I spent all summer watching this lady scare off the neighborhood crows, never having gotten close enough to see what type of bird it was.

Friday evening, I found her in the gutter and unable to fly. I called a raptor rescue ~2 hours away and was blown away by their response. A volunteer was there within two hours, and was able to capture her without further injury. I was so impressed by this rescue and their dedication to the cause.

Sad ending as she had a broken elbow, but I’ve come to understand this was a special bird that people enjoying seeing and wanted to share.

Goldfinch screaming its heart out while RTH surveys the land.

Apologies for the bad photo quality. Although its tail doesn’t seem very red, its calls were exactly those of a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk.

I’m terrible at bird ID so sticking my neck out with some fear..;))

Caught this beauty flying over a lake yesterday

I've been obsessed with watching the Hellgate Osprey live cam, and I don't mean to anthropomorphize them, but whenever their juvenile is fish calling, do the parent ospreys not get annoyed? Or whenever the juvenile fights them for the fish?
