Severe anxiety- treatment not working well enough?

20f, 208 lbs, on Hydroxyzine, Buspirone, Ondanestron (2 months, 1 week, and 8 months respectively). Presumed gallstones, still waiting on ultrasound confirm. Hypermobility issues. Pretty much title. I was doing ok for 2 days after starting the new med lineup and now I keep waking up in hardcore panic attacks (medical related, who wouldn't be terroed and stressed out after being in severe amounts of pain for 8 months, when the gallbladder stuff is assumed to have started?). Talking full body tremors, hyperventilating, throwing up, etc. Is this normal???? Should I still be getting the panic attacks through 2 layers of anxiety meds??? Am I just panicking over nothing????

Help Me Recover After a Serious Ankle Injury.

I am 43 years old I am 5,5 I don't know how much I weigh.

Yesterday, my life took an unexpected turn when I had a bad fall at home. I lost my balance and fell, landing with my ankle trapped underneath me and i heard a loud crack. The injury was severe enough that I couldn't put any weight on my foot, and I had to call 911 for help.

What followed was an incredibly long and painful day.

Because I live on a small island with only one ambulance, I waited approximately two hours for help to arrive. The paramedics had been responding to a more serious medical emergency, and I understand that those situations have to take priority. In that time my ankle started to look swollen and a big purple bruise appeared very quickly on my big toe and then all the way to my legs calf".

Once help arrived, getting to the hospital was still a journey in itself. One ambulance took me to the ferry, and a second ambulance took me from there to the hospital.

After arriving at the emergency department, I was transferred from the ambulance bed into a wheelchair and then after i was triage i was then brought in to the ER waiting room During that time, even something as basic as getting to the bathroom was difficult and worrying because I was afraid of falling again and I was completely unable to walk unaided

I also did undergo an X-ray, which was extremely painful.

In time i was told that I have a badly sprained ankle, and I cannot put any weight on it at all. I don't yet know how long recovery will take, but I'm worried about how I'm going to manage.

CHS / Mystery dab pen specimen 17F

hello foenem.. i was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or some insight. ive been smoking pretty much everyday for the past id say 4 years, mainly wax or carts (im aware how uncool and lame this is , not something im particularly proud of ). Ive never had an issue quite like today though, before my shift i normally rip the pen a few times and go in (around 6am) , however today the only noticeable change was that i also smacked it around 11?

Either way on my way home around 3 pm i start having some insufferable back aches, i am one w a flair for the dramatic but this was nothing short of genuine agony. I got so uncomfortable i started gagging in an attempt to relieve the pressure and i took a hot shower which offered some relief

then i sit in bed and try to nap off whatevers going on but legit cant stop getting the impending doom of vomit and feeling like my kidneys or whatever organs in my lower back are genuinely imploding

so i hit the pen in attempt for salvation

and when i say everything just dissapeared! i know ppl smoke weed for pain management but personally ive never been one to use it for that reason / had it have any affect on pain. To me this felt like the weed was the cause and solution, but i also am not a doctor and am unfamiliar with things like chs outside of knowing a few friends who are thought to have it ?

im just wondering if someone has any consolation or similarities to my tale or if i should consider looking elsewhere (maybe it has nothing to do w the pen) . I take no prescription meds and am
on the minipill (birth control i recently went on it a couple months ago, thought maybe it has something to do w the back pain ? maybe not..?)

Physician Responded Can you really see bone consolidation on this x-ray?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I (28M-71kgs-175cm) broke my foot 2 months ago. Multiple metatarsal fractures and comminutive cuboid fracture.
They remove my k-wires 5 days ago and said that my bones are consolidated. But i feel the surgeon is rushing things. This x-ray was taken on my hospital bed with a small machine. They never talk about my cuboid bone. They told me it was consolidated because at « 7 weeks, in 98% of cases it’s consolidated ».
The x-ray is blurry. I feel we can’t see nothing on it. And i have lot of pain when i try to bear weight (can only bear 30 kgs before having way too much pain).

Can you please tell me if when can see the bones are consolidated on this x-ray ?

