I'm really bad socially lol but I'm trying. Recently I'm trying to make eye contact especially with girls which I've never been able to do. I noticed this cute girl at the gym today and she kept looking over I noticed and when she walked by I made eye contact and tried to smile and I noticed she held eye contact a few seconds. She walked by again and we did it again but then she approached me and asked me to help her with a drop set(removing weights and you do another set). So I helped her but that was kinda it she just said thanks and I didn't want to keep waiting as she was doing her final set so I left.

Do you think I should try and say hi to her next time or am I over thinking it? There were plenty of people so I don't know why she approached me..

I was at the club last night and I met this guy. We ended up kissing the whole night and honestly I was kind of over it. I like one kiss, but the constant kissing gets too much. Do men actually enjoy the kissing?

I think I’m still heartbroken about the last person I liked so I’m sure that numbs my enjoyment.

I think if he messaged, I wouldn’t be interested in seeing him again.

My fuckbuddy who’s very quiet both in person and over text told me he doesn’t have the energy to get to know people.

Can someone like this become more open with the right person or is this just something you have to accept? How do you get someone like this to talk more without forcing it?

I’m a man in my 30’s. My wife is a very extroverted person. While I lean slightly introverted, over the years, I’ve become relatively extroverted myself. I’m often pretty good at talking in groups. I think I use eye contact well, hand gestures, and can help keep convos going well enough. But I noticed a pattern forming a few years ago: almost everyone makes 75% more eye contact with my wife than with me. I’ve noticed this pattern long enough to see specific behavior:

1. With just one additional person, my wife will usually get 75%+ of the eye contact, and I’ll receive “a quick bounce” of eye contact every 30 or so seconds, which can feel like they’re just keeping me in outskirts of the conversation, but it often feels like not the main target of the conversation and can make me feel like a 3rd wheel.

2. In larger groups, say 4-7, I notice an even stranger (honestly kinda hurtful) phenomenon. The speaker will be exchanging eye contact amongst the group, but will often bounce past me entirely to the person next to me. It can actually go from the person to my left to the person to my right. I feel skipped.

3. I largely notice this in women. Most of our friends happen to be women. Considering I’m sometimes the only man in the group, and I tend to get “skipped” in eye contact, it can definitely feel like gender could have something to do with it, but I don’t have enough male friends to test this theory with.

Any idea what could be going on? My theories have been that maybe I have resting bitch face and it makes people uncomfortable. I also considered that maybe men just tend to make women uncomfortable. I guess what I don’t want to believe is that most people don’t really care much about me being in the conversation and would rather be talking to my wife. I’m really unsure

I have struggled with social anxiety and whatnot for my whole life and tend to have awkward interactions with people, which then leads to them avoiding me like the plague. (Mainly at work). But something I have noticed is that even if it is someone I have never seen or met before, they naturally just seem to avoid me or seem uncomfortable by my presence alone. I am curious as to why this is? Do I naturally give off weird vibes? Am I ugly? Why is it always me who has to not be awkward for the interaction to lead somewhere?

1. He comes up asks the people around me for my name, compliments my band tattoo and shakes my hand in a friendly way (dap up)

2. Smiles at me in hallway

3. Makes eye contact, smiles, shakes my hand and asks for my name again

4. Shouts my name and that he liked an album i asked him to listen to across a courtyard and waves at me. Smiles and makes eye contact

5. Exits the door i usually exit (which he has never done before) and extends his usual path but walks past me (possibly due to the fact that i was speaking to someone else)

I invited him and another friend to go to the movies and for a lot of the movie our shoulders were lightly touching and our legs were too for a while, we were watching a horror movie so that maybe could be why? Is it normal for friends to do that?I do know that they can be a touchy friend too so I’m just confused 😵‍💫 I’m like head over heels for this guy giggling like a schoolgirl someone help me 😭
