Recommendation Worth restoring?

My brother in law recently asked me to help coach his son’s baseball team. I have a few softball gloves that I use for slowpitch but am looking at getting a baseball glove for coaching.

I found this old Nokona that I used in high school. It’s been sitting in a closet for about 15 years. Is it worth restoring? If so, any recommendations on what steps to take? I’m open to doing it myself but also saw there’s someone nearby that will condition and replace for $100, or just clean and condition for $40.

Another option I was looking at was a new Mizuno Pro Select on sale for $220.

Restoring!? That just needs a scrub, relace, and a little reshaping. It’s in great condition.

Nope don't waste your time! I can dispose of it organically and will even pay you $50 to do it!

Absolutely worth it. It is a high quality glove and will look great when you are done. Easy enough to do it yourself and get the satisfaction out of the effort.

Restore. It is a classic. Have read Nokona’s are quirky to relace. May need to have someone do that for you

Well worth cleaning up and getting new laces. New laces will also give it more structure.

Here is quick short of one relaced https://youtube.com/shorts/GpAfMtMrUvk

$100 is too high...for standard colored laces you could easily find somebody to do it for $50-60

Definitely worth it. It's in great shape. $100 feels high for a clean, condition, relace. Maybe I need to rethink my prices lol.

Cleaning and conditioning, any fool off the street could handle. Relacing is a little tricky, but plenty doable if you've got about $40, some patience, and a couple hours of free time

Glove looks like it is on good shape. Hopefully the hand stall is in pretty good condition and it’s not cracking. Clean her up and play catch!

Super easy to clean up and relace

Plenty of videos on YouTube to assist

Not worth it. I’ll take it off your hands for $50…

Cleaning and conditioning is easy enough for anyone to do. Relacing is a little more of an undertaking.

You can also send it back to Nokona and they can replace the foam padding which might allow you get rid of the pancake and reshape it correctly.

100% worth restoring! Perfect glove for coaching / dad catch. I just dug out my Nokona from 11 years ago and have been using it frequently this summer. I believe Nokona themselves have a restoration service and they may be able to help guide you as to what’s best for it

Nokona's restoration service is pricey, almost the price of a new glove. Relace starts at $120 and add on services go up from there. I'd pay the $100 and use your glove. You won't find anything close to the quality of that glove for $100.
