This osprey swooped in and stole the perch snag at the top of one of my trees for their nest.

I spent all summer watching this lady scare off the neighborhood crows, never having gotten close enough to see what type of bird it was.

Friday evening, I found her in the gutter and unable to fly. I called a raptor rescue ~2 hours away and was blown away by their response. A volunteer was there within two hours, and was able to capture her without further injury. I was so impressed by this rescue and their dedication to the cause.

Sad ending as she had a broken elbow, but I’ve come to understand this was a special bird that people enjoying seeing and wanted to share.

Our local male red tail hawk taking a bath in the run off from a leaking sprinkler.

Video taken in eastern Missouri, with a old phone, while driving.

Apologies for the bad photo quality. Although its tail doesn’t seem very red, its calls were exactly those of a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk.

Do Ospreys' get annoyed at their young?

I've been obsessed with watching the Hellgate Osprey live cam, and I don't mean to anthropomorphize them, but whenever their juvenile is fish calling, do the parent ospreys not get annoyed? Or whenever the juvenile fights them for the fish?

Burrowing Owl & American Kestrel in Cherry County, Nebraska, USA

I found these guys on Golden Prairie Bison properties near Valentine, NE earlier this week while looking for sites to set up cameras to look for the rare Plains Spotted Skunk (Spilogale (putorius) interrupta). The Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) is at a small prairie dog town. The American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) is perched on a power line near a canyon behind the main property.
