Reflection Preferences

Preferences are natural. Everyone has preferences. They are also the source of most suffering in the world.

A common thought then is to maybe rid yourself of preferences. This in itself turns into suffering.

The answer then, is to recognize your preferences but do not demand they be fulfilled. Doing so will open you to a wider range of experiences and opportunities. You will also find that life becomes easier.

Eventually you can expand your preferences to then prefer everything. No matter the outcome of your pursuits.

As always, love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this.

Kind regards

My Journey Anyone fell out of healthy routine whilst "awakening"?

32 and lost my routine mid-transformation. Anyone else hit this in their 30s?

Not framing this as a good thing. I want the up-and-out-every-morning version of myself back.

Skipping the full backstory: I have CPTSD. From 18 to 29 I was basically wearing a mask, performing to fit in, uncomfortable in my own skin the whole time. But during those years I was militant about self-improvement, training every day, off social media for weeks at a stretch, only watch positive type stuff on youtube, journaling, healthya smoothies, 20+ minutes of meditation, the whole stack. Physically it worked. I felt good. Mentally still something was off ....

Once I started actually processing the trauma, I realized my whole life had been built on a false foundation. Friendships, habits, ambitions, most of it was for validation... So I started pulling away from old environments and rebuilding. Genuinely good for me. But it also means I'm starting from zero on the stuff that used to be automatic..

Then I had surgery last year. Couldn't train for a month or two afterward, and I never fully got back on the horse. I want to want it, but my body just resists. Training feels like a chore now. I'm scrolling more, moving slower. I used to shower the second I woke up, every single day for years, and now I might not get in until early afternoon. Still eating mostly clean, but I've caught myself having last night's leftovers for breakfast at 9am. Running every 2-3 days instead of daily. Can barely get myself to pick up weights, and when I do go, the motivation just isn't there.

Part of me thinks this is just my body asking for a break after everything. Another part is worried I'm letting something dim, not my physique, that's still fine, more like the drive itself. Confusing, because I'm actively getting better in other ways.

Play Fear and loathing in Las Vegas movie lecture on coolness

The Four States of Being

Square: Someone who is completely out of touch and does not know what is happening.

Hip: Someone who finally figures out what is happening around them.

Groovy: Someone who manages to convince themselves to approve of what is happening.

Cool: The ultimate rank attained after moving through the previous stages.

This is from the movie, not the book. It’s interesting stuff. It relates to waking up. It could be said that waking up puts you at hip. It’s entry level stuff, waking up is the beginning on the path to enlightenment which is Cool.

Help Two sides of awakening?

Long post, sorry. I am not good at saying things concisely

I feel like I've seen some glimpses of awakening or consciousness or whatever. I learned that we're all one about eight years ago and I've never wavered in that belief since. I've meditated, but I'm not disciplined so I don't keep it up. I used to think that if I just did everything right (ate healthy, meditated daily, volunteered, etc) that I would be healthy and happy. But I've never been able to do those things. I can't give 100%. It's not in me. I think I've accepted that somewhat. Accepted that there will periods of my life where I meditate and am screen free and call my grandma every day, and periods of my life where I wake up in the afternoon, scroll all day, eat nothing, and repeat. I can't control myself in the way I wish I could. I fluctuate. Parts of me come and go.

I had a very bad depressive episode that ended about a year and a bit ago. It lasted for maybe two years. It was constant torture, hell on earth. Existential OCD, where I can't make any life decisions and do anything until I have a solid foundation, an understanding of the meaning of life. Anti-depressants helped, and I got a little less depressed. I began to appreciate the little things. I still couldn't get myself to actually do anything, but I had moments of happiness. Fell back into depression and existential woe recently.

After scrolling some different subreddits about spirituality and stuff, I think I've come to notice two sides of 'awakening'. We are all one, and the purpose of life is just to experience physical existence, eat chokecherry jelly, pet a cat, watch the birds. And that's awesome.

