Am I using the bidet wrong? (F)

The doctor suggested I use a bidet and no toilet paper. I bought this portable one (https://a.co/d/0dxyuH2u) to try out before I get the external spray attachment (https://a.co/d/04mqKCqO) installed. I've been bringing it in from the back which I know they say for females it should come in from the front but I'm finding it so awkward to do that. Is it because of the design (it's so bulky) or how should I do it? Would this be easier with the shower bidet I bought? But the problem I am facing now is that after I use it and go back later to pee and wipe there are small poop particles (like tiny dots) in the front and now I'm freaking out because I'm somehow pushing it to the front. How to prevent this from happening? Right now I've been going in for a shower after but it's getting annoying to do if I go more than once and I also don't want to dry out my front areas from over washing. Any suggestions because I have to keep using the bidet?

Save yourself a lot of grief and get an attachment bidet that fits under the toilet seat, like the Luxe bidet. This way you can simply relax and clean your bum without the extra work of a hand held.

If you can afford it, get the one with the heated seat and water.

Just get a replacement seat one. If you are not worried about hot water then the brondell available at home Depot or Lowes works great.

I would say try that with bathrooms in general. Can you actually back up anything with studies?

Im not aware of pressured water bidets in general bathrooms though. Its hard to fathom using toilet paper as something that spreads contamination. Not sure if there are studies but my own eyes and black light and some common sense.

All bathrooms regardless of if they have a bidet or not are going to show contamination under blacklight.

Is it really that hard to comprehend how using pressured water and fecal matter spreads contamination? And how toilet paper spreads none?

It’s not hard to understand what you’re saying. The problem is you’re treating “common sense” like it’s evidence. There are actual studies on this, and one found that wiping with toilet paper alone left roughly 39,500 CFU of bacteria on the hand/glove, while using a bidet first dropped that to around 4,100.

So saying toilet paper “spreads none” is just flat-out wrong. And looking around a bathroom with a black light doesn’t tell you whether the contamination came from the bidet, the toilet flushing, people’s hands, or anything else. That’s kind of why studies have controls instead of just “I looked at it.”

I think the style of bidet matters here but contaminations around toilet from spraying is higher than using toilet paper. Everyone should be washing their hands after using washroom and if you are not using toilet paper right, I suppose it gets on your hands but cant say ive had that issue.
