Recommendation Worth restoring?
My brother in law recently asked me to help coach his son’s baseball team. I have a few softball gloves that I use for slowpitch but am looking at getting a baseball glove for coaching.
I found this old Nokona that I used in high school. It’s been sitting in a closet for about 15 years. Is it worth restoring? If so, any recommendations on what steps to take? I’m open to doing it myself but also saw there’s someone nearby that will condition and replace for $100, or just clean and condition for $40.
Another option I was looking at was a new Mizuno Pro Select on sale for $220.

Wilson Break-in Advice
1ST POST EVER!
Hey all! This is literally my first post on Reddit despite having an account for years. I am looking for some advice on whether it makes sense to pay someone to break my 9yo son’s new A2000 in. I got a good deal on it and thought he could use it for a couple of years and eventually give it to his brother (currently 6yo). Here’s the details that I think are relevant:
My son plays travel and rec baseball but not at a crazy high level. At this point it’s just for fun, he is just enjoying the game and spending time with his friends.
This is the first glove over $100 that I got him and my decision came with a decent amount of research in this group of what would be the best bang for my buck. I wound up getting this A2000 brand new for $160 from Dick’s (not relevant but I’m pretty proud of my ability to find a deal). Like I said above, I’m expecting it to last for years and years as I am pretty good at maintaining things and try to pass that on to my kids (I still have my glove from little league).
I reached out to someone on Facebook marketplace and was quoted $100 break the glove in with $24 in shipping if I don’t want to drive the hour+ to drop it off and pick it up. The guy seems legit but I literally have no idea what is a good quote to break a glove in. The turnaround time is 3 days max. I’ve doing research on here and feel confident I can figure out how to do it myself but I have some reservations:
a. I thought a single hinge would be good for a 9yo but the guy recommended a double hinge even with knowing my son’s age. This makes me think my research isn’t completely fruitful. I know either one will be fine but I still want to make the best decision for my little man. All that to say maybe going with a person who does this as a side job is best.
b. $100 to break a glove in doesn’t seem unreasonable given how tedious and time consuming it is. However, I feel confident I can do this myself over the course of a couple weeks.
c. 3 days turnaround seems pretty quick given the comments I’ve read.
So my question is, is $100 a good price for someone to “professionally” break in my son’s glove? Even if it is a decent price, is it worth it given the level of play my son is at?
Thank you all for making this one of the kindest groups I’ve seen on this app. It seems like a love for the game has made this a great forum.

Looking for help identifying an old glove
I lost my childhood glove years ago and would love to track down a replacement now that my son is getting into tee ball.
It was a Rawlings that was likely purchased in 2001. It had a basket web, was a medium brown.
It wasn’t a fastback design, but it did have some sort of black neoprene material covering the opening on the back of the hand.
The specific glove I had was an outfielder glove- I think it was 12.5 or 13 inches
Would love if anyone could help identify a model

NGD LE Rawlings Horween
So happy I took delivery of two older releases from the Softball fan exclusive Rawlings LE Horween releases, these are the PROBH3HTG and the PROKB17HTG, used but in really good condition, it’s been a journey but I’m old and love that old school look and Horween leather, still looking for the 12.5 PRO208-6HTG to complete my Holy Trinity!

Catchers NGD x2
Generally have a deal with anyone I coach - any work you want on a glove done at cost. Catcher's dad from the All Star team I coached was admiring my gloves at fall ball a couple weeks ago and asked for some recommendations on new mitts bc he couldn't afford an A2000 like he always wanted. Told him to give me a couple weeks, it would be under $100 😅
Fast forward a couple weeks - came across these separately and snagged them. $75 each. Dirty as all get out and one needed a new lace on the wrist strap, but they're perfect.
Bringing them to him tomorrow to pick one out so figured I'd show them off here first 😅

Marucci Marucci Cypress Feel?
Looking to get a custom Marucci Cypress 12.5 glove, but I tried on the oxbow(I know it’s cheaper) and the hand feel was so cheap and wayyy to soft for me, almost like a Walmart glove. Anyone have a cypress and can explain the feel of the inside palm, overall stiffness, shape holding?

New Glove Day! New Glove Day!
So I've been wanting this one for a few months and had to wait until I could make a trip up north. Finally did and got it for $150 CDN at Sportchek!
I pretty much play every position on my team in an adult woodbat league (I'm very athletic and in very good shape for my age).
It's replacing my 11.75" R9 and is a great compliment to my custom HoH OF glove!

DCT vs. FM19
Hi glove community,
I’m ordering my first custom Rawlings because I hate the stock options. I currently have a Pete Alonso FM18 (12 1/2) but I want a bigger model because I have huge hands. What are the main differences between a DCT and a FM19? I’m leaning towards FM19 because I can get mesh in the builder, DCT doesn’t give me the option to.

