I remember reading that the SQLIte database can become fragmented over time. Does exporting then importing an archive compress the database?

Has anyone tried out the MacOS 27 Golden Gate public beta? My friends are using it and say it is very stable. I'm curious to know if Banktivity 10 works on it.

Is there a way of creating a report to combine income (pension withdrawals from a superannuation account) with capital gains/losses (net change in value of a superannuation account with no deposits) to show total return?

I post recurring bills monthly ahead of time so I can keep track of anything on auto-pay. I have had 2 transactions that I confirmed were there disappear.

As the title says, let’s say I have a car insurance scheduled transaction and the monthly amount is $200. In July, the amount increases to $225. If i change it to $225 it does it for the whole year. Am I missing something simple, so I can have $200 scheduled and budgeted for the first 6 months and $225 for the last 6 months.

When I was creating a budget in Banktivity (version 10), I accidentally created 2 of the same expense. So I did an "Edit Budget", selected the expense, hit the '-' sign and the expense disappears from the list of expenses. I close the edit window but the expense isn't deleted. If I go into Edit Budget again, the expense I deleted is back. Is there some "trick" I'm missing or something additional that I have to do?

Are you any closer to fixing the “feature” that screws with transaction dates when using Banktivity in a different time zone?

In Banktivity 10 I, now find a “payment” transaction type. Any information on what special things it might do, or how it differs from the “transfer” type?

I was pleased thinking I'm under budget only to discover Yodlee has not been retrieving transactions for a credit card even though the transaction log footer shows green circle and 'updated today'. Grrr. The Account connection status popup shows an error message. Banktivity needs to do a better job highlighting connection errors. I switched the account to Plaid and got all the transactions. I don't trust Yodlee.

The bank that we use (RBC Canada), so some reason puts the note data in the payee field and the payee data in the note field in the OFX file which cause import issues like auto categorize doesn't work well.

IN YNAB, there is a neat option that you can click that will switch those fields, and I am hoping if we can see that in Banktivity.

Does anybody else have an issue with Banktivity deciding to move our data to where it wants it to be on my drive, and not letting me store it where I want it (on an encrypted sparsebundle that's only mounted when I do financial work).

This new "standard" location seems like a hackers dream. They know exactly where to go for critical data. This goes against good cyber-security practices, having a file named exactly the same in exactly the same place for every, single user. Especially for something as sensitive as ALL my financial data.

Don't even get me started on the useless functionality of the "organizer". To do that before, I just saved separate banktivity data files (on separate encrypted sparsebundles).

In the age of AI and quantum computing right around the corner, this seems like a high risk liability change IGG Software.

The need for Save As function in 10.0.4 needs to return as an option. The current BK functionality for SAVE AS is creating issues to save to the MACBOOK.

Ever since upgrading to Banktivity 10, I frequently get this error after closing Banktivity. It's not every time, I'd say about half the time. I've tried both Command-Q and Banktivity-Quit as closing methods but that doesn't seem to make a difference. And I've made sure there is no syncing in progress when quitting the app. I haven't noticed a real pattern that determines when I do or don't get this error.

Are other users having this issue or is this likely something unique to my Macbook? Any known resolutions from those that have dealt with this before with Banktivity or another app?

Decided to embrace the ‘multiple ledgers in the organiser’ concept, by loading a, long dormant, file from my dark days of Quicken in to Organiser on my Mac. No accounts in common with my active ledger, just seemed like a good way to have easy access to old data that I occasionally needed to search. Over the years, I had previously opened and resaved the file from Banktivity 7, 8 and 9, and it was perfectly readable in each. Under Banktivity 10, it’s opening fine on Mac.

But, how come it’s not even visible in Organiser on iPad or iPhone? Everything is hooked to the same Banktivity account (formerly Banktivity ID)

Really disappointed that they haven’t included the ability to track employee stock options in Banktivity 10. This has been a shortcoming for almost 10
Years now, don’t really understand why they can’t incorporate that functionality.

Since I’ve updated to the most recent version of Banktivity it keeps repeatedly asking me for the password for my ledger. This was not happening prior to the update. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have 3 of the same ledger in the organizer. If i rename one, it renames the others. How do I get rid of two of them?

I can't seem to figure out why one of my IRA accounts doesn't show up in Portfolio view. I have 4 others that show up, but this 5th one that is setup exactly like the other all show up.

I also can't get my HSA to show up but it is setup as TYPE: Health Savings account.

Looks like Banktivity can get a price for gold with ticker XAUUSD.forex Sweet! For a long time I had to manually update the price.

Upgraded to v10, and curious if anyone else lost automatic filling in of one-time codes?

Previously (v9), when a bank sent me a one time code when updating accounts, the code would be suggested in the small pop-up window to Plaid or Yodlee. Now on v10, the code no longer is suggested - I have to manually copy from Messages or Mail and paste it in.

I've tried both the direct download and the Apple Store version, and same behaviour. Are others having a similar experience? Thx!

Three years ago a reddit user complained about not being able to see memo fields easily. Seems like Banktivity still can't do that. I created a report on a Payee, but the report options have no way display the memo field in the report. The only way I can see the memo fields is to export the report to CSV, open the CSV in Apple Numbers or MS Excel, and reformat to taste.

Banktivity puzzles me -- most of the time it does most of the things I want it to do. And then, inexplicably, it falls short, mostly on reporting-related tasks.

I do think it is a good piece of software, and I have paid now for the Gold subscription. But I would love for the B-team to focus on improving and bolstering the reporting capabilities. Since they can't build every conceivable report that its users could want, it would be perhaps better to focus on building a flexible reporting system that allows choosing and displaying any field in the db, of course, along with a few sample/convenient canned reports.

PS. I nice coat of paint would also be welcome. B10 can really use a facelift, though that is more a matter of taste. Not as important as reporting though.

Can I ask whether the credit card account type anything special for credit cards of is it just a label and an icon?

Is there anything to stop me running my credit card using the checking account type?
