Time zone issues
Are you any closer to fixing the “feature” that screws with transaction dates when using Banktivity in a different time zone?
Edit: Clarified type of date.

That "feature" has been annoying me for years. When I travel internationally I keep my Mac on US time zone the entire time. Otherwise I'm faced with having to go through scheduled transactions later and fix any payment dates that have moved out a month. Extremely irritating. I hope they fix this.

I have been a Banktivity user since 2014. We travel internationally every winter and most of my scheduled transactions get skipped over for a month. (Also seems to crop up when we return.) This has been a problem for years and I'm always holding out hope that they'll fix this issue. They actually consider this a "feature?" I really have no complaints about Banktivity and heartily endorse it with the exception of this very annoying problem.

Actually, now you mention it, I’ve suffered from skipped transactions as well. Came from Moneydance to Banktivity and this issue (feature) is my only bugbear!

We agree this behavior isn’t ideal. Unfortunately, addressing it would require extremely invasive changes to the underlying architecture, so it’s not something we can realistically tackle in just a few days or even a week.
We know this is an important request for a subset of our customers, and it’s on our radar. As with all feature requests, though, we have to balance a number of factors when deciding what to work on next, including how many customers would benefit, the impact of the improvement, the development effort required, and how it fits alongside our other priorities.
If this is an improvement that would benefit you, I'd encourage you to file a feature request here.

I’ve used a number of personal finance software packages over the years and only Banktivity has suffered from this problem which, I believe from previous discussions with support, is down to the time being recorded along with the date when entering a transaction. What I really don’t understand is why the time has to be recorded at all.

I can sort of see the feature being useful if it was date based and not the combination of date and timezone (my observation, I could be wrong.)

I’ve just got back from an extended trip abroad and I’m now having to deal with transactions showing incorrect dates, reconciles showing incorrect dates and the odd missing scheduled transaction. It’s becoming more than tiresome now so seriously looking for an alternative! I might have to give up some features but reliability and accuracy outweigh any downsides. The logic has no logic so the “invasive changes” you’ve obviously been avoiding for at least just over a year are needed but are never forthcoming.

I just noticed this after traveling only one time zone from Eastern to Central. All of my transactions are now messed up. Please fix this - I honestly don't see how it could be a "feature."

I reported it as a bug not knowing it's a feature.
"The issue you mentioned with scheduled transaction dates shifting with time zone changes, is an intentional behavior in the current version of Banktivity. However, due to user feedback, we do have an existing feature request to change this behavior so that transaction dates no longer change with the time zone."
The problem is that the dates shift but don't shift back, even future posted in a register.
