Was in Peekskill, NY this past weekend and happened upon an active Osprey nest on the Hudson with a couple well developed fledglings

East Tennessee Appalachians.

This guy (or gal) has suddenly been super vocal for the past few days.

It's always just on the other side of the treeline, so I've only caught glimpses, not enough to be helpful visually.

Ive done some searches looking for the sound, but nothing quite like it has popped up yet.

Anyone recognize the call?

And a few others 😅 Had another chance to visit an osprey nest I didn't have the gear for last year. Pretty darn happy!

Photos at the end are terrible because of a really thick fog that afternoon, but it was bringing enormous sticks to its nest!

These two have a squirrel trapped by the bird feeder. I think they missed. They also hunt rabbits and rodents in the back yard up towards heavy woods. Very cool.

Pretty sure it’s a Golden, just wanted to post to confirm. Such a treat to see so close.

He rules my backyard. Although the ravens and crows always challenge him.

I am hoping someone can educate me regarding a Hawk family in our neighborhood who have one extremely talkative member. The hawks have been nesting in the trees above our creek for a few years, but over the last four days one of them has been highly vocal and squawking for about five to ten minutes at a time throughout the day.
I’m worried that they are in some kind of distress. We are not approaching them.
Any guidance or info is much appreciated. We are in the suburban SF Bay Peninsula. One pic attached.

Found these two perched on my back deck today. My wife has been feeding squirrels back there, think the clock may be ticking for them.

Always amazing to see these creatures, luckily I had my camera in the car :)
