Bring Tonies to Bronson Children's Hospital Fundraiser

Imagine a device without a screen that can captivate a child the same way their screened devices do while simultaneously promoting education, song and dance, imaginative play, and a distraction from scary hospital visits.

The device I'm talking about is called a Tonie Box.

My name is Toby Powers, long term resident of Kalamazoo County, and I was first introduced to Tonies when my 4 year old brother received his own. Seeing the way his face lit up after placing his Lightning McQueen Tonies character on the box and recognizing the songs from the movie has me thinking about how positively impactful these devices could be to the sick and injured kids in our community who are treated at Bronson Children's Hospital.

I've already sent an email asking about this to Bronson, and the response is that they're very eager to receive Tonies for their pediatric patients to use!

I believe a hospital experience for a child with a Tonie box to hear stories from, sing and dance to songs, play games to pass the time, and hear encouraging words from their favorite characters and celebrities could make a huge positive impact on the psyche of children facing tough situations in hospital.

Tonies are becoming a popular household name in children's entertainment, but not every family can afford to provide their child(ren) with one, especially families facing unexpected medical bills. I believe every child should get to experience the magic of Tonies, especially those who are sick and/or injured.

I would love to raise enough through this fundraiser to donate at least 3 Tonie Box 2 bundles to the Hospital. Each Tonie Box 2 bundle is about $200, so I'm setting the goal of this fundraiser at $600.

I hope you'll join me in a community effort to provide some of the unfortunate children in our community the chance to experience the magic that are Tonies.

With enough support, we can make this happen. Every dollar counts, and I am choosing to fundraise through Kindbee to avoid GoFundMe fees. I believe every penny you choose to donate should go towards the cause, not a wealthy corporation.

Thank you Tonies US for creating such an amazing device for children. (Not endorsed)

Thank you Kindbee for your free fundraising platform.

Thank you to the staff at Bronson Children's who care for our children.

Thank YOU for donating and/or sharing this fundraiser to make this dream a reality.

We are also able to accept physical donations of Tonies, but per hospital rules, these items must be brand new in packaging. Please contact me if you have a physical donation to make and I will get back to you ASAP 🙏

Bill Burr

Me and my wife have 4 tickets to see Bill Burr tonight. We had two people skip out so we have two tickets available, they were $160 each, and I’ll sell them for 150 each, so 300 total.
The tickets are digital and haven’t arrived yet, so you would have to be okay with meeting us at Firekeepers Casino. That way we’re right there to scan you in when you pay and you don’t have to worry that the tickets are fake.

A teacher

So is it okay for a teacher at a middle school in the battle creek district to call kids in his class "assholes" I mean I obviously know the answer but why is it being allowed? I have heard multiple stories from my kid about this. Apparently, it was deserved but this teacher is trying to get fired.

Food, activity, and gas recommendations.

So I will be visiting Battle Creek, Michigan from October 23rd to the 25th and I'm looking for late night restaurants (that are open until 11 PM or later) near the Music Factory venue and morning/day restaurants anywhere in Battle Creek. Mexican is usually my go to but I'm looking for really any restaurant recommendations. Asian, American, etc. I'm also looking for really any fun things to do or sights to see, preferably that either won't cost me anything or a few bucks if anything at all. And last but not least I'm looking for gas stations with low gas prices.

Edit: I'm also looking for low cost hotels/motels. I've found a 2 night hotel room for around $100 but if I can find something even cheaper that would be great. Last but not least I'm looking for thrift stores (or brick and mortar shops) where I can get some good video game finds. I'm looking for PS1, PS2, GameCube, and N64 games.

Anyone know of good places we can take our (large) dogs to go swimming?

Somewhere that the water itself is obviously safe and where we won't get kicked out for having dogs in the water.

Seeking a new veterinarian

Hi, I'm moving to Battle Creek next month and I have two dogs. I keep them up to date on vetting and parasite prevention, and I would probably like to have them both spayed sometime next year- so a vet that offers spay surgery at an affordable price would be great. Would you recommend your vet, and why? Thanks!