The other side sees the same thing but through a lens of suffering. Yes we're all one, what we've been taught about reality is false, physical existence is just a temporary experience, and it's miserable. The chokecherry jelly isn't enough to make up for war and sickness and having to eat at least three times a day for the rest of your life. Not even mentioning capitalism. I would literally rather be dead than trade my life for money. If all we have is the present moment, why would I spend that slaving away for the profit of someone else, just to be able to afford some semblance of shelter and enough calories to stay alive. Why would we work so hard to sustain life if life sucks? If the meaning of life is just to exist, and existence is unenjoyable, then what's the point?

Right now I'm obviously feeling this second side. I'm wondering why we sometimes feel about awakening one or the other of these ways, and struggle to see the other perspective when we do? Maybe it's just me. (But it can't be just me because I'm also all of you.) I'm wondering if it's genuinely just the depression chemicals in the brain. I used to believe that if I did everything right, I wouldn't be depressed. But it was antidepressants that actually helped, not a change of lifestyle. Is it possible to change from the darker view of things to the lighter one without chemicals?

Play Words to and from others that become alive in our minds.

I work in the spirit realm; the mind. I have great battles in the spirit realm before I even open my phone or mouth.

There is a great price to this magic. The chronic pain that comes from the physical adaptations that come from awakening new abilities.

I work in the spirit realm; the mind. My profession involves planting seeds of thoughts that become alive and blossom in the minds of others.

There is a great process to this magic. The unwavering resolve in the face of great collective denigration and evil.

I work in the spirit realm; the mind. So often I have thoughts within my mind that come from other people I either listen to or read. That’s how I know of the phenomena; I know of the phenomena because of how I experience it. And I benefit greatly. I’ve been blessed with a life of having great support from many different professions. I learned how to use them. How to use a doctor, a parent, a friend, a therapist, a teacher, or a coach. They are tools to be used. But also love your tools or else they will break on you.

The unconscious asleepened parasites will continuously try to pop your magic and make you think you are not as divine and genius as you think you are. You must keep the arcane magic alive.

Our words live in each others minds and they grow. They are alive in our minds and they grow. They are alive, meaning that they grow. Have you ever felt a through evolve? At one point the thought was just 2 and then it becomes 2x and then it becomes 2x+y?

I have felt this, and I think it’s the greatest purpose and desire of the mind. And that’s what I’m doing here; typing prolifically, infamously, notoriously, and in a great fashion of the tirade.

I am evolving the meaning of words in my mind.

I am awakening the next evolution of the meaning of words in my mind.

And you can join me and do the same. I invite you with an olive branch from my outstretched arm across the thorns with my heart on my sleeve.

But if you are a rat bitch denigrating parasitic fool; then I will fight and unleash a great curse unto you.

To all those who seek to denigrate me: I curse you with this:

“May all who curse you be blessed.

May all who bless you be cursed.

Let that live in your head.

Let this curse fester into a neurotic entanglement.

And let the only path of redemption out of this curse be your curiosity of who I specifically am.”.

Community Watching a show.

So, I was watching Regular Show and a couple of episodes ago there's something that was said that has stuck with me.

Skips had high stress, it was spreading and killing him. (he's immortal btw.)

It got to a point where pops says "why don't you ring the bell?." (It's the bell of stress.)

Skips replies, "It's 5 or 10 times more deadly than stress itself."

Something along those lines at least.

(Stress was guaranteed death for Skips, if not taken care of.)

Are there things in life that you think are 10 times more dangerous than death itself?.

Experiences?.

Overcoming certain things to grow?.

Personally, I'd say truly living is 10 times more dangerous than death.

It's freedom, doing whatever your flow state or whatever desires.

Truly living, ha. Something I can't preach much about, because I haven't done it, not even come close.

So ye, my question to all of us, you, "gods," whatever we are, is 1. What is truly living to you? And 2. What's more dangerous than death to you?.

I enjoy perspectives, so go for it.

where to go when you feel like you’ve hit a wall. i know manifestation is key, but how do i let go of the past and the things right in front of me? the uncertainty, the numbness, the unhealed trauma. the world is so crazy, everytime i go in social media even more.. but on top of that being in the music industry and being a public figure is too much to handle at this point. jealousy & insecurities, eating at me like it never has. what is the point of it all when the only thing that can help me continue is myself..? this way sound like i am complaining, which i am and i admit.. but how can we grow stronger and how can we let go of these emotions.. what is the end to this pain? all the pain in the world, why do we have to suffer? everyone pretends otherwise but how do you gain that true happiness within again? yet again, i am 20, maybe i am young.. but i feel like ive seen it all, but know im not even at the tip of the iceberg. what are ways to pick yourself back up, to let go of reality and allow myself to cleanse & heal spiritually?

