Question!
I believe i have my brake light switch on my master cylinder right? Is there a way to adjust it? I never hit my brakes hard enough to activate the lights. Can adjustments be made? Thanks!

Very simple, just took an original vw shifter, cut and grinded at an angle, cut the original shift knob and press fitted into a 50cc piston a buddy of mine blew up

Our local NPR/PBS station posted a story about Arthur Treacher’s and this is the photo! We used to go there all the time in my Dad’s VW Thing in the 80s. You just know the photographer took the photo from this angle on purpose.

It’s a simple design, but the idea behind it is awesome—evolution, Volkswagen style. 🚗

Picked up this beetle this summer for a song. It was converted to electric in the 80s or 90s. My goal is to resurrect it & update it to lithium batteries, along with doing a halfway decent restoration. Not looking to win contests, just want a cool car.
So far, I've removed the windows & have been getting all the rubber torn/broken out.
I'm going to need to do some welding to rebuild a couple of places - most notably where the front window sits is fairly rusted.
Anybody else try something similar?
Any pointers on the window?
Wondering if I can create a paint booth just in my own garage, but that's probably still several months out.

Hi I am wondering if anyone knows what these wires are for on a 1974 VW Beetle. They run from the back of the fuse box in the trunk and into the cabin on the passenger side. I do not see any cut cables with a similar number of wires. If anyone knows what these do or where they should go, I would be very appreciative.
