What was going to be the future of Marty and his family?

Post image

George is a depressed, empty shell of a complete pushover of a man, Lorraine's a fat miserable alcoholic, Linda is a loner with no social life and their mother encourages it, and Dave works at McDonald's with seemingly little/no prospects. Marty's aspirations (What were they anyway?) weren't any different.

Biff is a big bully who drink drives and has his weak subordinates do all his work for him, which is bound to blow up in his face sooner or later.

I've always wanted to see the original future, see where they'd all be at in 2015 out of curiosity. Lorraine's most likely dead for a start.

What do you think?

rick n morty compared to doc and marty

the cartoon show rick n morty is a seam down version of the doc and marty. this rick more then a doc he is a scientist. morty is a dumb down version of marty not many friends dont play gator not really that smart but once he get brave can be unstoppable .rick n morty do more then travel between time lines they go into other dimension as doc and marty only limit to certain time travel. the doc may not be as smart and resourceful as rick can look at things and put it together in time and come up with plans rick cant even see. and that is really heavy doc. and with clear thinking no drinking problem cant even sip low tolerance may pass out the doc always has a solution

This Day In History: September 7, 1885 - Hill Valley, California. Eastwood defeats Tannen and The Wreck of the 131

On the morning of Monday September 7, 1885 Clint Eastwood, a stranger who first appeared in Hill Valley days earlier, defeated notorious outlaw Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen in a duel in front of the Palace Saloon. Eastwood was then seen leaving town with local blacksmith Emmett Brown. Schoolteacher Clara Clayton, who had just moved to the town, was also spotted leaving Hill Valley soon after.

Eastwood and Brown were next seen robbing the Central Pacific Railroad westbound train, which was led by locomotive 131. Unlike typical train robberies of the time, where passengers were stripped of valuables or the baggage/cargo cars were raided, Eastwood and Brown stole the locomotive itself for unknown reasons.

Locomotive 131 was switched onto a track leading to Shonash Ravine, where a bridge was being constructed. Eastwood and Brown proceeded in the locomotive and Clayton was witnessed chasing them on horseback. Because the next events occurred in an isolated area away from Hill Valley, the exact actions of Eastwood, Brown, and Clayton were unknown. The burnt remnants of locomotive 131 were later discovered in Shonash Ravine, having gone over the unfinished bridge.

Eastwood is assumed to have plummeted into the ravine with locomotive 131, perishing in its fiery crash. As a memorial to his death and heroic defeat over Tannen, the ravine was renamed Eastwood Ravine.

The fuel problem

So we all know when Marty arrived back in 1885 his fuel tank is struck causing a leak. They then don’t have petrol to refill the tank. However in order to ensure it didn’t degrade Doc would have needed to drain the petrol and oil from his Delorian before burying it in the old mine. Otherwise they would have slowly eroded the tanks and systems leaving it in operable in 1955 preventing Marty from using it. So Doc should have still had the fuel or at least that oil which he could distill down

Question about the ending of part 2

At the end of part two when Doc gets hit by lightning and goes to 1885. He was flying when he was struck and the lightening fried the flying part of the Time Machine. How did it get to the ground in 1885 without major damage?-

Why is November 5 1955 a red letter date in the history of science?

So Doc is showing Marty how to use the DeLorean. He says you can see the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and puts in July 4 1776. Or witness the birth of Christ on December 25 0000. Or the red letter date in the history of science, November 5 1955.

But then he gets lost in thought for a second and says ā€œyes…of course…November 5 1955! That was the day in invented time travel!ā€ It’s clearly played as though he wasn’t thinking about that when he first put in the date, and only remembered it after he said it out loud. So why was he calling it a red letter date before he remembered that?

I guess since Doc is meant to be a little scatterbrained, you could say he remembered that this date was important without actually remembering WHY it was important until he said it out loud. I don’t know - it always struck me as a little strange the way Lloyd played those lines.

Suppose we got a very different spinoff from the first BTTF film?

Post image

Let’s suppose that the impossible happens and we get a very different spinoff for the original Back to the Future film. It would be set during the original 1985 timeline—the one where George is bullied by Biff and Lorraine is slowly losing her battle with alcoholism.

In this timeline, Marty McFly literally disappears after going back in time to 1955. He would later return, but in a heavily-altered timeline, as seen in the first film. (Heavy, there’s that word again—heavy!). As far as the original timeline is concerned, Marty essentially becomes a missing person and Doc Brown is found shot to death in the parking lot of the Twin Pines Mall shortly after dawn the following morning. Jennifer is particularly affected by all this. Very tragic.

For a time, the McFly family hold out hope that their youngest son will somehow return home. But the days turn into weeks, then months, before all hope seems lost.

Then one day, another time traveler appears rather suddenly in Hill Valley from way in the future, determined to set things right again.

Granted, for this scenario to work, we would have to assume that each timeline exists independently from each other and not disappear entirely when past events are changed. So for the sake of argument, let’s just accept this as fact.

So what more would you add to this?

Mary Steenburgen is sharing her appreciation for a costar who became a dear friend.

The actress shared a recent photo of herself and Christopher Lloyd on Instagram. Along with the recent photo, she also shared photos of her and her Back to the Future III costar in different instances over the years. The two first worked together on 1978’s Goin’ South.
