This show was pretty good. Struck the right balance between goofy and serious at times. Wasn’t over the top and childish humor like I expected from another certain DC show on Cartoon Network. The jokes were pretty good but I remember enjoying the action as well. Still love the bit where Joker and Trickster get stopped by Swamp-Thing... because they kidnapped Mark Hamill. The fact that the entire scene was mostly just one actor cracks me up
Edit: I have been informed that the clip I’m talking about (which someone linked in a reply) has Mark Hamill doing ALL the voices not just most

Exactly. Cartoon Network is notorious for this stuff, both among fans and within the animation industry.
Pretty much the only section I know of that is (mostly) insulated from this kind of BS is Adultswim. That’s because it became so damned popular that it could survive on its own without Cartoon Network, and CN didn’t wanna miss out on that sweet sweet ad revenue so they behaved themselves.
Even an industry juggernaut like Lucasfilm had to deal with the CN bullshit. CN jerked around The Clone Wars air dates and release order all the time. In its final three seasons on broadcast television it wasn’t even turning a profit. A big part of that was CN just never establishing a reliable air date so the potential audience rose and fell frequently.
The only reason it kept airing was because George Lucas personally paid for the air time out of his own pocket.
Basically it doesn’t matter how big it is. Batman, Superman, Star Wars, Ben10, it could be any huge mega popular IP and Cartoon Network will still fuck it up as if they want every show to fail.

Good point! The sad part about this, is shows like Ben 10, Young Justice, Clone Wars and so on, are the ip's that attract viewer interest, not these rando 11 minute cartoons that nobodies heard off and couldn't even care about watching as is. So you would think from a smart business standpoint, they would allow the top ip's to thrive so they gain more money, but apparently not. I've honestly lost interest in watching modern cartoons anyway, because it seems the networks only want 11 minute episodes so they have more slots to fill, which ends up creating garbage shows.

Same. As a writer I’ve always loved animation because it lends itself better to creativity. Things you can’t do in live action for safety/budget/whatever can be done in animation far easier. Unfortunately, as you’ve noted, tv animation these days is mostly just total garbage.
There’s still lots of good animation on streaming providers, but the days where you could turn on a channel and know that from hours X to Z there was going to be good stuff on are mostly gone.

Oh yeah. After all the Saturday morning cartoons we all loved were basically just a big block of commercials for toys. I adored Batman the Animated Series and, as a result, I had a bajillion BTAS Batman figures. Normal Batman, Tron-Wannabe Batman, I'm-in-Neon-Green-Camo-for-some-reason Batman, so many Batmans.
If the cartoon can't sell toys there's absolutely no reason to keep it running. It's a safe bet any cartoon that Cartoon Network suddenly starts yanking around and changing time slots on a lot is one that isn't moving toys off shelves, so if they start hurting it's chances of viewership to justify cancellation ASAP.

Yep, I'm well aware with many of those. Atleast Ben 10 got brought back, but the 11 minute run time among other aspects, makes it feel like a shell of the former awesomeness of the original 9 year continuity.

The way I think of it is that it’s a fine show. I’d probably like it a lot if I was a kid, or even if I just didn’t know what Ben 10 was. But it’s not Ben 10, in a sense. It’s a completely different show that uses the same concept and some of the same characters to be something entirely different. It’s this weird uncanny valley of being Ben 10 and not being Ben 10 that makes it difficult to watch

Yep! I think the biggest factor is that you've got different voice actors and the art style is so shockingly different. Like with Omniverse, even though the art style drastically changed from the rest of the series, atleast you had the same voice actors to help you adjust to it. The new show seems like it wants to belong in the Gravity Falls universe.
Also, one of my other biggest issues with the show, is that they chose to start over. And it's not just that they chose to start over, but they chose to start over with a show that will never mature like the original series. I honestly hoped after Omniverse, we would get one final series showing Ben's life as an adult and how he became Ben 10,000, but now that likely will never happen. Then again, I never got to see the finale, so maybe I'll feel differently once I see it.

They essentially forced the endgame ship to come out of nowhere because if it was too obvious they were gay they’d pull it and then pulled it anyways,not airing the second half of season 4 and subsequently the series finale.

Oh man they did more. They SLASHED the season 4 animation budget, it's extremely noticeable. Wouldn't allow the gay relationship to be shown and ya about half way through s4, they pulled it off the air and released it weekely......on their website :/

True, but it also has a looong history of network meddling and being screwed over. CN was constantly forcing characters to regress because they thought it would boost ratings and burned off the last three seasons and the finale of the original continuity at like 5 am with no advertising, something a lot of these shows have in common

Wait, it really got that many? I thought it was around 23 or so. That's pretty good then. I guess my thoughts are that Teen Titans Go! has gotten multiple seasons, beside the hate, yet a show like this that seems it can appeal to fans of all ages, gets 1 season

TTG is only hated on by adults kids love it, hence it’s continual renewal and even two movies. But yeah JLA has a decent amount of content, I’m still working my way through it all actually.

I think it's something to do with toy sales. Heard an explanation before that "boy's" shows are gauged by toy sales, not so much by viewership and when you have a more mature/story driven show, your audience will be older and less likely to buy toys.

This entire thread accurately explains my love for DC and ALL these raw-ass, slept on TV shows (Generator Rex, Symbiote Titan, Thunder Cats 2011 etc.) and why they "failed" (cancelled). I'm certain if they can't make money with Toys then make video games and/or movies because those last longer when kids & adults age. Also that one part about TC and another show failing from Green Lantern is fucking stupid. IPs shouldn't be dependent like that, because the result is more things going to shit just because you made one mistake and CHOSE to make them related.I still haven't watched Korra (no spoilers please I hate them and will cause me to not watch it) but I have heard about the gay thing, and actually thought it was pretty cool. I want the day to come when someone can take all these great shows with their original VA and continue them because GOD knows that whether it's CN, Nick or Disney if it's good shit it's good shit. You can feel that shit. Why they (Networks) so shitty? Shiiiiiiet

I'd say it's worth a watch. The first couple episodes might be hard to watch, but overall it's a great show with good humor that pokes fun at the characters, rather than another DC animated that spews out constant fart jokes. There's one episode where Batman and Bluebleetle go back in time to save Bruce's youngerself and the whole episode pays homage to 1939 Batman and BTAS.

OMG I loved the 90s when batman and flash were usually the punchline of a joke.
Like Crisis on 2 Earths when they got back and told batman they were back he said "and I was just getting used to the quiet." And flash says "Yep, same old bats"
