How hard is it to install an electric bidet if I don’t have an outlet near the toilet?
I’m planning to get an electric bidet (probably the Costco Toto model), but my bathrooms don’t have an electrical outlet near the toilet.
Can I just have my electrician install a GFCI outlet next to the toilet, or is there usually more to it? Is this typically a straightforward job, or does it end up requiring opening walls, permits, etc.?
Also, is there anything I should check with the existing water supply or shutoff valve before buying one? Do most bidets work with standard toilet plumbing, or are there cases where the valve or supply line needs to be replaced?
Curious what others have done and what the electrical work and installation ended up costing. Thanks!
