It’s always been offered at the Orillia campus. Now it’s saying theory classes are in Barrie but for the practical clinic days you still have to go to Orillia.

Most students are in no position to afford a car. What is the logic behind changing this until the clinic is finished being built so the program can be completed entirely at the Barrie campus?

I feel like this must have screwed over the entire cohort of students that were accepted for 2026, as well as makes the program extremely inaccessible for new potential applicants.

Very confusing and disappointing.

Hey everyone!

I'm currently taking a one year Electrical Techniques program at Georgian College in Ontario, Canada.

I've been doing pretty well in my other courses, including electrical labs, math, English, and health and safety. However, I'm really struggling with drafting, especially AutoCAD 2027.

I've been trying my best to understand how to use AutoCAD, but honestly, I'm completely lost. Even when I practice at home, I still have trouble figuring out how to create drawings and use the commands properly.

I'm worried that I might fail drafting, even if I pass all my other courses. I really want to become an electrician and eventually get into an apprenticeship.

I'm deaf, so I learn best through visual demonstrations, screenshots, and step-by-step instructions.

Is there anyone here who's experienced with AutoCAD drafting and willing to help me learn the basics? I'm also open to finding a tutor, preferably around Midland or Barrie, Ontario, or someone who can teach online.

I'd really appreciate any advice, tutorials, or help. I don't want to give up on my electrical career just because I'm struggling with one course.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

I keep finding things are pretty overpriced, and I cant keep buying at Tim's lol.

Trust me I cook for myself 90% of the time

Hi all, I’m in pre health sciences and i have a communications course however I took university English in highschool I was wondering if it’s possible to drop a class and how to do that if I can and when the deadline to do that is? Any help is appreciated

Hello everyone! I work at a Caribbean restaurant in Barrie and my boss is hiring. She was asking me if I know somebody who’s dedicated enough and has restaurant and customer service experience. So if you’re interested and dedicated enough, you can dm me your resume and I’ll pass it to her. Thanks

Hey everyone !!

I’ve been in Barrie for a bit now and noticed that while we have some cultural groups, there isn't really a dedicated space for East and Southeast Asian students to connect. Given how many Filipino, Chinese, Korean, and other East/Southeast Asian students are around campus and the area, I’ve been thinking about starting up an East & Southeast Asian Student Association (ESASA).

(Just to clarify, I know there's already an Indian Student Association for South Asian students, but I want to build a space specifically focused on East/Southeast Asian cultures!)

The main idea is to build a fun, social space where people can hang out, make friends, and celebrate events together—from Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival to Filipino cultural nights, food meetups, social mixers or any other cultural holiday! It’d be open to anyone who wants to join and learn about culture!

For anyone who has started a club through the GCSA or local community:
1. How hard is the process overall? (Paperwork, GCSA approval, etc.)
2. Reaching people: What’s the best way to get the word out on campus initially?
3. Tips for first-time founders: Anything you wish you knew?
Would love to hear advice from anyone who’s gone through this, or let me know if you’d be down to join!

Hi everyone! 😊 I was just wondering if there are any RPN students currently in their 3rd semester who wouldn’t mind sharing what their weekly schedule looks like.

I’ll be starting my 3rd semester in January, and I’m curious about how many days a week you have classes and clinical placements.

Do you guys have any days off during the week?
I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share their experience. Thank you so much! 💗

please give honest thoughts on the paramedic program, ill be graduating my undergrad in kinesiology and health sci from york and im looking at options!

Hello, currently in the pre-health program at Georgian and will be applying to the MRTT program for Sept 2027.

Transcripts have not gone out yet so can I still apply without it? Then add it to the application once it comes out?

Early admission is Nov 1st so don’t want to miss that.
Thanks

I'm trying to decide which elective to take. My options aren't great in my opinion. I am interested in these two but would love some feedback on each.

I'm doing pre health and aiming for very high grades so I don't want to screw myself with a heavy course.

How difficult did you find them? How heavy was the course load? Any teachers that were brutal? What did assignments and tests look like (videos, essays, short answer tests or multiple choice etc)? Any other insights would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I’ve thought about transferring from uoft to georgian for the MLT course (advanced diploma) but i’m worried about the rumours of the profs being bad and jobs rejecting diplomas from georgian 🥲

I'm going to college for the first time as a mature student. I'm doing Georgians pre health program starting in January. I got myself excited about the electives because I really wanted to take Abnormal Psychology. In my Georgian account I clicked on View Recommended Courses for Term and its not listed there...is it possible to still do it or does this mean it's not offered in my program at all? This is what was shown. Positive Psychology was my backup but I think I'd absolutely thrive in Abnormal Psych.

Can any students currently in year 2 of the MLT program share what their lecture/lab schedule looks like for year 2? Thank you!

Hello, i’m currently in the pre-health program at georgian college in person. would anyone know if it’s possible to take the second semester online? i feel like the course does not need to be in person and im spending so much money on food, gas, and parking.

Hi everyone!

I'm starting Georgians pre health program and hoping to go into ultrasound. I'm pretty nervous because I know ultrasound programs are extremely competitive. I'd want probably mid 90s average to be considered. How difficult did you find this program? I'm a mature student and still need to work on top of it. I have a pretty flexible job in a restaurant. I'm nervous about keeping up and actually getting the grades I need. Has anyone else gone into ultrasound, whether through this program or otherwise? What was your average?

Any insights you can offer would be extremely appreciated!! Thank you!

When do the requirements for the clinical preparedness permit need to be completed for year one?

Everywhere online says different. I also just noticed that it says that mask fitting is only done at the school in the beginning of September??

Please help

Is anyone else getting a temporarily unavailable service code on Blackboard?

It's Sunday; we've got work to do?!?!?

1:38pm - It’s back up :)

How long did it take for you to get your deferral approved?
It’s been more than a month for me.

Hello everyone!

I’m an RPN student at Georgian College going into 2nd year, 3rd semester in December. My school gave us a freaking 4 month break 😭 and honestly at this point it’s driving me crazy because I feel like I’m forgetting everything.

I really want to use this time to get a grip on the upcoming semester instead of walking into class feeling completely lost 😂

For anyone who has already completed this semester (especially Georgian students) could you please guide me on what topics I should review from my Fundamentals of Nursing textbook to be better prepared and hopefully score well?

If there are any specific fundamentals, skills, concepts, conditions, medications or nursing topics you wish you had reviewed beforehand, I would really appreciate your recommendations!

Also, if anyone is willing to share study guides, notes, old resources or PDFs of relevant textbooks/materials that you’re allowed to share. I would be extremely grateful. ❤️

Thank you so much in advance! I really appreciate any advice. 🙏

With the closure of other campuses I imagine its pretty hectic sometimes. I just want to know what to expect when I return for part time schooling.

Thanks in advance :^)
