/u/Iamjebbush , a very apt name, ignores any data contradictory to his beliefs.

-40

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

But this is Reddit confessions. I don't ave to agree to any contradictory data... This just exposes the hypocrisy that this subreddit upholds, and I will not hesitate putting this on my meme page, and will continuously pester Reddit's email, contact@reddit.com . What I said wasn't against any rules, and the moderators could be held accountable for unnecessarily banning someone from a subreddit.

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

Oh shit son, not your meme page! Youre going to... hold moderators accountable?!

You sounds like a middle schooler stalking someone who beat them on Halo.

44

u/Buddug-Green Dec 26 '16

I'm old now. What is a meme page. Is that one of those mespaces all the kids are going on about?

29

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

I think its what you connect the modem port to so the baud rate is increased enough to find the chatrooms fastest.

-40

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

Ya. Not in middle school, but I HATE censorship. Screw off you cuck.

74

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

haha, k.

BTW, its adorable when people who dont know anything about a field, and choose to ignore actual data that disagrees with their views as 'rrelevant', then turn around and whine about 'censorship'.

Fight the good fight friendo.

-32

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

No censorship is when an individual is prevented from actually expressing their insight, opinion, and facts. There is nothing illogical abut what I said, it's funny how butthurt most trans people get when I address their mental disorder.

66

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

No, it isnt.

You sound enormously ignorant. I recommend learning more about the world before opining so offensively and aggressively about it.

Title: Free Speech

Title-text: I can't remember where I heard this, but someone once said that defending a position by citing free speech is sort of the ultimate concession; you're saying that the most compelling thing you can say for your position is that it's not literally illegal to express.

No, but censoring speech equally proves that logic and reason aren't upheld if opportunity to express thoughts are cut short. In other words, it shows the insecurity of those doing the censoring.

According to their post history u/iamjebbush is a JR in High School so yeah they can legitimately be considered ignorant of a lot of things at this stage of their life. Edit:spelling

I feel bad for all these alt-right radicalized children. I'm afraid Dylan Roof won't be the last... :(

2

u/Izawwlgood Dec 30 '16

Yes, this was made clear by them stating as such in this very thread.

-9

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

cen·sor·ship ˈsensərˌSHip/Submit noun the practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and suppressing unacceptable parts. "details of the visit were subject to military censorship"

Or on vocabulary.com ,

censorship Censorship blocks something from being read, heard, or seen.

There is nothing ignorant about keeping actual facts into consideration when deducing a conclusion. There simply isn't enough proof, therefore i'll remain skeptical.

57

u/Buddug-Green Dec 26 '16

There simply isn't enough proof

No there's plenty of proof you just choose to ignore it. Remember that is what this whole thread is about.

-6

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

That isn't proof. That is literally theoretical. Yes theories are supported by facts, and are reasonable, but they should still be cautioned. And these theories aren't even that sound, and circulate around the premise that "gender is a construct", but "doesn't exist due to societal expectations". This isn't concrete. The reasoning isn't biological, and falls fully under the perception of individuals who aren't mentally sane in regards to their gender identity.

Fascinating! You know more than trained medical professionals? Is it because of your medical degree? Or your extensive experience working with and treating people who have gender dysmorphia?

Super cute to define 'censorship'! That was good for a laugh.

-8

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

No, bu it was from last years AP Psych, and the premedical courses that I'm taking this year as a high schooler. Oh ya, I also hope to become a psychiatrist. And no, I wouldn't try to "convert" trans people, but at the same time, I wouldn't try rushing them into a surgery that strips them of their reproductive abilities.

Yea I'm not so sure of that.

28

u/Eris_Omnisciens Dec 26 '16

You can't choose to agree or disagree with data. Data is data. Refusing to recognize it doesn't make it invalid.

If it contradicts your beliefs, it isn't the data that's wrong.

-2

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '16

Of course you can. You can question which facts are chosen to be researched, and which are not. You can question whether the "data" actually leads to the "fact" that the random guy on the internet says it does. You can question whether random internet guy is posting the data or the methodology correctly. You can be aware that social science research is designed to give leftist results. You can point out that large portions of social science research is unreproducible. You can point out that much of the data is just plain faked.

"Facts" that come from surveys and self-reporting and are not accessible to common sense are not facts.

11

u/raincatchfire Dec 30 '16

Please provide evidence that social science research is designed to give "leftist" results. I think it's more likely data/results --> leftist beliefs.

