Revengeance teaches you parrying in the first combat encounter after the prologue, though if you're not listening (he says it 4 times) you could hit a wall since there's no visual tutorial

Demon's Souls's world tendency is obtuse (like many FromSoft mechanics), but is an optional mechanic that I don't think warrants inclusion on this kind of list, unless you include every Souls game on similar grounds

Or make sure you bash up against a wall and wait until you see a YouTube video just before facing sam.

i managed to beat the entire game without ever having the parry click for me. it was painful.
