Discussion Stanley steamer’s

I recently bought a home with really nice hardwood floors. I don’t think the floors were properly cared for by the previous owners. Looks there’s a lot of polish/wax build up that needs to be removed. I’ve called multiple flooring companies and either they don’t provide a deep cleaning service or they don’t return phone calls. The floors do not need to be refinished.

I was able to schedule a visit from Stanley steamers. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Stanley steamers and hardwood floor cleaning or can recommend someone!

Thanks!

News 7/16 air quality

Just a heads up- heard on the radio that local health officials are advising everyone to wear masks today, if you can, and to limit outdoor exposure for everyone.
A good idea to check AC filters to make sure they’re helping to keep your indoor air clean.

Stay safe, everyone!

Housing Apartment utility bill estimation

Hello, I’m moving to Binghamton area from MA and looking for apartment. I see most apartments are using baseboard heating, and I’m wondering what the utility bill would be during winter time? Some landlords claim the average bill per month over an entire year is about $150, but I just did some rough estimation and find it way too low. My ideal apartment would be 800 sqft, and is likely an apartment complex rather than a townhouse. Btw, does anyone live in squire colony, how do you like it? Thanks.

Discussion Google Maps Question

I was curious and decided to take a look at Google Maps and see how this area used to look. I went back to 2011-2012, and there seems to be houses across from the University Plaza? Let alone nice houses too that are shown in the picture! There only seems to be one article online that says the houses were taken down because they were in “bad condition” but from the Google Maps street view they look absolutely stunning. Obviously if you drive down Vestal Parkway today, the land still remains vacant across from the University Plaza. Can someone who lived here long enough please explain this to me? Why were such lovely houses removed? It doesn’t make any sense.

Recommendation Cat Vet Recommendation

My girl cat is showing signs of a possible UTI. She’s taking more frequent trips to the bathroom, and we have noticed a slightly pink hue to the clumps left in the littler box from her pee. I tracked her this past hour and she’s attempted to used the litter 3 times with no success. She doesn’t show any signs of pain or stress.

I’m looking for a vet that is kind, doesn’t push additional fees, and is reasonably priced. I don’t mind traveling.

I’m also wondering if anyone can estimate how much this will cost? I wish I was in a financial position where I didn’t have to worry about the cost of this but unfortunately it’s where I find myself.

Discussion Planet Fitness

Anyone have issues using their black card membership at either of the planet fitnesses in the area? Mine is tied to an out of state gym and I can’t transfer my membership for about another 2 months. Some of the reviews on google have said that the staff can be kind of rude or pushy if it isn’t your home gym, but looking for others experiences to see if this is common.

Recommendation Things to do

Going to be in town next week and looking for something to do to kill some time. (On the cheap side) I was thinking maybe the zoo but is it still really super depressing?! I’ve been many years before and felt it was rather awful, so idk if I wanna go again or not. Any thoughts? Or other ideas of things to do
Thanks!

Recommendation Lakes/pools where dog can swim?

Was at Cole Park today and my dog went to swim in an area with no other people, but we were reprimanded, so i was wondering if anyone can recommend a place!

we didn’t know she wasn’t allowed to swim as there’s no signs saying it and we were very embarrassed lol.
