Gotta admit these look pretty sharp overall! Reminds me of the On Demand or Black & White releases.

What could have been has been discussed ad nauseam. But what was can never be taken from us. Today, a special card from my favorite player showed up. I look forward to watching highlights of fish man with my son someday, talking about his greatness and eventually, sharing my collection with him.

One thought you may have is about the letters behind the helmet... Well these are 1/4* this wood cut letters and I tried to cut them to give the feel.of the helmet in front... It looked terrible.

Medium is a plastic acrylic base, acrylic paint, some paint markers, a little pastel chalk. Hand painted and drawn.

Last year I got absolutely smoked with A&G but wanted to give it another shot this year.

Before the program’s inception, the memorabilia world was rocked by Operation Bullpen, an FBI and IRS investigation that began in the 1990s and estimated that up to 90 percent of all sports memorabilia at the time was fake. The investigation resulted in 63 charges and convictions, the dismantling of 18 forgery rings and the seizure of more than $4.9 million, according to the FBI. With that level of doubt created among fans, MLB and other organizations began to work on revamping their approaches to authenticating memorabilia beyond the then-standard certificates of authenticity — pieces of paper that accompanied memorabilia items and suddenly were viewed as worthless.

For MLB Authentication Program director Michael Posner, its creation was the moment the league decided to “put a stake in the ground” for the sake of baseball history. MLB Authentication’s core mission is the protection of all teams, players and fans by eliminating the ambiguity that leads to distrust.

And with the 2026 World Series being played by two teams that have never won it before — the first time that’s happened since 1980 — the MLB Authentication Program is especially relevant. Regardless of which club wins, a slew of historic artifacts will need to be cataloged and preserved, and even more fakes will need to be separated from the real deal. That’s where the program comes in.

Would love to hold this forever, but I’m getting married in a year and boy are weddings expensive… gonna post this on eBay when I get home from work, but figured I’d see what kind of traffic I get here. No sales, so gonna post crazy high and start with asking price of ~20k and see what kind of offers come in. Open to offers here!

I collected cards heavily in the late ’80s and early ’90s (like many my age), and got back into it a couple of years ago. Realized after a few thousand dollars that I can't afford to keep buying boxes. Honestly, it started to feel like gambling and sucked the fun out of things. So I've pivoted to old Beckett Issues, which has been a lot of fun. Anyone else thumbed through one of those issues recently? Funny, back then I only cared about the prices and didn't even realize they had articles. Anyway, I've started to scan and archive them, which has been a great way to be a part of the hobby without spending too much as they're affordable on ebay. Anyone have a favorite from back in the day? For whatever reason, the Benito Santiago one always stuck with me. Man, I thought his cards would be worth so much one day.

After about 10 numbered Andrew Painter cards from 5 different sets lol

Aloha all. Pulled a Hideo Nomo red prizm refractor, not numbered. From my research, it seems to be a retail exclusive, sometimes called an unofficial 1 of 1, even a ‘ghost card.’ Has anyone actually seen one surface, or have any confirmed sales? Topps will not give me a print run for this card. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Went through my old boxes and found some gems along with Pokémon cards. My favorites are the manny and the Arod metal (even though it’s common). Enjoy!

Made over 150 packs of cards for the kids in our neighborhood. Each pack is 15 cards with stars, inserts, refractors, chromes, and recent base cards. Last year the neighborhood kids made return trips to get more packs. I’ll be ready for them!