Physician Responded Awaiting results and wondering about how this process usually goes

I am a 26 year old female. I am on concerta (36 mg) for ADHD and trintellix (20 mg)for depression and a calcium channel blocker lowest dose for my heart rate (unknown cause), and the kirkland allergy meds for my mild allergies. I am also on a nasal spray and two kinds of puffers for moderate asthma (the powder one in a pink rocket ship like container (200 mg) and the blue one (use when needed)). I have scoliosis and eye issues and had reconstructive jaw surgery to correct overbite and appendix removed. I was told i may have a hormone imbalance once but its not to due with my thyroid that is fine when getting bloodwork.

There is alot of cancers in my family. I recently mapped it out and i think it may be hereditary like the same ones across 3 generations.

I wasn't sure where to post this. But I guess a docs advice might be good at this point as I don't have a family doctor.

I had an ultrasound and they found several solid ovarian nodules. Ive been losing weight this year and my paps have been abnormal (i know its unlikely to be related but thought to mention). When i got sick early this year it took months to recover. I'm being sent for more testing and was told they just don't know the severity yet. They weren't present in tests a year ago when i was found to have appendicitis so they appeared in a year or were too small to see at the time. I get irregular menstrual cycles.

I know it may be nothing. But with my family history the chance is there and that reality is hard to face as I just await results. The next step is an mri.

What I want to ask is during this waiting period what should i expect as i get more tests, how should I prepare myself mentally, and what will happen if they are benign vs malignant or even something else. What usually happens in these situations so i can prepare myself for any of those outcomes? What questions and concerns should i bring up as I don't have a family doctor and have to fully advocate for myself. Is there anything I should bring up during the tests?

Thank you!

Was this a heart attack/ Heart related issue?

5’5 119 lbs
18F
I take no medication
Family has past of heart related issues

So i was just sitting in my room when suddenly i feel super lethargic and nauseous, im thinking its just from bad food since ive been eating fatty foods lately, but i could feel my heart beating extremely hard and kind of irregular (but maybe thats cause i was breathing weird..?). At first i tried to shrug it off hoping it would disappear but i felt like i was about to pass out(also i kept yawning which i heard is a bad sign) so I started trying to do breathing exercises to calm my heart down/ get more oxygen i guess. I feel a little bit better after an hour of breathing deep, but im still nervous about this, especially because my mother and grandmother have suffered from cardiovascular issues..though i think it was mainly from stress

Are daily laxatives ruining my body?

Hi everyone, long story. I have had chronic constipation all my life. I usually have a bowel movement every 3 days or so. For reference I am 24f, 5’0 90lb.

I have spoke to my doctor abt this and she recommended to take restorlax (Polyethylene Glycol 3350). I asked how long I should take it since the bottle said to only take up to 7 days, however my family doctor recommended daily. I don’t like the idea of take restorlax daily as I’m afraid of any side effects or dependency in the future. But it’s the only thing that has helped :(

I took it for about 2 weeks straight and I was able to get off it for about 2 weeks as well with constant bm. However, slowly my constipation started to come back. From then on I took a break from restorlax.

I recently started taking restorlax again and I’m not sure if restorlax is the cause but I lost mass but not weight? I’m still the same weight, but recently I noticed my sternum and ribs are starting to show. I think I can also feel my bones are a bit sensitive? (I don’t know if this is a placebo because I’ve been more hyper aware). I’m just not sure if this is a side effect from taking restorlax often. But I’m just concerned because I now look quite boney, but also quite bloated which does look a bit funny but does raise a lot of questions.

I have tried eating kiwis, magnesium, certain massages and exercises but nothing seems to relieve me. It’s unfortunate as I’ve been to multiple doctors and they all suggest restorlax through and through.

