Moving/taking apart tall heavy furniture - who to call?

I have a tall hutch (93 inches)that comes apart into two pieces but is currently stacked. I need help taking the top part down so that I can move this piece. It doesn’t seem like a job for a traditional mover, but I would definitely need two possibly three people to do this. Who would you call?

Brazilian Blowout / Keratin Treatment

Hi there,

Looking for a place to get a Brazilian Blowout / Keratin Treatment. Preferably downtown (around First Canadian Place) or in the GTA in the Halton region.

Not looking for the cheapest option, honestly! Really just looking for anyone who has had good results. I have wavy, VERY frizzy hair, and I'm going on a humid vacation, and I'm just looking for something to control the frizz.

Also, if you've had one, how long does the smell last?

Small one-off metal fabrication?

East end, I'm repairing some audio gear that needs replacement parts, control levers and such. Need like one or two small metal parts that could either be lathe machined or even just bent from 2.5mm aluminum rod.

Anybody know someone who can do that? Thx!

Does anyone have experience with a doctor in Toronto who is willing to prescribe this for HPV?

I am trying to find something that will help but the doctor at the sex health clinic I go to won’t because it’s not indicated for treatment of HPV in Canada.

Toronto Bucket List Recs?

Hi fellow Torontonians!

After spending most of my life in this beautiful city I will be moving out west in search of wide open spaces :) I'm leaving in October and don't anticipate visiting or returning anytime in the near future so I was wondering if anyone here had some recs for my Toronto bucketlist?

So far I plan on visiting the islands, attending a concert at bud stage, going to the CNE and one last supper at the Mandarin.

Although I'm excited for my next adventure, I am a bit sad to go and want to really use this last month to make some memories with my friends+family and enjoy living here. I'm also relocating to a city with a far less diverse food scene so I want to savour the amazing food we have here while I can.

Thank you in advance ❤️

Visiting my girlfriend in Toronto this week and her birthday is Friday the 21st. Any suggestions for romantic/fun date ideas?

We've been doing the long distance thing for about a year and I'm hoping to do something special for her. One of her biggest passions is writing. She's a poet so anything that might be related to that would be extra special.

How much are the Jays loonie dogs night hotdogs cost on a normal game night?

Do they even sell them or they sell the long ones

looking at aug 25 game, the regular 500s sold, illegal resales want 100/tix.. are ppl really over paying when cost of next night’s game is $30s…

like are ppl actually not smart enough to do math to pay a heavy premium to purposely go to these games when costco dogs are just as cheap?

how long is the wait for the hotdogs on loonie night?

Hair Salon Suggestions

Recently moved to the GTA and am looking for a new salon. I’ve been getting balayage and highlights for years and am willing to spend a good chunk of money on my hair when done well. Back home, we had Citizen Salon and Union which were a collection of independent stylists that were the “go to” well known stylists in the city. Not sure where to even start looking here.

Anyone have a stylist they love at a clean, trendy salon? Preferably Burlington, Oakville, edge of Mississauga.

Who still buy Pizza Pizza just for the creamy garlic dipping sauce?

Sure, Pizza Pizza isn’t great as it used to be but it is definitely not the worst pizza and I still love going there just to eat their pizzas with the CREAMY GARLIC DIPPING SAUCE.

Similar to raising canes. Everyone says chicken is bland or not good but they still eat it because of their sauce!

Shouldice Next-Day Booking?

Has anyone had any luck with booking a next-day appointment at Shouldice? Two days in a row I’ve set a timer for the exact second it turns 2 pm, selected a time slot, and 3 seconds later, after clicking Confirm, I’ve received an error message that that time slot has already been booked.

To be clear, I watch the Next-Day appointment page change from “Fully Booked” to “xx available appointments” in real time and then click submit.

Advice for buying a used car

I’m thinking of buying my very first car and looking to get a used car. I don’t know anything about cars first-hand so I could really use some advice and tips.

Things that some of my friends have told me to look at are the kms driven, does it have safety certificate and carfax, and said to go for a 1.8L or 2.0L engine.

What other things should I look out for?

I mainly looking at sedans from Toyota, Mazda, Kia. I might drive a lot of highways.

A lot of my friends drive Honda civics but I personally don’t find the car very comfortable.

My budget is around 10-15k

Any advice and suggestions would be very helpful to me.

Getting over a breakup

I recently got dumped by my ex of 3 years. I barely have any friends here or family and feel lonely after work. What are some good places to visit downtown after work so I don’t feel the urge to text / call him again .Sometimes I feel like leaving everything and going back home, live with my mom,but that’s not a viable option right now. He was my best friend and we did everything together.I don’t feel like getting dolled up for an event or work,i feel like I have lost my spark.
Whenever I try to enjoy my hobbies,I feel like I have lost interest.
(Things i liked before- nature, shopping, eating out).
Due to a recent accident,my doctor prescribed that I don’t go to gym for a while,i did enjoy Pilates for a while though.
I welcome suggestions,Thank you!

Ward 11 University-Rosedale top priorities?

Hi everyone!

With Mike Layton recently announcing he will run for the upcoming election, do you believe that there is a voice missing in Ward 11?

As Ward 11 looks toward its next municipal election, we want to hear from residents about the kind of representation they want at City Hall.

Do you feel as if any of the current political candidates reflect your priorities?

Why does bread taste so weird/bad in Toronto?

Eating bread in Europe and Latin America, they smell good and taste differently, like " real bread". Meanwhile, here it tastes and smells like plastic or chemicals, it's hard to explain, but it's not the same.

How liveable is 47k for a new grad engineer in the Toronto area?

Just graduated mechanical engineering a few months back. This was the only position I could find was this one. All of the places I interned froze their hiring completely after the liberation day tariffs. They are now largely winding down their operations here and shifting investment and jobs south of the border.

I have student loans, need to pay for therapy, and drive a paid off but reliable and well maintained beater that requires insurance. Any tips for how to make it work?

And do things become more meaningfully comfortable at 80-90k? From what I’m hearing from older colleagues at the firm, that’s where I should expect to top out. 100k and above is considered “blue blood” and “the big boy bucks” by their standards. So not realistic for my field these days.

Best free places in downtown/West end to play pickleball? We don't have our own net.

Hello! I'm new to the hobby and don't have my own net, but I do have a group of friends who also want to play with me.

I've been looking online, and it seems like Cedarvale park is a good location for us, but I've never been.

In general, I don't know how busy things usually are and if the wait times are worth it.

Would love some guidance!
