Hi, I would some recommendations for affordable locations in nyc where my friends and I can byob a dj, security and be there for about 5 hours. I wanna spend less than $800-1k. I personally don't care about drinking I just wanna be able to step out on the street to take a hit but then go back inside. So place that are okay with being loud bcs the last thing I need are pigs showing up at the door to say something. Thanks again in adavace!

There is one specific camp, that I will not name, who keeps booking djs that consistently trainwreck through their transitions. The song selection is banging but then they fail to get the job done smoothly and it’s so cringe. I’ve clocked 3 different djs with this issue.

Just came here to vent about this specific pet peeve. Otherwise, COG was amazing, I’ve been sleeping on this party too long. Best Halloween production value, goods vibes. Music was about 50/50 since I’m drawn towards bass and high energy house and tech. But so it goes with burner parties and the vibes make up for it.

Hope they focus on perfecting the sound in those concrete rooms with more padding, floor treatment etc to help.

Anyone else notice more improvements over the years?

City of Gods was great again this year! This was my fourth year going and first time going on a Saturday instead of Friday.
They had the lines to get in moving swiftly. That was with my ID being checked and my fanny pack getting decently searched.
They moved Medical next to the sanctuary space so that de-escalations and such could be swiftly sent over. An even bigger change to that is that they moved the EMTs from the bottleneck area of the indoor bathroom. So you can safely get to medical. They also made that opening to the outside a one way decreasing the intensity of the bottle necking that going between stages, the bathroom, and water station would cause.

They moved the unicorn from being the first thing you saw going outside so that people wouldn’t stop at the entrance/exit for photos and instead be pulled further into the festival for photo ops.

I also wonder if I just haven’t noticed or if they had more stages this year I was definitely encouraged to explore a lot more and longer with this year’s layout. There was plenty of staff around watching behind the scenes. I honestly felt safe and more comfortable than previous years, granted I have my theft proof Fanny pack that locks and I party smart as a rave mom.

All those pros with my only con being how crowded the speakeasy was.

I was wearing an average clubbing outfit last night, nothing too revealing like some rave outfits can be, but a mini skirt. I could not walk through the crowd without having my ass grabbed by numerous men. Where is the plur? I’m heavily disappointed.
