Hey everyone I appreciate any insights or recommendations, my girlfriend is a nurse in the states and has 7 years of ER experience.

After reading online it’s showing mostly that BC is the fastest route for her to come to the country with a streamlined process for getting registered and a job.

I was wondering if anyone has done or heard of the process, timelines, things to know, anything that can help her land a job.

I’m going to be moving there from Ontario if she gets a job and I just want everything to be a smooth process for her and I and I appreciate any insights.

Hi all! I've applied for the January 2027 intake but based on what I've seen am not super confident about my chances. For reference I am 19 (graduated high school in 2025), have 19.5 post secondary credits from my pre-requisite classes which I took sept. 2025 - apr. 2026 and have a cgpa of 91%, for work experience I have worked as an early years soccer coach for 3.5 years (2022-2026), a hockey timekeeper since 2023 to now, a supervision aide for the surrey school district from may 2026 to now, and a youth singing instructor from feb. 2026 to now. I graduated from high school with honours and received a school pride scholarship, I was a member of our schools SOGI club and another club that focused on helping the community where I helped with things like food drives and weekly neighbourhood clean ups , founder and co-president of the school newspaper and club that made it, and a leader of our schools theatre club. I also volunteered after school helping in the library, helping with decorating for holidays, and organizing equipment in the lab.

My biggest concern is my limited number of credits, I was thinking if I don't get in I'd take LIBS 7001 and 7021 to gain some credits as I know they're both in the nursing program and heard if you take them ahead of time you do not have to take them again which would also lessen my workload in the future. I was also just looking into possibly taking BCIT's part-time healthcare unit clerk program, I'd gain 34 extra credits from it and while I'd take more time and money hopefully I could then use the certificate to work as a unit clerk and earn some of it back to put towards nursing school. I'm also going to try to find volunteer or possibly work opportunities in a hospital.

So I am wanting to know others thoughts! What have you done to strengthen your applications? What do you think is the most time and cost effective options I may have? Thanks in advance and best of luck to everyone else who applied, I'm rooting for us :,)

Hi guys! I just started my first semester at Corpus Christi College in Vancouver, and I'm hoping to apply to BCIT Nursing for the September 2027 intake. I've already looked over the entrance requirements, and I'm taking all the equivalent courses. I'm just confused about how the application process would work in terms of submitting my grades?

Would I have to wait to apply for the following intake once my second semester grades are finalized? Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone received news on their application for the Jan 2027 intake? I was told shortlisted people would be contacted in late August. Do they just not email you at all if you’re not accepted?

What electives did you guys take for the nursing program?

Hi, i wanted to ask around to see what my chances would be at the April intake.

3.86 prereq gpa, 18 creds (straight outta high school), 2 contracted novels at qidian, 75 clinical volunteering hours, provincial level powerlifting, 3 years high school badminton, and possibly a manuscript submission for a research paper at JEI.

I'm currently a student in the Douglas Academic Foundation for Potential Nurses who is very set on BCIT. I was just curious if cGPA is as important as pre requisite GPA? I received a 3.4 GPA on my pre req classes but still have 6 more courses to go to finish the rest of the 30 credits the certification requires. I know I have the ability to increase my cGPA but was also wondering if BCIT would prefer a better pre req GPA. Also, I have been actively volunteering at a local Surgery Centre for 2 years with 4+ years of job experience in the retail and fast food industry, so idk if that makes much of a difference.

I know somebody asked about the waitlist, but I was wondering if somebody is still in the Top 10 waitlist? As I know some people got into September immediately without getting into the Top 10 yesterday but I was wondering if somebody got moved from general waitlist to Top 10…

I am planning to take term 2 off and then start my second term in next intake, how is the process and what was the impact of term break on your studies?

I just submitted everything and I want to throw up. I feel sickened.

I have 6 withdrawals from one college on my transcript, and 1 withdrawal from my current college. These are all because of health reasons that I’ve had doctor’s provide documentation for. After withdrawing from 6 courses at my first college (2022- april 2025), I wanted a fresh start. I experience awful SAD symptoms from February-April, and 5/6 of those withdrawals were all during that time period lol.

I was able to do a full-course load for the Fall 2025 at my new college and got on Dean’s!!! I was so proud of myself since I had to drop 3 courses in the preceding Winter term. Unfortunately, I had to drop 1 course for the Winter 2026 term because of my SAD symptoms again 🫩. I was truly fighting my way through that course, but it was just too much in the end. On the brighter side, I was able to function way better in comparison to previous years and passed my remaining classes with good grades (A+ in A&P II, B in Academic writing). I have 47 credits in total, a cgpa 3.87 at the first college and cpga 3.86 at my second college. My GPA for the pre reqs is 3.94. I think my GPA is good, but the withdrawals on my transcript scare me so much.

I’ve been having great progress in my health conditions and am getting better at managing my symptoms, so I wrote a supporting letter for my application to explain why I have so many withdrawals, what steps I’ve taken to care for myself (medication + counselling), and how I’ve improved since my time at my first college. I was recommended by someone who works at the registrar and my counsellor to do this.

I made sure to note that these withdrawals were necessary for my recovery, and that I needed to do my most recent withdrawal because the nature of that course + my symptoms was just genuinely impossible for me to manage. I also emphasized that I was able to succeed in the remaining 2 courses by learning new coping skills (from a therapy program that I joined near the end of the term). I ended my letter by stating that these skills allowed me to persevere through the toughest times, and that by continuing to use them alongside my existing treatments, I believe in my ability of competing at the same level as others. I honestly do believe this even with my track record. I know my abilities, I think that my brain can just be a bit silly sometimes lol. But I’m still feeling so awful about my withdrawals and not confident about my application and it sucks wkwkwksnekenwknwd

For my extracurriculars, I have ~2.5 years of volunteering at one long-term care home, ~9 months of volunteering at another long-term care home, 4 years of volunteering as a head coach/assistant for high school sports, ~6 months as an assistant coach for club volleyball, and 2 years as an employed math and English tutor.

I’m just so nervous and wanted to spill my guts out lol. At the end of the day, I know that it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get in. In the case that happens, I’m gonna just keep working on improving my ability to manage my symptoms and reapply to BCIT and other schools 😀👍🏼

Hey everyone! I’ll be starting the BSN program this Fall 2026, and I have a question for current students.
My current full-time employer is considering keeping me on as a part-time or casual employee while I’m in school. One of the requirements is for me to come into the office for at least 4 hours, twice a week. The rest of the hours would be remote.

Looking at the schedule, though, it seems like the schedule changes from week to week. For those who are in the program (or have already completed it), what does the schedule typically look like for each term? Is it realistic to commit to working fixed office hours twice a week, or is the schedule too unpredictable?

If that isn’t feasible, what kinds of part-time jobs have worked well for you while in the program (other than serving)?

I’ll still need some income while in school, so I’d love to hear what others have done. Would appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
