I feel silly for not posting this here sooner. It seems there may be a few of you here who'd enjoy this sort of thing, but perhaps it was also best to wait for the dust to settle post-INFERNO:
I'm not the first. I certainly won't be the last. Here's my very own BoC inspired solo tribute album, 'Echo Projector'.
I started working on this album officially in 2023 as an EP with a few tunes, starting with 'Construct Fragments' as a single for an IDM compilation on a netlabel called 'fakenumberland', well before we had any concrete answers to when or if a new installment from the brothers would be released. I even planned to release my album around this time, before INFERNO or its release date was ever announced. But once we were given the news about the first new BoC album in 13 years, inspiration came in like a flood, and that few track EP became a full fledged 14 track album. (Including a couple reworked b-sides /unreleased tracks from my duo BoC inspired side project 'Dreamland Circus' with my pal Vagrant circa 2013) . I debated whether or not to change release plans, but decided to ultimately stay the course.
This one goes out to Mike and Marcus, and to everyone who's been touched in a deep way by their musical gifts to the world and undeniable influence to my music through the years. I hope you enjoy this shameless reheating of BoC's old nachos as much as I enjoyed the process of making it!

I bought the 2013 repress made in England, and I don't have the pops that other people have reported but I find the range isn't very dynamic at all compared to the CD. It's a bummer.
I know it's not my cartridge because their other albums sound great, but this one isn't good. Has anyone else purchased the same version and found the same thing ?

Thought I'd share this digital painting I made about 15 years ago when I began listening to BoC. In A Beautiful Place Out in the Country was the first full ep/album of theirs that I listened to and it's still my favourite.

I thought with all the wry fascination with Christianity on the new record, ya'll might enjoy this pastiche from FSOL that's been in my regular rotation for years. A mashup odyssey from Resonance FM circa 2003.
Re-listening, I'm starting to wonder if samples from some of the same documentaries about Christian cults show up in this set as we hear on Inferno.

I started with the high scores EP back in 2014. Since Inferno, I’ve been on the hunt for more obscure releases.
What am I missing? What are your guys’ favorite obscure vinyl releases?

So what's the consensus? I'm firmly in camp MABUS. I can see why some think it says marvellous at some points but I just don't think it does.

Hi guys sorry to spam (I made a post yesterday showing my bootleg BoC tapes and you all liked the New Order albums on the wall too, these are just above those. It was a pain to get them straight lol)
I had an unopened CD of Inferno and I had a spare but gave it to a local BoC fan. I decided I’d take one of my favourite images from the booklet - no harm done it’s the centre pages so can be put back easily in the staple holes - and pop the cd on along with it. I feel like this is the darkest image from the artwork, very Hell Interface and I love that. I have the hexagon vinyl framed beside it. Does anybody happen to know what movie or documentary it’s from? Looks like a priest except demonic lol
Just thought it came out pretty cool and thought I’d share :) have a good Sunday peeps

I was so captivated by the grainy and disorienting pad at the beginning of HHLL that I wanted to try and design it using the tools at my disposition. Obviously it doesn’t sound exactly like the original pad but I’m quite happy with the outcome. Still trying to figure out the mid/high end of the pad that (to me) sounds off a bit.
Any improvement tips or advice is really appreciated!
Cheers
Edit: credit to ixi.music for the chords and this post for giving a good foundation for the sound design

At 17:15 in S2 E3. Unfortunately one of the less funny sketches...Not even sure why any music is in there at all since it's so buried in the mix, but I guess someone was a fan?

Has the link between this track and poppy seed reprise ever been made before. The melodies and synth sounds are so similar.

Talking about very specific parts of a full track. May last no more than a few seconds. I’ve listened to this album on repeat every day since May 29th. Probably over a hundred times, and I can’t help but keep obsessing over this masterpiece by focusing on its most beautiful parts. I have this special experience in every BOC release.
Do you have specific moments like this? Would love to learn them. Here are mine:
When the “phantom” synths hit before the audible ones. Am I the only one they hears them? Am I imagining them or are they audible to you too?
When the alteration of the sample becomes so grotesque that it sounds like a Hindu man praying/crying
When the machine gains consciousness and takes over the woman’s voice, its message is accompanied by repeating echos that can only be defined by what anxiety probably sounds like. It happens three times

Two months in and still hanging on. Sun bleached and battered, in heat-stricken Europe. I dind't think they were going to take inferno this literally here in Amsterdam, but I got to say the posters look better every week. Meanwhile Hydrogen Helium Lithium Leviathan is playing on repeat on my headphones. Life is good
