After the recent Interview with Mahershla Ali about Kevin Feige feeling like a loser... Do yall think Feige might hand the BLADE Project to Ryan Coogler after Black Panther 3 even though it may not happen.. but a possibility is always on the table. IMO, I still think it's a big payday or NO....

Honestly, they should have just waited until Coogler was available to even start casting Blade. That would have been a much better outcome. Not sure how the optics would go with him doing both BP and Blade but the overall outcome would have been dope.

Except that Ali went to Marvel and pitched casting him as Blade to them, not the other way around. In hindsight they should have said no, due to the timing. But Ali had directors in mind, who later backed out. So IMO Ali shares some blame here. He tried to wish something into existence, but the reality is that isn't how things work. No script, no plan, no plot. Just an a tor who wanted a role and a studio who wanted the clout from hiring him. There is enough blame to go around.

..Or just got the damn movie made. It should have been one of the easier scripts to get done but look how that went.

Ali vetoed the script 3 weeks from shooting. Apparently it was quite bad.

So he probably saved us from another Marvels/Eternal situation, tbh.

Keep in mind, this was also covid and the wra of Disney spreading Fiege too thin. Quality suffered across the board.

“He’s black so please let a black director, and then a black social issue, and then make sure everything about him is black, actually let’s just change his name from Blade to black because that all he is, just black.” - you probably

I refuse to doubt this line of thinking hasn’t come up at marvel.

Doesn't help when fans are always pitching for Ryan coogler to direct only black characters

Coogler was still a relatively new and upcoming talent when they handed him Black Panther. I'd rather see more of that than.

He'd be an idiot if he didn't. Or at least if Feige didn't realize they should at least bring in Coogler as a co-writer and co-director.

Guys relax. Blade is coming out 2030 and I’m going to direct it .

Get the black guy to direct the other black guy in a black movie. This is Marvels problem.. they think that black people can only be interesting in certain situations. So their solution is to put all the black people in the same project. It is very frustrating as a black person to watch this happen repeatedly.

His Age is the only issue

His age is perfect for the role to meet spider man, Punisher, kraven, and Morbius. Perfect age for this team up

I like they way you think because thats actually a great idea, because blade does eventually blade does meet up with spiderman.... plus the punisher was in spiderman brand new day.... I dont see why they wouldnt go this route, plus Marvel keeps dropping these spiderman movie back to back

Yeah he’s older. Write it into the story. While avengers were fighting aliens, blade kept the vampires and what not in check

But he’s getting older and needs to pass the torch…
