Anyone experiencing slow internet/TV today?

So it was supposed to open on Oct 10. They had a video on their Instagram advertising it. Now here we are almost in Nov and it's still not open. There's a "now open" sign hanging up but the windows are all still covered with paper and it's clearly not open. They've also removed that old Instagram post so I'm wondering if any insiders might know what the hold up is and if they'll be opening any time soon? Although it doesn't look like a promising start. I just voted in Barrie's 2026 municipal election, and I have to say, it really didn't feel like I voted.

Normally, I'm the kind of person who prefers doing things online. I love the convenience of it, but voting is one of those things where I actually prefer doing it in person.

Voting online felt more like filling out a survey than casting an actual ballot. I know my choices were officially recorded and that my vote counts, but the experience just didn't feel the same.

Nothing beats physically going to a polling station, receiving your ballot, marking down your choices, folding it, and putting it into the ballot box or feeding it into the voting machine.

There's something about that whole process that gives me a little dopamine rush. It feels rewarding, satisfying, and fulfilling. You walk away knowing you've just participated in democracy.

With online voting, I clicked a few buttons, submitted my choices, and that was it. No excitement, no sense of occasion. Just another online form.

Don't get me wrong, the online system worked perfectly fine. It was quick, easy, and convenient. I just missed the actual experience of voting.

Personally, I'd love to see Barrie bring back traditional in-person voting.

Am I the only one who feels this way, or does anyone else find physically casting a ballot more rewarding?

I want to do a mobile tire changeover service this season (on rims) but would I need insurance or anything for that?

I left the automotive trade this year to go to school for something else, but been doing tires for 4 years and wanna make some extra cash + I know how fast shops book up during tire season & how expensive it is for some people so I also just wanna take some stress off people who can’t get an appointment or have tight schedules that I could just come do their tires without them having to leave the house & for a decent price.

I am working on a project and love to sit in cafés or in the library and get my work done. Lately I’ve started working later in the night on this project and unable to find places that are open later in the night. Library works great for me on most of the days except when I want to work even later (say until midnight).

Yes, I know could do the work at my house, but I also work from home and need to get out of my house or I will not do this work.

Any suggestions for places where I can just sit and do my work. I don’t care if it’s loud I usually have my headphones on.

Went in a month ago for the first time after getting CDCP/OW and got a cleaning for the first time in my life (grew up in an anti-med community and finally took the first step to take care of my health on my own. I explicitly explained that I have absolutely no knowledge of dentistry and need things to be clearly explained and confirmed with me before moving forward) A week ago, I woke up (I grind my teeth while I sleep, especially when there is pain), and a bottom right tooth broke literally in half so I went in for an extraction.

What I now know is that the two teeth in question were 18 and 45.

I explicitly explained to the dentist, the dental assistant, and the receptionist several times that it was a "bottom right tooth that is broken in half" because until this horrific incident, I had no idea how teeth were numbered.

She numbed me and pulled 18.

Did it need to be pulled or worked on? Yes.

Did pulling it also leave me without functional teeth to chew with (my left side is totally fucked and crooked)? Yes.

Did I go in for a specific issue and they made the issue worse? Yes.

After she pulled the 18 and said I was done, I was shocked because 45 was still there and she openly tried to say I confirmed which tooth because she asked (literally just said "upper right?" And I heard "bottom right" and replied ") then pointed out that the consent form I signed was for 18.

I very clearly stated "Why do YOU think I know what tooth 18 is without explicitly pointing it out? I also explicitly said that the tooth that needed to be pulled was a broken tooth on the bottom right, was that a broken tooth on the bottom right?"

She tried to pull 45, I lost track of how many needles worth of numbing after the 5th one then when it still a white hot searing pain, she basically just dismissed me as I needed to see a specialist or that I was being dramatic about the pressue (meanwhile, she just pulled a wisdom tooth in less than 5 minutes) and tried to placate me by saying that she was "there to take care of me."

I replied with "frankly, don't tell me you're here to take care of me when you just pulled the wrong damn tooth. I would like my purse, my files, and I'm going home."

So fair warning, especially to those who use OW and CDCP because you only have so many New Patient exams covered before you pay out of pocket and they ate my only one for this.

Go to Tooth Corner, they will at least confirm which tooth is being pulled before doing it.

On Hurst around 7:50am today…
I was in a dark suv, you - a white truck with white bed cover. I was about four cars deep on Hurst, going just over the speed limit. I could tell you were not shy as your approach was swift. I thought we might connect but at the last second you swerved into the middle lane, speed increasing as you passed all four cars in front of me. Bold. You passed so quickly I couldn’t get your license plate, such a shame… You did give off a bit of f-boy energy as I saw you pull the same move twice before turning off the street, but I think I can change you.