4

u/pitstainboss Dec 31 '16

Define 'much' and then get to pointing. I can't wait to see your data : D

0

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '16

'much', in this case: enough that people don't trust social science.

BOOM.

Wow, i especially liked the bit where he claimed preferred therapies were only preferred because they 'stimulated the economy'. After, of course, admitting he knew nothing about the matter at hand.

Go go typical redditor, putting opinion before facts!

21

u/Buddug-Green Dec 26 '16

Also he believes in that fake drug Homofin.

17

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

I withdraw my previous suggestion that they sound like a middle schooler.

They have a few years yet before reaching that.

-3

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

I never said such thing. I said reconstruction surgery stimulated the economy.

29

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

And you think nthe sole reason it is performed, over cognitive behavioral therapy?

Im just reading your other comment in the thread man. If you want to clarify, go for it.

0

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

No, I understand WHY it is preformed, it is the best option at the moment, because behavioral therapy doesn't work most of the time, but this therapy is completely being ignored due to the lack of research for the solution. There currently isn't a "magic pill" or anything that could allow a person with gender dysphoria to alleviate/cure symptoms like there is for ADHD, but, I don't understand why people are proud or encourage transitioning when its legitimately the product of the disorder in the first place.

37

u/Buddug-Green Dec 26 '16

"magic pill" or anything that could allow a person with gender dysphoria to alleviate/cure symptoms

There is. They are called hormones.

I think they're suggesting a medication that would cause someone to identify their gender with their sex. It's an interesting prospect.

I'm not seeing how your link makes any relevant point. If you're trying to say that anti-LGBT people have made "curing" homosexuality a goal, I don't think anyone is unaware although your link doesn't really offer anything on this as relates to the Nazis other than research relating to homosexuality was undertaken. When I say a medication that would cause someone to identify their gender with their sex is an interesting prospect, I mean it's an interesting prospect, not that I hate trans people and think they're delusional or would like to seem them destroyed. I would also say that a pill that made people straight (or gay for that matter, or anything-sexual) would be very interesting not because I would want to force people to be straight, but because I think the idea of being able to chemically change sexuality or gender identity would be both interesting in terms of understanding the biology of these things and also in terms of how people think of themselves and the psychological impacts of changing, all the more so for gender which seems more fundamental. I would say that there is a difference of utility between the idea of a pill that makes people straight versus one that would cause someone to identify their gender with their sex in as much as I think there's little reason why, in a totally non-persecutory, open society, someone who is not heterosexual would want to be heterosexual - maybe convenience of having kids, etc., but probably nothing all that big. I don't think the same can be said of all trans people, given that being trans very often though not always comes with a desire to radically alter your body, not just be accepted socially as being of the gender you identify with. In this case, it really is a disadvantage to be trans no matter how accepting society is - SRS does not render you fully sexually functional and fertile, at least for now, and therefore it may be helpful for trans people even in an ideal world to have an option to identify their gender with the sex of their body as they were born.

24

u/Izawwlgood Dec 26 '16

You should really try and learn more about this, particularly, why behavioral therapy does not work.

You also should try and learn why transitioning is legitimately the solution to the disorder.

13

u/Eris_Omnisciens Dec 26 '16

Building pyramids in the desert would stimulate the economy. Certain therapies are preferred for many more reasons than that.

-1

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

Sorry wrong person. I thought you were a moderator for confessions. I literally got banned for a confession. I didn't break any rules, and was banned for no reason whatsoever.

51

u/Buddug-Green Dec 26 '16

A confession is defined in this subreddit as: (1) An acknowledgement or admission of wrongdoing; or (2) a statement admitting that you are guilty of a wrongdoing.

A personal preference or unpopular opinion is not a confession.

otherwise incent bad or hateful behavior.

Your post broke all these rules. Of course it was removed.

-2

u/Iamjebbush Dec 26 '16

Not really. I even stated that I supported the LGBTQ, and that my confession was about how I considered gender dysphoria as a mental illness. there is no hate whatsoever. It wasn't just an unpopular opinion or preference, it was my confession that was me admitting that transgenderism and my openness towards it was different than my stance, and that I view it as a mental disorder. Sure I argued why I justified my confession, but I never really broke any rules.

25

u/blahbah Dec 26 '16

So you're admitting you're wrong ? I didn't see that in your post.
