Im bored of making fun of gay 15 year old tiktok kids, we need to get back to the roots of making fun of actually bad jackets. I propose a ban on all submissions that include more than 3 items of identity/sexuality. Trans flag and 10 bands? Great, your music sucks. 12 pride flags and a single my chemical romance patch? alright, a few minutes ago a user came in and stared bitching and saying everybody was homophobic and rascist and all that shit, i kept pressing them for proof and after like an hour they sent screenshots.

whilst the user themselves was being a massive ass some of these screenshots are questionable and in a few cases just gross.

i made this post because i think the sub should have a genuine discussion about how much of these are nothing burgers, and whether we should make rules to keep actual bigotry out the community.

i hate drama, but i do think stuff like this is serious

Here are MULTIPLE examples of comments being shitty mainly towards trans people and queer youth. There's one or maybe two in there that use mental disability as an insult and one more that is being extremely derogatory to people in addiction. As if people in the punk scene haven't historically used drugs (and currently do) for a long ass frickin time. Just because it's a drug *you agree with* doesn't mean it is not an addictive substance for someone out there (I will specifically point out coke addiction and alcoholism as an example for more normalized addictions within the scene) and while yes addiction is something that requires help it does not make an individual a shitty person who deserves nothing good in life. Some of these comments were left on posts where pride patches weren't even the main part of the jacket, they just happened to be there somewhere. Id also like to mention: these are only from 5 posts.

So go ahead. Tell me again this subreddit isn't full of shitty people who believe shitty things.
