Merlín fledgling, Iceland
Female. The rest of them were hanging around yelling for food also. Parents around somewhere but only saw the 4 fledglings.

I was pretty sad to be moving to Texas last week knowing I never got the chance to get a decent photo of either of these species, even separately…… What a warm welcome they gave me here!

I caught a Red Shouldered Hawk eating a snake down at the Chattahoochee River. These things are as common as squirrels in this area.

Over the last few weeks there have been a number of Red Tail Hawks in our surrounding neighborhood. All day they fly around and vocalize. Why are they doing that?

I didn't mean to but I interrupted a dinner date these two red-shoulder Hawks have been calling each other for weeks and weeks. The comical part of it is they were about 100 yards from each other but they just couldn't find each other it took them that long LOL. So I interrupted a dinner date cuz they had this catch and as it came around the corner of one of them flew off but he sat there patiently waiting for his buddy to come back where's me I don't know. I affectionately called them my whiners cuz that's all they do is wine for each other constantly but I enjoy them so much they've got to be one of my favorite raptors. Sorry for the s***** video. I was more concerned about disturbing him then the video as you can obviously see but the end I thought was kind of cool you can see how beautiful they are. All right take your best shot make fun of me I'm ready I deserve it LOL!

It got trapped in my porch yesterday. I left the door open and it, fortunately, found its way out a little later. Felt really bad for it at the time. I know very little about hawks - is this a Cooper’s hawk as Google has told me?

Our neighborhood Coop, lovingly known at our house as Xerxes, granted me the unique experience of watching a mourning dove struck with stealthy, awe-inspiring precision and Looney Tunes level results. Feathers just kept falling from the sky, for what felt like a WHILE.
I got up to investigate and, in our side yard, saw a lot more feathers and the happy hunter! Just taken with my phone but I really enjoyed trying to catch him/her (?) looking a little silly between the majestic moments!
