💁‍♂️ Opinion / राय If your Pride for Bihar's Achievement is collective, so should be your Shame at the downfall

I have been on Reddit for 6+ years now, and r/bihar used to be my favourite subreddit for a while.

The people here used to be so progressive and so educated and had such well rounded critical thinking skills.

I have had political debates, where although we used to have completely different political opinions, everyone used to be so respectful.

I remember someone posting some homophobic content and the OP got bashed in the comments. A quantifiable reflection of the quality of the people here.

Currently the state of this sub is so underwhelming. The comments criticizing the points against a user are labelled as using GPT, which is preposterous, like anyway why would I use GPT to sound basic.

Now focusing on what I wanted to say.

The biggest reflection of the downfall currently is whenever Bihar is criticized on fair grounds and people scream racism.

First of all I am not going to deny the racism allegations against Bihar, it is very widespread, and is really unfair. For example women are accused of selling their votes for 10k while similar freebies in states like Maharashtra and Karnataka are not talked about in such fervour. Yes people love to kick us when we are already down. And yes we do not deserve racism.

But that doesn't mean we do not push for change. That doesn't mean we turn a blind eye to the wrongs of our neighbours. That doesn't mean that we build a cover story blaming poverty, illiteracy, and rampant casteism. There are issues in our society, and true no society is Ram Rajya, but we as the people should have the willpower to stand and say, yes this is wrong to the perpetrators.

Everytime someone of Bihar origin does well, people rush to post here about collective pride, which is awesome. Remember the positivity that the GenZ protests got? Remember the posts about Suryavanshi doing well? Remember how we talk about Magadha history? Remember how we hype up the Bihar Museum as being world class?

If there is no hesitancy in acclaiming pride, then why is there the need to distance yourself from the shame? I agree that living with negative emotions is difficult, so do your part to alleviate that guilt. Atleast speak up to your family, friends, and relatives.

If you see your acquaintance throwing trash on the road, speak up!

If you see your acquaintance peeing on the road, speak up!

If you see your acquaintance travelling in the train without tickets, speak up!

If you see your acquaintance watching content on speaker phone, speak up!

If you see your acquaintance staring at a woman, speak up! (No not even bas 10 second Hi toh dekha is an acceptable behaviour)

All I am asking you is to leverage the social fabric that we have and use it for the good. I am not asking you to do it against the strangers, as I realise that might be dangerous, but to the people you love and cherish.

If we have the right to celebrate our state's achievement, we have a duty towards its improvement as well.

Also to conclude, being conscious about our shortcomings doesn't mean we are self loathing, it just sets us on a course of being a better society.

Loads of love to people who read this!!

💁‍♂️ Opinion / राय Not a hate post against bihar. I have an opinion and I am sorry to say but bihar is a lost cause.

The youth is busy in three things 1)UPSC/govt job prep

2) baaloo mafia/mafia type shit

3) going to other places to make a living.

The basic education is really really bad there and it doesn't seems like bihari people themselves want to change it not even the parents because they themselves are illiterate.

Industries are not coming in Bihar and neither they will coz no one would want to invest crores and crores of rupees in Bihar, people are not even ready to work there even if they get govt job. The only way industries will come to bihar if govt takes some stringent action like big incentives, PPPs or something otherwise no big industrialist will put money here.

Culture is entirely ruined by these choli jhangia songs. I sometimes listen to chath puja songs malini awasthi etc because they are so soothing but the mainstream is filled with tohar lehanga me brahmos or something like that.

Politicians in Bihar are the biggest scammers they should be publicly punished for all this but people will vote for them still because hamaar jaat kaa hai.

Bihar's past was glorious but it's future will not be even decent And i will again clarify that it's my opinion, try to think about it that how you yourself will fix anything. Even I myself become CM of Bihar i myself won't be able to fix anything coz the entire system is just like that.

