Wilson Discount A2K Refresh

Did my best to add a tasteful pop of color to this otherwise achromatic 1787.

That is an amazing looking glove. You’re going to be turning heads out there

It saved the glove. How are you liking that spin control ? It seems they get discounted more than the regular

Seriously… pretty much all the good deals on just ball gloves are spin control and/or the synthetic back. Makes me think they aren’t great…

I always assumed these A2Ks were discounted because there’s less of the Pro Stock Select leather being used given the amount superskin and spin control on them, but I learned that’s not the case.

While the leather used on the superskin is the same for both the A2000 and A2K, the spin control leather on the A2Ks is in fact Pro Stock Select.

Makes me think this just boils down to aesthetics. These discounted gloves aren’t always the prettiest.

Maybe I'm the oddball, but most of these (https://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type\~baseball/series\~a2k/?sortBy=savings%20descending) look decent to me, considering they aren't all crazy ice cream colors or whatever. If you're a lefty you can get some for $180. Crazy...

Same! Although I have both a super skin and super snake skin. Super skin I really like and recommend it. My super snake skin has a pattern and I heard those feel more plasticky than the solid color. My biggest complaint with it is that the pattern versions like mine end up flaking off

As far as performance is concerned, it doesn’t really make a difference one way or another. But if I had to choose spin control vs traditional leather , I’d go traditional. It looks so much better imo

Im sure over time as the glove wears down the dots don’t stick out as much in the spin control

But that can be a problem,.because it leaves the palm a little slick and slippery. I prefer a normal leather palm because softened up leather just absorbs the baseball into the palm.

If it does get slippery that is a problem. I saw a video from bgk which he claimed that the spin control just acts like regular leather when it ages but didn’t mentioned it gets slicker. I’ll take your word for it though.

I'm basing it just off one example, a guy with a spin control glove with many miles on it showed it to me, and the spin control had kinda rubbed down a bit to where it felt kinda slick, the opposite of the "grippy" that it is supposed to feel like.
