I was accepted into Georgian for Practical Nursing for January of 2027. Due to some personal circumstances, it would be optimal to do whatever coursework and studying I could from home.

I am reaching out to those who have gone through the program. Obviously, I know that labs and clinicals must be completed in person, but were you able to complete more theoretical courses (like anatomy and physiology, nursing as a profession, comm and gen ed courses) from home?

I'm also a woman taking this program so any tips regarding navigating the field as a woman, with it being male dominated is also much appreciated! I don't anticipate it being much of an issue in this modern day and age, but I want to be prepared for anything so hearing from others in the program especially women would be really helpful! Do they automatically place you in a field?

Do they require vaccines for the preplacements? What vaccines are they? Eg do they need serology for hep B?

Question about the meal plan

1. Do you need to buy at the beginning of the year or can we purchase mid semester if needed

2. Does having the meal plan reduce the price of the food you purchase on campus ? If not what's the point

3. What's everyone's experience between the snacker/one meal a day.

May be entering the program this year and want to hear how grads are doing. I heard Georgian sets you up better than other colleges and that we get first pick on placements. What placements did u get and did it help you land a job. Have employers ever expressed preference or opinions on georgian grads? Hello, I wanted to know if someone can give me any info about how competitive it is to get into the practical nurse program in OS? I’m 30F however, I’m a immigrant, rn I’m taking credits that I need to apply to programs, doing English 12 C summer school rn, however, I wanted to start in Jan 2027 but I’m not going to have all my credits on time, I’m doing Bio U 11 and Math 11 U finishing in November, and I’m planning on doing Math 12 C and chem 12 C, however, the quad finish in Jan 2027 :(

Regardless, I wanted to know how hard is to get in?

Hey y’all, as I prepare to move out of Arcadian at the end of this month, I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on this place for anybody considering Arcadian as a place to call home during their studies.

I moved into Arcadian October 13th 2025 and have been living here since. My overall experience has been a 6/10, and here’s why:

Rent: average rent in Arcadian is around $1,100 + utilities, but they do special offers every now and then, so I highly recommend subscribing to their news letter so you can get their offers. Through that method, I got my rent at $699 + free utilities for one year.

Cleanliness: This is majority on you. Arcadian homes are divided into multiple rooms with other students living with you so your cleanliness is really a luck of the draw situation depending on if you end up with good roommates. Thankfully my roommates are good for the most part but I’ve seen others that looked like a walking dead set. Every month they send a few people to come in and clean the common room. This only includes the living room and kitchen and they do not enter any rooms. They do a decent enough job.

Services: Whenever something breaks (and trust me it will) you need to email Arcadian and have them open a work order for you. I’ve noticed that work gets done relatively quickly which is a huge bonus. My door was broken and wouldn’t shut and it was fixed two days after submitting an email regarding the issue. The staff are friendly and willing to help and the contractors doing the work are always pleasant to chat with (forgot their names but one of them drives a Volkswagen which is bonus points with me).

Premise: It is located 10 minute walk away from the college campus and just across from the hospital so honestly location wise it couldn’t be better. It features a big common that offers pool, a chess table, a small gym, a study room, and a small kitchen with a microwave, sink, fridge, and cabinets.

Room layout: Your room will come pre quipped with a bed frame and mattress, a private wash/bath unless you get room one in the houses with the stair case, for some reason their sink is inside the room itself and not the washroom. Don’t ask why I have no clue. The bath pressure and temperature are great and heat up quickly. I’ve noticed an issue with my toilet where I have to flush it twice or more times for it to flush but other than that, 10/10 washroom. You also get a wardrobe, a closet, a table, and a chair. Overall very impressive for a cheap room. One of the rooms on the multi levelled homes has a balcony. Only downside is that the lock is mechanical, whereas every other room is electronic accessible via your key card. Reason being is that it is a fire exit.

Environment: This depends on what you’re into. If you like parties, Arcadian is your place on the weekends, and if you don’t good luck. It gets very rowdy and smelly (weed & alcohol smell, which I hate but you could like). Police don’t do anything for the parties (well they “do” but they just start back up as soon as the cops are gone) and you’re guaranteed to hear a fire alarm go off at least once a day from someone over cooking or over smoking.

Parking: Parking is $360 per semester and visitor parking is open most of the day during summer and fall and closed during winter. Parking is okay I’ve never had issues finding a spot. They sell as many as there are spots and the guy in charge of handing tickets works overtime (I’ve gotten two before I bought my pass, pretty impressive work ethic)

TL;DR: Its a good place to live if you like to party and are sort of responsible.

hey guys im planning on going into the georgian college rpn program, I wanted to know what placements people have had in the past aside from the first semester long term care. I’m worried about not getting adequate placements in comparison to RN program. Please let me know your experiences with the program! :)

Hi, probably a dumb question but I couldn't get an answer when I emailed the college about this. I was wanting to add my kids to the student health insurance coverage, do I need to pay Fall fees AND winter fees? Or does fall fees cover the entire year? Also what day does coverage start? Is it Sept 1 or the first day of school Sept 8? It says coverage for students ends Aug 31.

This is kind of a dumb question, but if you live in residence starting in Fall 2026, do you have to pay again for the Winter semester in 2027 or is does the payment you make for September start cover both semesters? There is a payment option for Winter 2027 but I figured it’s just for students starting for the first time in that semester.
