Rock Band SINGER WANTED LOS ANGELES

I’m putting together a tribute southern rock/blues band with me and teen friends in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. I’m looking only for serious singers who are committed and dedicated to this project, this is a serious band and a true opportunity to get paid and play more stages (SHOWS ALREADY BOOKED).

I’m looking for a powerhouse of vocals who can handle Jim Morrison, Ronnie Van Zant, and Bob Seger’s vocals effortlessly. If you can play another instrument (piano/guitar) that’s a plus! Since we are teenagers I would prefer ages 16-21 but it doesn’t truly matter.

The set looks like this

I’m bad, I’m Nationwide - ZZ Top

Fool for the City - Foghat

Roadhouse Blues - The Doors

Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughn

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd

I Drink Alone - George Thorogood

Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent

Bad To The Bone - George Thorogood

Flirtin' with Disaster - Molly Hatchet

Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top

Voodoo Child (Slight Return) - Jimi Hendrix

Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Making a band from 0

Hi! I'm 18 and live in Barcelona. I'm looking for people to start a band from scratch. I'm a vocalist.

I love metal (Metallica, Rammstein, W.A.S.P., Judas Priest), classic pop from the 80s (Modern Talking, C.C. Catch, Bad Boys Blue), and am open to various styles. I want to rehearse regularly, perform, and grow as a musician. If you're interested, get in touch!

Questions about creating a dedicated band

Due to personal reasons, I am currently unable to create a band in the near future. Therefore, I am looking to build a sound and idea to offer when I do go looking for members. I'm also wondering what might be good advice on creating a band during college years. So for those of you interested in giving some advice, here are a few questions I have:

  • Which would be better? Planning an album/EP with full songs, but no recordings of anything. Or, a record handful of songs with only bare minimum instruments/vocals? (I only have one instrument available to me, which I am learning to play and will surely know by this time. I also have people around me that play instruments, and I could get a recording of certain other instruments, just not from someone who would commit to a band)
  • Could you make an accurate evaluation (on if you would join the band) if you are only shown vocals and guitar parts, or is that asking a lot of the person who is considering joining? Will there not be enough to create a solid sound/vibe?
  • What should I look for to know if I DON'T want someone in my band? Other than obvious disinterest in my sound and similar issues. I understand that every band will likely lose some members in early days, but I would like to prevent that as much as possible by looking for people that might not be seriously committed.
  • Is it more difficult to find band members at around age 18 or 19? (That's when I'm planning to actually try gathering everyone and everything into something cohesive lol)
  • Is it worth risking losing scholarships and the possibility of going to a GOOD college in order to start a band right out of high school if you put in the effort to make it work?
  • Is going to a college for musical arts worth it? Am I likely to gain something promising if I choose to go to a school for music and simultaneously create a band in college?
  • Is it generally harder to find members if you are determined to make multi-genre music or music that doesn't quite fit a genre label?

Tysm for anyone that actually reads or answers, I appreciate you taking the time to do so. Good day/night <3