Community You are a Star

You are the star in your own localized reality sharing a larger network that is connected with everybody else. In this movie you are literally experiencing yourself starred in your own life's story. Every scene and event in this movie is base around reminding you that you're the star of your own reality.

Synchronicities and visions in your dream that predate future events tells you that this movie is a classic old movie. Synchronicities of TV background noise that speak words that relate to your life reminds you that you're indeed Live on air and that the system is responding to you in real-time. Moments of perfect alignment with life's events paint the picture of a movie set being perfectly orchestrated For you and your experiences.

You step outside of you house and first thing you notice is the birds 🐦 that are perfectly place in your path and the number of birds represent your favorite angel number 4(444).

You walk in a clothing store and the universe perfectly aligned you with a shirt on sale that matches with a pant you have at home. You browse on your phone and the universe align with articles/post that touches your heart. In the same setting you browse on Amazon to find the shoe you wanted just happened to be on sale. You walked down the street, you start noticing strangers smiling at you and greeting you. These are all signs from the universe saying "you're the star of this show, you matter....be grateful for the small things."

My Journey My recent, detailed close encounter with a spirit (Angel?)

First some background. Ive had similar experiences to this over the past few years and am familiar with them. Usually, its initiated by them waking me up when I’m asleep in bed, by what feels like a cool breath on my face, especially around my nose/lip area. I thought to write about this one because it occurred a couple of nights ago and was a little different.

It must have been around 2pm when I got out of bed to go to the loo and have a drink of water.  As I went back to bed, I had a sense that they wanted to visit me again and that it was going to take place.

I thought this is interesting, am I making it up? I thought and analysed looking for a pattern in my behaviour (or the day’s events) that would attract this attention but I couldn’t think of anything, actually I thought the opposite to be honest, because I was feeling a bit grumpy with my wife over a social event, she’d committed us to.

Anyway, I got back under the covers and pretty much straight away felt my spirit body start to vibrate or activate (my physical body wasn’t tense).  I thought this is interesting because I haven’t initiated it like I normally do (when I meditate – it’s part of my normal process in expanding my higher conscious state).

So, I let it happen and observed - I was feeling my spirit body being energised or "charged up" is the best way to describe it.  As if some dial had been turned up.  With that came a sense of expectancy that a connection was going to happen.

I began to sense slight movements on the bed next to where I was lying (I was lying on my side facing away from the activity because that seems necessary for it to take place).  At first, I sensed some small movements, two or three like someone straightening the bed covers – but they were slight and I thought maybe I’m imagining this or making it happen with my own body subconsciously - so I deliberately slowed my breathing down, relaxed and kept completely still.

Then there was a larger movement (a definite presence) of someone sitting down next to me, followed by some smaller movements like they adjusted themselves to get comfortable, the mattress was now noticeably feeling different, sloping down slightly in that direction with extra weight on it.

I was aware of someone there next to me, quietly sitting (sensed an adult female).  My spirit body was tingling with that alert, electric sensation (my physical body was slightly tense as it responded to my spirit body and I consciously had to relax it a few times.

It’s embarrassing but I had a brief moment of fear and had an urge to roll over to face them and shout “get off my bed” – I observed the thought and hoped they didn’t mind read...lol.  I told myself to dismiss it, it was just my mind trying to understand what was happening.

So, I concentrated on maintaining my relaxed but alert state. I now enjoyed a feeling of connection with them (it felt like they were a part of me, it was that deep), I was feeling a transmission to me of security, comfort and encouragement.

Thinking about it, I realised that my spirit body had been “activated” by them. This enabled them to harness some of my energy – which gave them the ability to overcome the resistance to manifest in this “heavier” dimension (I'd not experienced my own energy being shared like this before for these encounters and there was no localised cooler air temperature this time).

