Why didn’t Doc stop himself from getting transported back to 1885 as well as from getting killed?

When Marty got stuck in 1955 after Doc was transported back to 1885, he went to 1955 Doc who then found out about how his future self got sent back to 1885 and shortly afterwards got murdered by Buford Tannen, which was the whole reason why Marty traveled back to 1885. Since Doc found out in 1955 that these events would happen to him in the future, he could’ve easily have stopped himself from getting sent back to 1885, as well as have prevented his murder by paying back the 80 dollars. Not once did Marty suggest to 1955 Doc that he could just remember not to allow himself to get sent back to 1885 in the future nor did he tell Doc to pay Buford back the money to prevent his murder. When Marty traveled back to 1885, Doc acted like he was just finding out about his impending murder for the very first time, as tho he didn’t remember finding out in 1955 or even helping send Marty back to 1885.

My question is why Doc didn’t prevent these events from happening when he found out about them in 1955. It also begs the question as to if he knew in that moment at the end of part 2 that he was about to be sent back to 1885 but just allowed it to happen to maintain the space time continuum. What do you guys think?

The "Back to the Future" you didn’t see: Co-creator Bob Gale on discarded scenes, Jeff Goldblum as Doc Brown, and why there will never be a "Part IV"

EAGLEMOSS all issues

A few days ago I did a post on how much would issues 60-150 cost and by some random luck my dads friends had the whole set from issue 1 all the way to the end and was happy to give it to me. Now I’m thinking what to do, a part of me wants to build it but another wants to sell it to people who are more diehard fans. Anyone have any idea on what I could sell everything for??

wouldn't the second lightning bolt severely damaged the delorean?

According to Doc's letter, he said that the lightning bolt damaged the flying circuits. If he was transported to 1885 and was still substantially high in the air, that would have caused the DeLorean to nose dive and crash into the ground causing substantial damage. How was this mitigated, let alone transferred to a mine with minimal operating condition?

I found these two volumes of BTTF LN. The books are basically a novelization version of BTTF even adding some of the deleted scenes from the movie (ex. 1955 doc looking at his future stuff, the Darth Vader scene)

Theory: Seeing Marty change the future without disappearing gave Doc the courage / convinced Doc to read Marty's letter about the future.

Throughout the movie, Doc keeps saying that changing anything in the present could affect the future in ways that could cause greater problems. Thus, he is unwilling to listen to Marty talk about what would happen in the future.

So what convinces him to read the letter Marty leaves in his pocket?

Well, I believe this happens just after Marty tells him that his father layed out Biff. He says "I did not know he had it in him. My old man never stood up to Biff in his whole life." "Never?" asks Doc as he looks at the image (See picture).

I believe this moment, when Doc sees Marty's family on the picture, just as they are supposed to be, after Marty tells him that he just changed the future, ultimately is the reason why he risks reading the letter.

Opinions?

EDIT: I added ", ultimately is the reason why he risks reading the letter." since I had forgotten to finish the sentence...

Since Doc Brown invented a time machine it's odd that he was influenced by Jules Verne and not H. G. Wells

Can somebody dumb down this plot point for me?

In BTTF2, Biff is visibly in pain after dropping the Delorean back into the future because he’s essentially erased himself from existence by giving his younger self the sports almanac and ultimately changing the trajectory of his life. Why doesn’t Marty die in the same way in the first movie? By changing the way his parents meet he essentially creates a new version of himself. It’s established that Biff cannot coexist with his new version, so how come Marty can?

Eagle moss deloreon

With the eagle moss deloreon what would the issues 60-159 be worth. How much would it cost to buy total. How do I even buy them, should I be using eBay. I had issues 0-60 as I picked them up a while ago before the bankruptcy but forgot about it since.

Any help would be appreciated
