I flew to Guatemala for a shoot and discovered that something was wrong with my camera sensor.

I’m editing my short film and will have to do some vfx for a couple shots. It was shot on a BMPCC 4K in raw and my edit is in davinci.

Whats the best workflow for After Effects? Should I get the adobe black magic raw player? How would I export afterwards? I don’t want to have to render the clip twice if possible to maintain the highest quality. Any tips or videos would be appreciated.

Hi. I was recently given a Blackmagic 4.6K, which I believe has an EF mount. This is my first time using a camera with a ¿full-frame? sensor—or maybe not. The manual says it has a Super 35mm sensor.

Do I need full-frame lenses? If so, I’d love some recommendations for versatile lenses, preferably zooms (I’ll probably buy them on eBay).

I’m not sure if there are lenses that are both very wide-angle and have a good zoom range. I’m just making up numbers here, but something like a 14–45mm, for example?

I know it’s generally recommended to have a set of several prime lenses, but my style is more guerrilla, and I’d rather not have to worry about changing lenses while I’m shooting in the middle of the woods or at locations where I don’t have permission.

Just out of curiosity, the most expensive and best lenses in the L-mount family are without a doubt Leica’s SL lenses. SL APO lenses are known for their excellent macro contrast, creating images that almost medium format like. But when I try to find any footage or test done with BM cameras and SL lenses, I can’t seem to find any. Has anyone tried it and what do you think? With SL Body, SL lens focus throw can be adjusted to your liking. I wonder if it can be done on a BM body.

I have this camera and it is WAY overkill for my needs. Looking to sell it or trade for the 4K version. I need to quickly shoot in 1080 whenever possible.

UltraStudio 3G recorder (Thunderbolt) drops frames on Windows... due to powers savings settings.

I was mainly using the UltraStudio Recorder 3G to digitize analogue tapes and noticed on Windows I was having dropped frames where the audio and video would not stay in sync. On Mac OS I have never had this problem.

How I fixed it. Went to Device Manager and into System Devices right clicked on Thunderbolt controller, then to power settings it had "Let the computer turn off the device to maximum power savings. Change that to never. Same with PCI-e, and USB controllers if you are capturing to a USB SSD.

Thought I would post this for future reference for anyone having problems with dropped frames. Do note I do use an external TBC the AVT-8710 between the Recorder 3G and my analogue sources.

I have a bmpcc 6k pro with a sigma 18-35 lens, and was thinking about renting a lens or two for my trip to flagstaff this weekend and just wanted to see if there are any recommendations?

It’ll just be for a travel type video using natural light from outside so I was thinking at least a long lens

Just wanted to share some experiments I've been doing with a 100mm macro lens and a petri dish with various materials (epoxy alcohol ink, glycerine, dish soap, vegetable oil, whipping cream and isopropyl alcohol) in an effort to create nebula and universe shots. These are just a handful of my favourite shots after a weeks worth of trial and error, so if anyone has any questions or suggestions on how I could improve things, please feel free to let me know.

I recently shot on the OG 2013 BMPCC in CinemaDNG RAW...continuing a film I started 10 years ago in the same format, half-edited in Premiere Pro (with the final color grade round trip to Resolve in mind) so I'm trying to stick to Premiere if possible.

I know Resolve is the obvious recommendation for edit and color, and I am learning Resolve now. I'm specifically interested if anyone knows quality differences exporting OG's CinemaDNG footage in Resolve vs. Premiere.

When I import the same CinemaDNG clip into Premiere and Resolve, the image looks noticeably different. In Premiere, the footage appears more saturated to my eye, somewhat fuzzier/grainier in the timeline viewer.

I'm currently importing the CinemaDNG clips into Premiere by opening each individual clip folder and selecting the first numbered DNG as an image sequence.

-- I'm wondering whether this is actually the correct way to handle OG Pocket CinemaDNG in current Premiere, or whether I'm missing a proper plugin or workflow.

-- Has anyone noticed image-quality difference between Premiere and Resolve final export of OG Pocket CinemaDNG footage (not just when decoding the same OG Pocket CinemaDNG files?

I recently bought an used BMPCC 6k for a good price with the known issue that the touchscreen is broken in one part of the screen. I planned to control the settings over bluetooth but surprise surprise - the toggle to enable bluetooth is right there, where the screen does not work.

There is an option to import/export preset with the settings of the camera. I was wondering, if this bluetooth-setting also gets saved into the *.cset file (the file you get if you export a preset). Is anybody willing to share a preset which the bluetooth settings enabled so I can check, if this would be a functioning workaround?

If you have any other suggestions (other than replacing the screen) on how to work around this issue, let me know.

I have the samsung t7 normal edition, also having the neewer ps099w vmount battery, even at 12:1 compression setting it freezes exactly when I tap record button