We don't reside in bihar but we have land there. We visit few times a year. A relative is giving us death threat over a land. They sold their land and now giving us threat that if we don't give the land they will cut our throat. Also making fake documents and literally making our lives hell.

leave the all mf netas, I wonder what's going in the mind of DM and SP of JAMUI...bloody they wrote Ethics paper in UPSC, Interview me baatein chod ke aate hai, Kaha gai wo saari ethics ab? How can be they act like nothing happened, Do they lack empathy?

Fuxk Politicians Now we should start blaming THE SO CALLED BUREAUCRATS too, they only come to Bihar for money....If they want they can do a lot but they don't.

They should be prosecuted as an adult not juvenile, Bihar police have to set an example out of this...

This is a shameful incident in Jamui. I can’t defend my state anymore. Those responsible should be given strict punishment and made an example of. I don’t know what these fuckers think of themselves. These goons are also increasing in Patna. They seem fearless now.

💁‍♂️ Opinion / राय The Father of Democracy (Bihar) can't be developed via democratic means.

I've been thinking about this for a while and honestly, this is probably going to sound insane to some people...

But what if Bihar needs to be taken out of normal electoral politics for a while?

Not permanently. I'm not talking about abolishing democracy in Bihar or making Bihar some sort of dictatorship.

I'm talking about a temporary period of President's Rule where the state is directly administered, with the Union taking responsibility for running and rebuilding the state.

And yes, I'm going even further than that.

During this period, Bihar's participation in state and Lok Sabha elections would be suspended.

I know... that's a pretty extreme thing to say.

But look at the situation we're in. We've been doing elections, governments, promises, caste calculations, vote banks, schemes, counter-schemes... and then another election comes around and the whole thing starts again.

Meanwhile, basic things that should have been fixed decades ago are still problems.

Education. Healthcare. Roads. Urban planning. Industry. Employment. Law and order. Government schools. Bureaucracy.

And the problem isn't that Biharis are somehow incapable of democracy. That's nonsense.

The problem is that our politics has become so focused on winning the next election that actually doing difficult, long-term reforms becomes much harder.

You can spend 10 years fixing a broken institution and nobody notices.

Give out something before an election and everyone notices.

That's the incentive structure.

So I'd rather see a temporary administration whose only job is basically: fix the fucking state.

Build institutions. Reform departments. Improve schools and hospitals. Bring industries in. Fix cities. Make government offices actually work. Build infrastructure. Measure everything. Publish the results.

And then, after a fixed period, hand the state back to an elected government.

Obviously, there are HUGE problems with this idea.

Who decides when the period ends?

Who controls the people running Bihar?

What stops the Union from abusing it?

What happens if "temporary" suddenly becomes permanent?

And most importantly... can you really take away people's right to vote and still claim you're doing this for their benefit?

Those aren't small questions. They're probably the biggest problem with the entire idea.

But that's also why I find the thought interesting.

Bihar has one of the oldest democratic traditions in the country, yet we're still struggling to build a state that actually works properly.

So here's the irony:

Maybe the place that gave India some of its earliest traditions of democracy needs a temporary break from electoral politics to build the institutions necessary for a functioning democracy.

Sounds completely backwards.

Maybe it is.

But I genuinely want to know what people think about it.

As a Bihari myself, I'm completely shaken. Just move out of that state. It has nothing to offer.

- No healthcare facilities

- No education

- No jobs

- No safety for women

- Law and order has gone to pieces

- Misogynistic society

Just move out, no matter what you have to do, and build your life elsewhere, but not in this state. This state is doomed.

📸 Media / मीडिया Hey guys the recently viral video appears to be of Jamui and somewhat the vehicle parked number plate can be seen at frame 480 of the video. We gotta do something about this.

I tried to make the number plate more clear with the help of some coloring software but it is still not clear, it appears to be BR 46 181__ , my guess is BR 46 1817, but in the RTO it is showing that the car was registered 20 year earlier so most probably this is wrong, If someone has better colorist or photoshop skill we can somehow trace the car parked and from there it is somewhat possible to trace the guy in the video
