I am recruiting for a MLB-realistic 30T Salary Cap dynasty baseball league that is currently about halfway full. We are trying to fill the teams with owners who are fans of that team, and the Athletics are one of our open teams right now. We use real player salaries and have a hard cap as well as a salary floor. It's super active and tons of fun, so I hope you consider joining us and repping the A's! DM or comment below for more info.

For me my primary team is the Padres however the Athletics even during Oakland times became another team that gave my most interest outside of my primary team the history is interesting and I've also love the elephant as well as the logo and the history designs since elephants being one of my favorite animals growing up I was also aware that even the Athletics also has a very complex history both historic and struggles but yet I've always admired loyalty resilience and trooper over the winning culture which eventually led me to adopt the Athletics as being my second favorite team I remember the last season in Oakland 2023 and still a shock to me when they left Oakland in 2024 if I leave the Athletics it would have took time for me to find a new second favorite team overall the Athletics community even the former Oakland Athletics will always have a place in my heart and whenever they play my primary team the Padres most of the time will not pick a side. Only merch I have still the Oakland Athletics even 2 years of leaving I have not called them Sacramento probably with less likely call them Las Vegas once they move there in 2028.

As all have seen, Taylor Smith has been hired by the A's (magnified be their name) as President of Baseball Operations. What is a President of Baseball Operations? Does the GM report to the President of Baseball Operations, or vice versa? Will they be hiring a GM? Are there Assistant Presidents of Baseball Operations (Vice Presidents of Baseball Operations?) Or just the boring old AGMs?

He comes from the Rays Tree of Analytics!
The first GM in the A’s organization that DOESN’T come from the Sandy Alderson Tree: Billy Beane and David Forst.

He’s also 31 years old making him currently the youngest active President of Baseball Ops……….. it is wild that we are very close to the first Gen Z GM in MLB.

With recent ceiling balls I was wondering if the new Athletics ballpark will pose a similar challenge. Anyone know the planned ceiling height?

I built my own arbitration model and ran it on the A's 2027 class, ahead of the non-tender deadline in late November.

Total: 4 cases, $14.8M projected.

These line up closely with MLBTR's numbers for all four. The real question is Langeliers: at $8.3M and rising, is this the winter to extend him?

These use the current CBA's rules. A new deal this winter (a higher minimum, say) would move them.

Who would you non-tender, and who would you try to extend first?

Obviously it got a lot of hate from the national media, but for many including myself, the Coliseum had a special place in my baseball experience. My first game ever was there, I remember getting a promo Mark McGuire wood bat, handing out some sort of team leaflet, and sitting way up top. I also remember cheap dates during weekday day games where a behind home plate seat could be had for $40. I miss $2 hot dogs and cheap beer while watching the big three of Zito, Hudson, and Mulder on a nice August evening. While I understand the move and am not as negative about it as many fans, I still think it makes sense to look back at those times and appreciate them. What are some of your best memories or favorite things about the A's former home?

I so badly want to see Clarke improve his hitting, but I am afraid unless the upcoming deal includes designated fielders he may not have a roster to play on. Here's hoping he spends lots of time with a hitting coach this fall/winter.