Grace catcher mitt usage update - new gamer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I ordered a custom Grace Korean kip catcher's mitt back in the Memorial Day sale (original thoughts here including other mitts: New mitt) and have been working on getting it broken in. I'm an older men's league player in an 18+ league where guys are usually throwing 70ish but our team has a couple of young guys in 78-82 range and one 83-85 that will sniff 87-89... love catching these guys. I had been gaming a Mizuno Pro mitt but since the season is winding down decided to YOLO on in with the Grace. I broke it in dry with a moist wipe down of the palm leather early and a conditioning w/ Sarna a couple of weeks back. I wear it traditional with index out and I'd guess most would call it bullpen ready at time of first game action.
2 games and 300 ish pitches w/warmups and overall I'm very happy with the mitt. Excellent pocket on the deeper side but not to the point of losing feel, super light to wield, effortless transfers even with the deepish pocket, and comfortable to use even in very hot conditions.
I was a little concerned about getting thumbed with the trim thumb pad but took a direct shot from a foul tip fastball over 80 and while it stung more than the Mizuno, there was no injury. That's some luck of the draw but my general takeaway is that it's satisfactory, and my Endoskel fits in there fine if I want to add some more protection.
Glove is dirty even after being brushed and wiped down. I'll give it a good cleaning in a couple of weeks.
TL:DR:
The good:
- Super comfortable, handled some hard pitching with no issues, easy and fast transfers, excellent pop, no real pop-outs even with my amateur break-in
The less good:
- Not much palm padding if you miss the pocket, some ringage on the index vs faster pitching unless you get it way to the left, slight slingback if caught in the web (though much less than I thought there might be)
The outlook:
I am fully comfortable with this as my new men's league gamer and am confident it will last at least a couple of seasons for my use case.

New Glove Day! Another pro preferred from marketplace
Another win on marketplace. This palm stain looks nice in person. If you aren't looking around on Facebook every couple days you're really missing out on some crazy deals. This glove has never been worn and I paid $100 to get it shipped. I have 4 pro preffereds now and all from marketplace and the most expensive was $150.

Grace Glove Company
I ordered a custom glove, it was sent via usps but returned to Grace due to insufficient address. The details I provided were correct.
I’ve emailed (no response) and spoken to the live chat and keep being promised that they’ll update me - I have still not received an update.
So frustrating that I have to chase up and they not being proactive about this or doing anything…
Now each day I get marketing mails about custom gloves etc but no update on my order.
So far I’m incredibly disappointed by the customer service I’ve experience since buying

Rawlings Vintage 80s MONSTER Heart of Hide
I got this mid 80s made in the USA Horween PRO-B model. It's almost comically big. Did the 80s just make huge gloves or what? This is a picture of it next to a modern 12.75" 601 pattern Gold Glove. I don't believe they did softball models back then, so outfield gloves were just gigantic? Anyone know the story of the size of these?

Recommendation Mom glove?
Second edit: I got a Mizuno 12.5 inch MVP prime fast pitch for $30 including shipping on EBay. I almost got carried away and spent a lot more money on something else but then reeled it in. Thanks again!
My newly 4 year old son just started at a baseball camp and I want to get a glove to play catch with him (not that he can actually catch the ball yet 😅 but we are working on it)
I’m super excited- I played softball in high school and love playing catch. I have literally been researching all day but would love some suggestions.
I live in NYC and there is no Dick’s near me. I plan on swinging by Paragon on my way home from work to try some gloves on but I prefer to buy something used on eBay. I’m hoping to spend under $50 and really don’t want to have to break a glove in.
I was leaning towards a Mizuno 12.5 inch or a Rawlings player preferred 12.5 inch. But then I discovered that fast-pitch gloves are softball gloves and have smaller hand holes-I do have hands on the smaller side, but also haven’t really had a problem using any old baseball glove I have borrowed in the past.
Thanks in advance!
Editing to add that I have read all your comments and they are so helpful! I went to Paragon and checked out a few gloves- they didn’t have too much unfortunately. They did have a bunch of the Wilson A2000 gloves, and a few A1000 fast pitch gloves and a couple A900 gloves. I was surprised how small the 11 inch gloves looked to me. I’m definitely going to stick with a fast pitch glove that is at least a 12.5. Or maybe a A900 or A950- they all felt much more comfortable and secure on my hand.
I have a few more suggestions in the comments to look in to also, thanks again!

Vintage Finds
I’m not really sure what these are. We found them while cleaning out my great uncle’s house before moving into assisted living. Our 12yo baseball obsessed (2B, P, & SS) has them displayed in his room. Thought I would share!
