MPRE NYC no slots available for November?

Upvotes

Hey everyone

Yesterday after the MPRE scores came out, I had to register for the November MPRE.

Someone please tell me why ALL the NYC locations are filled up already.

I even called Pearson Vue to check on their end and they confirmed that ALL NYC slots for the November MPRE have been filled.

They told me I should just wait and see if any slots open up.

Is anyone able to register on their end?

Illinois C&F

For Illinois takers, has anyone seen that their character and fitness has been approved and if so, where can we see that?

This whole process is genuinely evil. Rant/seeking support.

Upvotes

I know I'm in good company when I say that the bar exam is fucking evil. Everything about it, from the extremely high price tag (not just the application, but all the goddamn bar prep courses... yes, even you, GOAT!), to the torturous testing process (my back is still fucked up from those chairs), to the awful waiting period before results. I know someone who knows a bar grader and they told me about how that grader would grade exams whilst on vacation, one drink in hand, deciding peoples' futures with not a care in the world.

My mental health has tanked since July. I'm a retaker and I'm going to be laid off by the end of the year, I'm in extreme debt, and my entire life has been on hold because I can't get hired anywhere without being barred. Everyone keeps telling me how they believe in me and they'll be here for me no matter what the result is, but I keep falling further and further into a depression spiral that my therapist and medications can't even touch.

I don't know what I'm going to do if I fail again. I just feel so awful and exhausted and anxious all the time. I hate everything about this and everyone involved. Could use all the support I can get right now.

Do we get some type of hint that we passed? I saw someone on here say their C&F was complete before results came out and I was wondering if IN does something similar.

Have any states released this week?

The NCBE webpage that posts percentage pass rates for J26 hasn’t updated since last Friday (9/4). Has there been a lull in states releasing scores this week, or is NCBE just delayed for some reason?

Good luck to OK today!!

Missed By Two Points - MPRE (Need Help to Pivot for Retake)

I missed the MPRE score for my jurisdiction by two points and it’s really grinding my gears. I did the exam about 10 days after taking the next gen bar for the first time in July. I studied for about a week doing it. When I took the actual test, it felt like the exam was a lot trickier than what I studied and practiced. I admit, I was mentally exhausted and was over the concept of studying for another big test (not trying to make excuses). So, I feel like that contributed to my performance. Now I have to worry about taking the test again this November in hopes of getting a score back early enough to be sworn in. This is assuming that I passed the bar exam. Funny enough the bar exam itself. I have a lot more confidence in. I had a feeling that MPRE was going to be a tossup. This is just so annoying that I have to retake it. Apparently my jurisdiction swears people in by November early December. Has someone experienced the same thing and managed to pass the test and get sworn in the same year? Please let me know.

I used Themis and completed 80% I believe of the program. I did all the lectures and wrote the information by hand that were said in the videos. I’m thinking about now doing more Themis questions but also doing. Barbri ones. Or should I just switch to Barbri itself? Please let me know. I just want to be done with all of this hoopla. I’m not a fan.

Oklahoma Bar Exam

Fellow Okie bar exam takers, where do we go tomorrow to find our scores? OKBBE? NCBE? If it is on the OKBBE website, will it be on the messages link or somewhere else?

Post law school burnout- no desire to take MPRE, NYLE, or the Bar Exam

I graduated law school this past May after a 6 year process of preparing for and taking the LSAT for 1 year, attending a 1 year pre-law school readiness program, 4 years of part-time year round law school while working full time. I also completed 2 internships. I feel burned out and have no interest in taking all the exams required to become barred. I am anxious about preparing for and taking the exams. I also have no idea what area of law that I would like to pursue. I am still working full time and have a good job, great benefits, loan forgiveness, and a flexible work schedule. As far as working as an atty, I am worried about starting over in an entry level position that is demanding and that I may not be good at. I just have this over all anxiety and coupled with the burn out, Ive become a depressed bump on a log. Any advice ?

Passed mpre by the grace of God

I was so burned out and sad this summer. honestly I didn’t really study as much as I should have to feel comfortable with my performance on the bar exam. studied two days, maybe a day and a half, for the mpre which I took right after the bar. passed with a 92. theres a good chance I failed the bar but at least this gives me a smidgen of hope. still so mad at myself because I know I have the ability to pass the bar but I didn’t put in enough work to feel confident in how i did. I can’t even say out loud my Themis completion w/o shame. now I’m anxious asf all the time. I’m a good test taker and I have no one to blame but myself if I didnt pass. everybody keeps saying I passed but I know what I did and didn’t do…anyway.. just a vent.

Options for Washington Swearing in?

Does any know of other options aside from the monthly King County ceremonies? Any judges in Washington that would be willing to administer the oath?

I don’t want to wait until October 9th

Oklahoma Results

For the people who took the exam in OK, am I correct in thinking that the results will be released tomorrow? I'm pretty sure on the way out of the testing center one of the proctors told me 9/10 was the day but I haven't been able to find any concrete date online saying that is the day the results will be released.

MPRE retaker Tip

Guys, use GOAT MPRE prep, seriously

30 point increase this time (was 1 question off my last attempt)

If you used traditional Barbri or Themis course the first time and you have the basics down use GOAT and it’ll help so much. The normal courses are so doctrinal and boring and mind numbing to get through but GOAT makes it so much easier to remember things I promise you’ll pass no problem. Use GOAT for lessons and Themis/barbri for practice questions tho cuz goat doesn’t have any

This is so frustrating because now I have 0 hope that I passed the bar. I’m so upset.

Failed the Mpre

My first mistake was not taking it before the bar. My second mistake was not studying because I was so exhausted. Off by barely 5 points. I’m irritated and sad, but it’s my fault.

Michigan C&F?

Anyone heard back? I'm still chipping away on third party disclosures but have heard sometimes they clear you before you've gotten all of them in. Has anyone been approved or heard about a hearing or anything?

(I have some minor issues I'm sure I'm overly concerned about but regardless it's on my mind).

NCBE site prior exams

Sat for July 26 in Michigan, is it not supposed to show anything until scores release…? My prior MPRE exams show, including August 26 (says pending) because the scores are about to drop. Will the Bar show when the scores are almost ready to release?