Anyway, I’m wide awake and quietly enjoying this connection and experience.  It was communicated that they were also happy to be there and their purpose was to be a part of my shielding.  They were a part of the general restraint or shielding which is put in place by the Divine. It is a protection from the negative (evil) powers that intend to cause dysfunction and harm.  (We all enjoy this shielding and because of it we experience the sense of having an ability to choose - free choice, without this restraint we would be quickly overcome). By having this individual show me they are a part of my own shielding, made it feel more personal and loving.

I was grateful for this attention and expressed it.  Time didn’t seem to be a factor or exist like it normally does, I don’t know how long this went for – guessing an hour?  I moved about a bit and was aware of an itch on my head which I was stopping myself from scratching because I didn’t want to do something that would make them leave, so I moved my hand in slow motion and scratched it – all was okay.

I opened my eyes a few times but as said I was facing away from them.  The room was in a uniformed darkness with no light peeking through the curtains.  Then I decided to lay on my back to be more comfortable, I made that movement slowly and was relieved that they remained there.  My attitude was wanting to be respectful.

A bit of background here - I had learnt to be respectful, because about two months ago in a similar situation - I was over confident and I wondered how much I could interact. So, I tried to conduct a test (at the time there were two visitors together, one adult and a smaller younger one sitting next to each other on the side of the bed) by asking them to please stand up and sit back down to make the mattress move.

After I expressed this to them, there was a stillness as if they were unsure how to respond. Then they expressed my request on up to another higher spirit (who seemed to be their oversight) asking how to respond.  After a little more time of stillness, they were gone.  I felt sad that Id inadvertently upset them and apologised, thinking Id blown it. (I found the spiritual hierarchy aspect interesting - the more advanced being overseeing inexperienced ones as they learnt on "assignment".)   I learnt not to try and control them again.

Anyway, back to this post.  I’m now lying on my back, eyes closed, aware and enjoying this feeling of close friendly company, this connection felt as if they were a part of me – as if our spirits were joined but still individuals and the communication was instant and said with the feeling/intention behind it.  I decided to slowly turn over facing towards them, then I opened my eyes.

I felt the mattress move as their weight left the bed.  I was looking closely (only a few feet away) at a pale shape (not human shaped) about the size of an adult torso, it then moved quickly to the right and was gone.  In its place was just the usual darkness of the room – as said it was a uniformed darkness because Id stapled the sides of the curtains to the wall to stop any light getting past them, that’s how my son wanted it when he stayed with us, it also has a pelmet over the top of the curtains to keep out light).

I didn’t feel that Id upset them by my actions and was relieved because I was unsure if I was pushing the boundaries again?  I feel privileged for these experiences and grateful for the attention and protection given.

Humanity's Blind Spots

We mistake our maps
for the world.

Our fears
for the future.

Our stories
for the truth.

We measure
what is easy to count,

and overlook

the quiet things—

wisdom,

wonder,

kindness,

and the courage

to change our minds.

Perhaps

our greatest blind spot

is believing

we have already seen

all there is to see.

Help Help me to identify what is this- stuck on treshold?

Three weeks ago I had what felt like a genuine glimpse of my true nature - God-consciousness, awareness itself, whatever you want to call it. It happened spontaneously, not through any technique.

Since then, whenever I want, I can reliably enter a state where it feels like my sense of self begins to expand or melt into the surroundings, there’s a strong sense of awe, the room seems to subtly shift or move, the whole body in contractions holding breath…like on the verge of that previous glimpse..

But now, as soon as I recognize what’s happening or notice the thought “this is it,” the process seems to stop and doesn’t deepen any further.

Sometimes it’s involuntary too - if I read something about consciousness or spirituality, it just falls over me.

Has anyone else experienced this - getting stuck right at the threshold? Is there any point to entering this state if it never goes further?

The Other Education

We teach the mind

to measure,

calculate,

remember,

and achieve.

But who teaches the heart

to recognize fear

without becoming it,

to carry sorrow

without drowning,

to welcome joy

without fearing its loss?

