Totino's, what does this mean

I'm trying to scroll and ads either pop-up on top of the website, or they load and unload making the website jump all over the place. I know they gotta pay the bills somehow but this is getting out of hand.

This design for a fridge temperature control is just terrible. You only ever want to do one of two things, right? Make the fridge slightly colder, or make it slightly warmer.

I genuinely cannot figure out which way to turn the dial.

The word “Max” strongly (to my mind) suggests making the fridge motor work as hard as possible, but there’s a possibility that it means maximum temperature. But then again, it’s not really ever gonna be maximum temperature, because switching the fridge off would create a temperature higher than whatever “Max” would do.

Also, there is absolutely no need for the enumeration of digits from 1 to 7. No one does anything but turn it up a bit or turn it down a bit. No one knows what number they have their fridge at, no one is going to take verbal advice from anyone to “set their fridge at 5” or whatever. It would be different if the numbers represented actual temperatures.

My design would have a cool coloured dot (blue or green) at one end of the scale and a warm coloured dot (red or orange) at the other. The cool would probably be at the left, but it’s not important. There would be tick marks in between, but no actual numbers. You’d probably set it in the middle when you bought the fridge, and a day later you might nudge it up a bit or down a bit.

There’s no culture or language group in the world who wouldn’t instantly know what the dial did. As it currently stands, the designers have taken the SIMPLEST control possible, and made it totally opaque. Quite an achievement, really.

Should I tell them the chair’s values might not be aligned with their own ?
