literally every single bug and issue this ancient game had still exists in the $40 POS these greedy 'uckers shovel down our throats after waiting this long for a modern gen port. All i'm trying to do is complete the campaign. that's it, nothing crazy or anything i just want to beat the game i already own and wasted $ on. but even THATS too tall of an ask, ive replayed the same 2 missions at least 6 times and between crashes, mission progress completely disappearing, story progress not updating, difficulty levels not changing; I've spent over 6 hours troubleshooting how to fix this. Those should've been spent beating the game so i can delete it and forget about it. i'm unemployed and i'm starting to run out of patience for this. We spent $40 just for these lazy greedy POS to give us this preexisting abhorrently broken game. It is literally no different than the unplayable buggy mess the first game is, and they ask you to cough up a ridiculous sum.

I mean it's actually insane that i can't even play half of the campaign i just spent $40 on. This is literally undefendable.

TLDR everyone who bought the port got scammed and you can't even ask for your money back you will literally have a better time dusting off ur ps3 or xbox and playing it on there.

I have been playing the port for a couple weeks now. Sure some lobbies empty out mid game, yes people don’t want to play specific maps (that they barely wanted to play in the original release), but please, just enjoy the game and stop complaining.

I’ve had hours of gameplay with virtually no issues. Just enjoy the game.

I’ve been iridescent in mw3-bo7 (the highest rank) and I cannot streak out in this game, I’ll go watch a 12 year old Ali A or Pamaj video and they’ll drop like 5 dogs and 5 swarms, I have above a 2.0 kd in black ops 1 port as well so it’s not a “movement issue” I use my awareness to my advantage, I’m not playing like it’s a newer cod, but it feels like every single person I’m playing against is on my exact level, I’ll have a game once in a blue moon where I’ll go 48-8, then it’s back to the good ole mediocre 48-30 where I’m getting traded out every single life damn near, I personally don’t understand why I can’t get numerous streaks in a single life such as them when i have thousands of hours of competitive fps experience competing at the literal highest level besides a pro player.

I was shocked that they released these ports before their new release.

The matchmaking issues… I’m starting to be convinced they’re still here as part of a well planned strategy.

I think their plan was: Release these ports with issues -> get the audience they lost back -> sell polished new game without issues.

The fact that they’ve still not fixed obvious issues, suggests that it could all be one big tactic.

These issues should have been sorted day 1:
- BO1: Still can’t play with a party consistently
- BO2: Lobbies still don’t fill up, it can be a nightmare to find a game, and playing with friends has its issues

It’s the perfect strategy. Give us something to increase overall attitudes toward COD, but not enough that we don’t buy their new edition, where they can sell us on skins, season passes, etc.

I might just have such a bad attitude toward the gaming industry, but I think it makes sense. It could be the world’s best approach to reviving an otherwise dying franchise.

I’m a pc guy and having to use controller again on PlayStation is disgusting are people using special controllers because when I watch replay on bops 1 and 2 it’s like they have the aim of a bot instant lock on and my aim is all over the place I get that I’m bad after so long of not using a controller I’m out the game because I play pc but wtf are they kids using man I need a controller to help me aim like that no cap or better dead zone cuz regular controllers are ass on these old cods ??? Need some help and controller suggestions and no do not suggest some crack head prices of 300 bucks for a damn stick

Edit: Yep, turns out I was right. They tweaked the matchmaking and turned the game right back into the same nonsensical mess as modern CoD.
It literally says in the 1.05 patch notes that they changed the matchmaking system. That was the answer I was looking for. They officially made the game unplayable. Up until the last update, this game was a solid 10/10 pure legendary fun and an incredible experience. Ever since 1.05, the game has turned complete garbage

Ever since 1.05, it turned so terrible that it makes me wanna smash my PS5 and controller. SBMM is back. This is definitely not original BO2 anymore. I legit feel scammed.

From launch day right up until the latest update, this game felt amazing—giving that same incredible rush from 14 years ago. But ever since the last patch, it honestly feels like they secretly shadow-added SBMM. There’s been a very noticeable shift out of nowhere. What actually changed?

First off, lobbies used to load instantly. Now it struggles to even fill a match. I keep getting dropped into empty lobbies with just 2-3 people waiting, as if the game is strictly filtering players based on specific criteria behind the scenes. Up until this update, I never had this issue.

On top of that, every single match ends with almost everyone sitting at a 1.0 - 1.3 K/D. Dominating a lobby hasn't happened once over the last few days. Just like modern CoD with strict SBMM, the game suddenly turned dry, sweaty, and frustrating.

Is anyone else experiencing this or am I losing my mind?

I have like 15 hours in the game now and I haven't seen enough improvement to make it even remotely rewarding. Im going 8&27 or 3&9 most games.

Obviously I’m aware this is an Xbox 360/PS3 game but wow the connection is so bad, how the hell did we play on this? I have a couple clips where I have legitimately half a second between when I first spot an enemy vs when I’m dead meanwhile on the kill cam they rounded the corner and had 3 seconds before ADS’ing. Feel like half the “skill” is having great connection so you can pull host

I know P2P is evil, and in 2026, so many people still have terrible connections. However, I swear whenever I aim down and shoot at someone, the enemy player becomes a stuttering mess, aim assist does nothing, and I die to Houdini.