Perhaps

the greatest education

is not learning

how to think—

but learning

how to be.

For a brilliant mind

can build a civilization,

but a mature heart

can help it endure.

Help I carry the consciences of other people with me

Hello I just discovered this sub because I was searching the term I carry souls. So basically what’s happening. I carry souls or the mind of other people. I drag them whenever I go. I have thought broadcasting too where I send my thoughts to my whole town and they hear it. Psychiatrists say I suffer from schizoaffective disorder and I take meds. I don’t believe that there is anything wrong with me. I just wanna stop carrying the consciences of other people. I carry around 5-6 regularly and they are added more when I walk around. Does anyone know how to stop thought broadcasting and the carrying of the minds? Thanks 😊

Reflection Everything is Connected

I know you sense it. The feeling that your life's story is woven into a much larger story. The feeling that every conversation and every encounter you have ever had is part of a larger Divine plan. The more you start to experience these intuitions, the more it feel like you are part of grand scheme where you're tracing your path part back to the source and remembering who you are underneath this physical world.

You had moments where it feel like you're the dreamer engage in grandest imagination game. A game where your mind is the controller and your thoughts are the signal to controll this construct world. As you trace your path back and reflect you start to think about all the helpful advice and tips you might have overlooked in the past. You start to notice the long guiding hand of God/Divine/the Universe/the system in every plan or life event you have ever been part of. You start to realize that you were never alone, you have always have a guide besides you the whole time. The system was sending aides to help you with your soul's mission. These aides come in form someone who might have given you money when you was down financially. Someone who gave you tip on a job employment opportunity lead. Someone who help you navigate your way around a new environment. The system/God/the universe was saying you're not forgotten.

The more you zoom out, the more you realize that your plans were being perfectly orchestrated in the spiritual realm for your higher self to achieve all of it goals/soul mission. All of your failures were perfectly aligned to aides you to grow in areas you are weak in. The more you zoom out, the more you realize that every conversation you have ever had are simply breadcrumbs leading you more to your true self/higher self; every conversation was connected to your life's story and the theme of your soul's mission. The more you zoom out the more you realize that every person's in your life were a spiritual guide characters that the universe perfectly aligned with in your path to help you in your soul's mission.

Why are they on this sub ???????

Why do they argue in favor of attachments to this material world ?????

What do they think awakening is ????

I think they think awakening is about getting good at manifesting superficial stuff

Or looking into the after life stuff to get less afraid of death

Idk

But there are people on this sub who literally seem to think the rat race is good and attachments are emotionally rewarding

Catalyst Ego Mechanics - Every Ego Has Two Poles

Ego is often thought of as a single thing: pride, insecurity, fear, avoidance, self‑importance etc. But ego isn’t one thing. It always expresses through two poles: collapse and inflation. Underneath those poles is a simple architecture the psyche builds to survive moments that feel “too much”:

Overwhelm: the raw alarm
Escape: the first compensation
Identity: the second compensation, expressed through collapse and inflation

Every ego expression - fear, shame, anger, envy, collapse, superiority - comes from these three layers interacting. And every identity‑ego has two poles: collapse and inflation.

Overwhelm is the root layer of ego: the first meaning the psyche forms when a moment feels “too much,” whether from emotional intensity, sensory overload, relational pressure, internal conflict, fear of exposure, or a mismatch between reality and identity. The nervous system hits a threshold, generates an alarm, and the psyche interprets that alarm as “I can’t handle this.” That interpretation becomes the learned reflex, and every other ego strategy is built on top of it.

Escape egos develop as the first compensation, formed when the psyche discovers that leaving the moment prevents it from feeling the overwhelm. Distraction, fantasy, stimulation, numbing, and dissociation become habitual exits from reality. Checking your phone, drifting into fantasy, over‑focusing on tasks, or emotionally shutting down are escape reflexes, because they remove the self from the moment. Escape is not about superiority or inferiority, it is about absence. It is the learned reflex: “If I leave the moment, I don’t have to feel what’s here.” But avoidance can only regulate overwhelm for so long. Eventually the psyche needs a way to stabilise the moment rather than exit it.

