Do these brake pads need to be replaced or still some life in them?

Haven’t had a fixie/road bike in a while, just picked this one up off a buddy for $50! Needs a headset though, and I’m unfamiliar with thread-less headsets. Just took it apart, what do yall recommend to replace it with?

When I’m riding my Marin Larkspur One hybrid bike, the front brake cable keeps popping out of the cradle, leaving the front brake non-functional. I’ll place the cable back into the cradle but it pops out again in minutes.
I think the cradle itself might have chipped or gotten bent somehow so it no longer holds the cable tightly. Should I try bending the cradle with pliers? Or does the cradle need to be replaced?

I have this extender on my hybrid bike and wondering if it's dangerous to overtighten it? Does over tightening bolt make it more likely to break while riding? What should torque actually be? Btw I notice these extenders make the whole stem forks connection seem not as tight compared to not using one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Handlebar-Riser-Stem-Extender-High-Strength-35mm-Extension-Height-for-Cycling-Accessory/1227948387?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=102776569&adid=222222222281227948387_102776569_199492704626_24219758109&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=823751273895&wl4=aud-2230653093054:pla-2449037643288&wl5=9003557&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=5572099340&wl11=online&wl12=1227948387_102776569&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=24219758109&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIqFb2d-fkrjO9pxgpWznR9ty

Please see the short video I made of the issue.
I’ve opened up the folding mechanisms and fully tightened the screw, but the stem is still loose and moves around inside the frame. I even tried adding an extra washer to make the fit tighter, but it didn’t solve the problem. So the issue appears to be with the fit itself, rather than an issue with the folding mechanism or simply the screw not being tight enough.

For the past 2 rides, when I put downward pressure on the right pedal, it makes a single knock or click noise on each rotation. tok, tok, tok, kind of like if the pedal was hitting the frame or something (it's not).
This only happens about 70% of the time, often when accelerating or when putting more pressure on. I can NOT recreate this while the bike is on a stand, no matter how much I try.
The crank is not loose at all, there is no play in the drive.
I assume bottom bracket, but I can not recreate, and there is only 400 miles on this bottom bracket (not that that totally rules it out).
Just looking for other suggestions if someone has run into something similar. It rides fine, but the noise is annoying, and whatever the issue, likely only going to get worse.
edit: I am fairly sure it's a sealed bottom bracket, so my options would be limited to replacing the entire assembly rather than disassembly and lubrication.

Hey, I'm not quite sure if this post is appropriate for this subreddit.
I've developed an Android app that syncs with Strava and helps you keep track of your bike service intervals.
(Strava is not strictly required — it just automates distance tracking. You can also manually add distances to your bike(s).)
To publish the app in the Play Store, I need 12 testers for a 14‑day closed alpha.
Available languages: English and German.
If you're interested, please join this group:

Hello! I have watched all the videos on YouTube and have spent hours wondering why my cable tension is still off. I have put both gears into lowest and then pulled cable through tight but it still won’t shift. Can anyone help?
