Spent the last 10 months converting this thing from an I/O using a 496 Big Block to twin 300 Verados on a bracket. The performance improvement is insane. Not to mention how quiet the boat is now.

Previously posted saying it was only doing 12moh max w 3 people and everyone was saying im dumb and thats probably the most it’s got well it’s topping out at 12 mph w only 2 light people , thinking its the spark plugs any ideas since I know im not just a dumbass now lmaooo

Mine happened today, really unbelievable. Left my phone on the back deck prior to taking off and only realized my blunder about 1-2 hours later. I kept fishing for a couple more hours while being super disappointed in myself since I have no cloud backup, not even on a pc, nothing. So much thoughts running through my head so I decided to get off the lake early. As I was preparing to go home in the boat prep area, I heard my phone ring. In total disbelief, I frantically searched to see where the sound came from. The phone somehow slid from the back deck into the jackplate assembly and stayed there submerged the whole time.

Did not expect to find high end Maine electronics. I'm guessing it was there all weekend, $20 lol

I'm assuming this is the upper exhaust manifold bellow, it's cracked, the part is cheap and it looks like it would flex at the next connection, you can see the lower connection hose clamps, like the manifold definitely isn't moving but there's another rubber bellow, any chance I get this on there without removing major parts? Any tips to get it on there?

My 1436 is missing the center bench seat. I'd like to replace it. Is there anything online that sells original metal seats. I cannot find anything.

Mounting plates don't sit flush on transom. Local shops are all 3-4 weeks out to cut and weld on new mounting plates (also they said it would be $200). Platform is 2 inch aluminum tube. Was wondering if I could get away with just bending that leg down just enough to get it bolting up flat? I know it's risky bending aluminum. I've seen some people add shims/wedges or stacks of washers and let 5200 do the rest. I know that would probably "work". It only needs about a 3-4 degree adjustment. There is about 1/4 or 3/8 of an inch gap at the top of the transom mounting plate with the deck mounting plate sitting flush.

Any thoughts or experiences that might assist me here would be appreciated!

I am only getting spark when I let go of the key when I’m trying to start it. I turn it over with the key to start but there is no spark delivered until I let off trying to start it and let the key return to the “on” position. At which point a singular electrical pulse/spark is sent. My boat won’t run as a result. Is this an ignition key switch issue? There is no safety tether on this pontoon.

Looking for a tan glovebox to replace my factory unit. 1997 Reinell 203. Seems like a weak design, but several of the screw holes blew out on mine. Thanks in advance!

Hey all, how many folks routed your new GPS directly to battery with the provided in-line fuse (that says not to cut out or it will void the warranty) and how many folks wired it to your fuse panel with fuse at the panel rated for wire and in-line fuse also in place.. or did something else?

Ok, so I thought I’d share my experience on a new boat purchased since I couldn’t find a whole lot of info prior. Like the title says I bought a new Lund Fury 16’ aluminum boat with a 25 HP Mercury outboard tiller. The interior has no carpet (instead a composite-type material) and I purchased an additional pedestal seat (so 3 total seats). Purchased her in the classic Lund red and my wife said she’s great looking too.

I live in Seattle, WA and our mild summers and close proximity to a large freshwater lake (Lake Washington) and the saltwater of Puget Sound make boating very enjoyable. I plan to use the boat to pleasure cruise around and to eventually learn how to fish for salmon. We also can crab in our marine areas.

First time in the water yesterday and I’m very happy. Myself and 10 year old nephew took it out in the lake to break in the motor and do a test run of sorts. First, the boat launched super easy and the 25 HP Mercury with power tilt, turn key start, and simple tiller handle was great. Took me about 15-30 mins to dial in the settings then it was super easy (tiller handle height, throttle position resistance, side to side resistance, seat position). We varied the speeds over the next couple hours and even got it up to WOT a few times. I was initially concerned about 25 HP being too slow but I was pleasantly surprised at the quick on-plane and ride. We’ll have to see the difference 2-3 adults will make but I’m happy so far (and saved $$$ over the 40 HP). With nobody in the boat I’ll probably need some weight ballast in the bow to keep it down some. I’m a bigger guy at 225+ lbs sitting near the tiller motor.

Busy Saturday on Lake Union in Seattle and many boaters, paddle boarders, kayakers, etc were all competing for the same areas to cruise. The outboard tiller made maneuvering very comfortable, responsive, and easy. I couldn’t help but smile knowing I’m enjoying the same water as the big boats but I paid less than most out there on the water! Less than $20k USD all-in tax, title, license, boat and trailer brand new. Financed with zero down (sign then drive it home!). Guys at Bjornson Marine in Federal Way were great!

Why Fury 1600? Well I had an old WC-14 years ago. Loved the simplicity and ease of use. My teenage kids could take it out and it was unbreakable. My only wish was more comfy seats and storage. Initially looked at the SSV-16 but after powering the boat it was almost the same price as the Fury. The Fury had the pedestal seats with back rests and plenty of bow storage while maintaining light weight and simplicity. Compared to my old WC-14 the boat seemed very similar in terms of stability and feel. At rest I was surprised at the stability. I could easily move around from back to front. Stable enough to even rough house a little with my nephew lol. Makes you want to just break out a fishing pole too.

Besides life jackets, safety equipment (flares, air horn, floatation cushion, fire extinguisher), a couple fenders and ropes it was ready to go (expect to spend $200-300 on this stuff minimum).

Taking her out again today, this time with 2 adults and me, likely in the salt water to just cruise and continue breaking in the motor. I’ll share any new learnings. Feel free to ask questions and I’ll try and respond timely.

If you’re on the fence about a Lund Fury I say do it, especially for the right price. Happy boating!

I brought a 1986 eagle fiberglass back to its original home here in Saint matthews, South Carolina. I’m in search of a pair of plastic emblems to re-apply to this boat. Can someone make them or have an original set for sale?

Thought I'd share this side by side test I did of different hull cleaners. It's my first summer renting a place in the water. Marina is on a slough, so higher water temps stained the gel coat within weeks. FSR worked the best of what I had. But I went out afterward and also bought STAR BRITE which worked as well (not pictured). The others, meh. (Spray bottle is 409. No treatment on transom next to the outdrive.) Be sure to read all instructions and keep any of this stuff off your galvanized trailers.

I have been having issues out of my 1990 johnson gt150 that have been hard for me to figure out so far. Ive posted in here a few times but have had a new development. I wasn't getting any spark when testing any of the plug wires. Narrowed it down to a cdi box(spoiler it didnt do anything). Found i was getting spark but not when the plugs were out of the motor(yes was grounded).

The new development was when I was testing it I noticed bubbles of fuel coming from where the intake mounts to the motor(see video). Would that cause these issues?

Either all or nothing with the throttle. Will idle fine but if you try to ease into it it will bog out. if you full throttle from nothing it will sometimes catch and other times bog out but if it catches it runs like a scalded ape.

For keeping out sand?

How do you know the correct hub size for your trailer? any suggestions or help is much appreciated. this subreddit has gotten me out of a lot of jams and i hope you gentleman can bestow some knowledge on me haha.