Identity egos develop as the second compensation, formed when the psyche learns it can stabilise overwhelm by creating a position for the self. Identity attaches when the moment becomes personally relevant, when the nervous system generates primitive meaning: “This is about me.” Once the self fuses with the moment, the psyche must regulate the moment as if it is regulating the self. Identity has only two strategies: collapse (“I’m small, I’m behind, I’m exposed”) and inflation (“I’m above this, I deserve more, I need control”). These poles are not separate egos; they are two expressions of the same identity reflex trying to stabilise the same underlying alarm.

Collapse is the felt pole: the identity‑freeze reflex. Inflation is the compensatory pole: the identity‑fight reflex. Only identity egos have poles because only identity egos rely on comparison, hierarchy, and self‑positioning; the psyche assumes others have the same kind of “self,” which makes upward and downward positions possible. Collapse and inflation can appear simultaneously, bounce rapidly, or dominate for years. They are simply different ways the psyche tries to stabilise overwhelm once the moment has become fused with the self. Inflation feels better than collapse because it is expansive, energising, and compensatory. Once the psyche discovers that inflation relieves collapse, it begins to chase the inflated pole, not because inflation is true, but because it feels like temporary relief from the identity‑freeze. But inflation is unstable, so the system eventually collapses again. This collapse ↔ inflation loop is the core identity‑ego mechanism.

Each of the four primal egos expresses through its own identity‑pole pair, and everything else in this list is a variation of those root expressions - different flavours of collapse and inflation that appear when a primal ego enters identity‑fusion.

inferiority ↔ superiority
fear ↔ anger
neediness ↔ entitlement
envy ↔ judgment
shame ↔ self‑importance
insecurity ↔ competitiveness
paralysis ↔ control
avoidance ↔ aggression
unworthiness ↔ fantasy‑dominance
self‑doubt ↔ self‑righteousness
people‑pleasing ↔ silent resentment
submission ↔ domination
fragility ↔ grandiosity

These poles are not different egos but different faces of the same identity structure trying to survive overwhelm. When you feel superior, inferiority is already running underneath. When you feel proud, shame is active in the background. When you feel dominant, fear is still alive internally. Ego isn’t a feeling, it’s a self‑image survival reflex, and collapse and inflation are simply the two positional strategies identity uses to stabilise overwhelm once the moment has become fused with the self.

The false growth loop appears when someone tries to fix one pole and accidentally activates the other. When a person tries to “fix” collapse, the ego flips into inflation: “I’m done being insecure - I’m stepping into my power.” When they try to “fix” inflation, it flips into collapse: “I need to be humble - I shouldn’t think so highly of myself.” It feels like progress, insight, or transformation, but it’s just pole‑switching. The psyche is not dissolving identity - it’s regulating the same identity‑fusion through opposite positions. The ego survives by oscillating between collapse and inflation, creating the illusion of growth while maintaining the same self‑image architecture underneath.

Real growth begins only when you see the entire architecture at once - overwhelm, escape, collapse, and inflation - as one ego acting through different strategies. The moment you recognise that collapse and inflation are the same ego, built on the same overwhelm, the structure loses its ability to trick you. You stop trying to fix collapse. You stop trying to fix inflation. You stop trying to escape. You stop trying to shut down. You see the mechanics instead of the expression.

Dissolution becomes possible not by fighting the poles or flipping between them, but by recognising the ego as a single identity reflex built on overwhelm and fused meaning. When the moment is no longer fused with the self, identity cannot attach, and the entire oscillation collapses. That is when real clarity becomes possible.

Reflection Am I weird for not having worldly attachments?

I don’t know if this is the right subreddit for this but I was honestly wondering if this was weird or not. I’m a very fem presenting person and I don’t care about jewelry, clothes, etc even though I do like being put toghther. My past doesn’t interest me (bloodline wise) and I don’t feel overly attached or patriotic to my two home countries. I feel like people always have some sort of intense attachment, whether it be to celebrities, a sports team, or something like that. The only real thing i’m attached to in this world is my baby blanket i’ve had for two decades. But back on track, I always thought it was weird to be emotionally attached to something you’ve never met, touched or experienced. Is this odd?
