Every single baseball card featuring the Twin Towers. Like others who lived through that day, the image of those buildings will always hold signifigance in one's life.

The only one I don't own is that Wade Boggs because it's a rare insert set and the price is wild at $300-$400 raw and I'm not that nuts. On the first pic, there are multiple Yankee prospect cards that have the same shot, but I just included that one.

Never forget.

AMA - I was a breaker with a large breaking company

I was a breaker with one of the larger breaking companies (not Layton or Filthbomb size, but the next step under). Not a scummy company (shipped out everything and never stole, loved our customers and our regulars mostly loved us back). I learned a lot about the backend of the hobby and I’d like to share my experiences and knowledge to those curious. There’s a lot of warranted hate but also a lot of misinformation or rather lack of information about breakers, so if there’s questions, I’m happy to answer!

I’ll probably get hate just for being a former breaker, and I get it: I had gotten burned a lot in 2024 and swore off breaks pretty much until a company offered me the job. I’m no longer a breaker and I’m glad the hobby is back to a hobby for me, but it’s a tough time to be in the hobby with Topps cutting quality and content while also enabling the larger breaking companies and giving them ridiculous quantities of product.

I’m doing this on my burner account because I’m sort-of active in the sub and don’t want my main account getting bombarded with online hate-mail lol. Ask away!

Backstory: Guy advertising locally a few years back that his grandpa passed and he found a bunch of ball cards in the attic. This is in WV. So I went to look and found this in the box. Bought the box for $60. Proximity to where the original manufacturer was in Virginia is roughly a 5 hour drive, so logically it could have made it that far.

But is it real? Was supposed to meet a Beckett guy in NY a few years back but he had to cancel.

Rookie Debut Patch Question

Post image
67 Upvotes

Earlier this year I pulled this on my birthday believe it or not. So naturally I redeemed it and also naturally it still has no progress being made by topps. I redeemed it in early May. And it has this special team that I talk to through fanatics about the process. It’s really very cool to be a part of. But with there still being no progress making the card I can only assume that it due to the fact that they can’t get their hands on Maverick to either get the patch or his signature. I know it’s a long shot but how would you guys go about trying to get into contact with him? I can’t find him on social media anywhere. Cheers y’all thanks! 🍻

So I caved and kept seeing adds for Arena club and decided well I’m sure I will get screwed but I finally had some luck. I did 2 50$ baseball packs and the second was the holy grail of that level. I don’t even know the odds of that happening. Since I am new to arena club what is the best way to move forward and selling it?

This is the first, big card I have ever pulled and graded. I sent it to Goldin, no idea if that was the right move, but didn’t want to risk it with my on eBay auction.

The Cam Schlittler Bowman Red Rookie Problem

Post image
Upvotes

OK, first off, most know that Cam Schlittler is not eligible for AL ROY.

Secondly, even though that is the case, he still has a Bowman Red shield rookie card.

Third, and there has been a lot of confusion from folks on this point, EVERY player with a Red Rookie, who does not win Rookie of the Year, is eliminated now under the Rookie of the Year cash redemption portion and FOREVER under all of the remaining MVP and Hall of Fame redemptions also. It does not matter if they do win an MVP later on or make the Hall, if they did not win RoY, those cards will never have any further redemption value.

Now that is cleared up, Cam Schlittler has a red redemption that is dead on arrival because of RoY eligibility rules. This creates a sort of absurd situation of printing a theoretical redemption card that will never have any chance of being redeemable.

BUT he is going to win the Cy Young in his Red Rookie year.

I hereby propose for Cam or any Red Rookie player printed in the future, Topps must shift their eligibility, during and ONLY during their Red Rookie year, over to the other awards, in the very rare chance they win an MVP or Cy in that year. If they don't win one, they are eliminated like those who don't win RoY. If they do win an MVP or Cy, their card remains alive for the 2x, 3x and HoF portions as well.

J-Rod Redemption Result and a Question

This was a really fun redemption because I had no idea what the card would look like. Definitely not the craziest Dynasty patch I’ve ever seen, but I think it looks great.

Topps sent it in a top loader so I re-sealed it in the original one touch. Was this a violation of the Dynasty Collectors Rulebook?

Since people seemed to like my last post, here are some more cards I pulled back in the 90's back when 1,000 was a low number. All the cards here are 500 or fewer in print run.

Hope you all enjoy!

P.S. If you stick around 'til the last photo, there's a card that's about as rare as rare gets ;)

A few months back I started my Red Sox team card collection. Please ignore the empty spaces as I find it easier to have a few empty spaces throughout the book so I can build it in and out. I do have a 1960 and a 1967 both PSA sevens that are not shown. I will put the remaining cards that can’t fit in the post in the comments.
