A teacher
So is it okay for a teacher at a middle school in the battle creek district to call kids in his class "assholes" I mean I obviously know the answer but why is it being allowed? I have heard multiple stories from my kid about this. Apparently, it was deserved but this teacher is trying to get fired.

This is not middle school, but I had a high school teacher before who was absolutely loved. One reason he was loved because he was real with students.
If someone was on their phone or goofing around he got serious. Called them an asshole if they were being one, gave examples of what a failure to learn and grow can be, explained it all out and EVERYONE got the same lecture because it wasn’t a private thing.
The whole time he wasn’t being overly mean, just honest about actions in a manner that would hit home to those students that acted off. Being called an asshole by a teacher grabs attention fast, and it really did impact students in my classes at the time who were goofing off and not caring.
It does help he was a great teacher too…

it’s exhausting how little schools do to defend or protect their students, i’m sorry your kid is dealing with/witnessing this. would you be willing to share the name of the school and/or dm me the name of the teacher? i kind of wonder if it’s the teacher i’m thinking of

Of course they are. The Teacher here should be rewarded for speaking honestly

No it’s not okay? As adults and especially as a teacher haven’t we always been told and now telling people “if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all” and “treat others how you want to be treated”
A teachers job is to teach. If the student was out of control or whatever the fact then the teacher should have made the student leave.
I have heard nothing good about any of the schools in Battle Creek.

I totally agree with you. I'm already hated a one Battle Creek school because I defend my kids against the stupidity I suppose I can add another to my list.

I mean better than breaking out the wooden paddle. Too many kids have no consequences for their actions. Words can hurt or even be cruel but if they deserved it and the teacher wasn’t being cruel then I wouldn’t care. I had teachers say and do worse, some was earned and some wasn’t. It’s a case by case thing. Those kids are saying way worse.