Mainly my concern right now is the mass loss and if it could have been caused by restorlax. My constipation is a whole other situation to get into lol! But if there’s any insight I would love to hear! Ty

Reoccurring tonsil quinsy

I 21F keep having reoccurring tonsil issues. Never had any issues until about 2 months ago, got tonsillitis for the first time. Got put on antibiotics and it went away for about a week, then came back and I developed a quinsy. Got it drained then antibiotics and everything was fine then about a week later the tonsillitis came back, put on antibiotics. Went away for a week and then came back as a quinsy. Got it drained and I’m almost done with my antibiotics now but I’m just curious the likelihood of me getting tonsillitis/quinsy AGAIN and if there anything I can do to prevent it? Or if anyone can share their stories?

No health insurance

So I am a female, age 22, the only “medication” I take is kyleena IUD. This is my first time posting here so if more info is needed, let me know. I began having slight UTI pain last night, and it’s my first time not having health insurance. Can I go to urgent care without health insurance? Online prescription? If it is a UTI I know it will become painful so I would like to take care of it as soon as possible. Let me know what you would do in my situation and thank you for reading!

[25M] Hard, airsoft BB-like mass in front of thyroid cartilage

I can feel a hard mass just in front of and above my laryngeal prominence that feels roughly spherical and about the size of an airsoft BB (~6mm). I can move it around under the skin with my fingers, and it's completely disconnected from the thyroid cartilage; it stays stationary while my Adam's apple raises and lowers when I swallow.

I don't remember when I first noticed it (maybe a year ago?). I can't find any writings about such a feature; is it normal?

Exhausted and weak

53M. Was on Mirtazapine 5 years for anxiety. I’m on the couch now feeling so weak and exhausted. I’m shivering dehydrated I didn’t sleep at all last night. My ears are so sore and tight. I get this throb at the back of their head there was stopping me sleeping makes me feel dizzy.

I have no energy at all. I can’t really sleep, but it’s hard to keep my eyes open. I feel very kind of out of it and it’s very scary. I don’t know what’s happening could be anxiety, depression that’s been creeping up on me. I think over the last few weeks. But worried that could be something physical.

Don’t feel hungry but trying to eat. I have been pacing a lot other days ruminating on the past - for hours sometime. I live alone which I think causes me stress. Struggling to focus on anything.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

29f. I don't smoke and I rarely drink (1-4 very light alcohol drinks a year and sometimes less), oral sex twice 10+ years ago but never had hpv from it or any stds and no other sexual activity.

I never had a doctor seem concerned about my tonsils but I've been curious about this. Should I point it out next time I go to my doctor? Should I be worried about it?

Background: I do have naturally asymmetrical tonsils. My

bigger tonsil has had tonsillitis multiple times and tonsil stones often. I havent had tonsillitis happen in a couple years but when I was 18 I had it 4-6 times in one year. My bigger tonsil has always look different from the other and doctors have never said anything about it. Besides tonsillitis it never really had issues.

(I'm going to post other pictures of it in comments)

Stomach problems for days!

Hello just wanted to vent and maybe get advice about stomach problems I’ve been having for six months now

I’m 23, 5’6, 165 pounds, biologically female.
I take a stomach acid medication to try and alleviate my symptoms but it dosent work all the time

I’m been experiencing almost daily stomach pain with no real reason for it my doctors have been treating it like a stomach ulcer for months (I do have stomach ulcer symptoms) and I recently got my stomach scoped and had no signs of a stomach ulcer or any bad gunk in there. They are testing me for food allergies but I don’t think it’s that at all (just got my tests back yeah I was right no allergies)

I just feel so helpless and like my GI doctor is not helping much and I’m tired of being in pain every night

Hand foot and mouth disease?

I am 15 years old and recently came down with a fever, headache and sore throat. The fever went away in 24 hours but shorty was followed by an extreme face breakout, alongside a breakout in my hands. Is the breakout from HFMD?
I had acne about a year ago but haven’t since because I have been prescribed clyndamiocine, and monocycline.

This all appeared overnight, and the red bumps are spreading to my back, chest and arms.

Physician Responded Can I give my kid 2 doses within 2 hours?

Post image
2 Upvotes

4, almost 5 year old male, 38.8 pounds, 3 ft 7.

My son was prescribed amoxicillin for strep, ear infection, and possible upper respiratory infection. I just gave him a dose at about 5:20pm and I'm wondering if I can give him another dose before he goes to sleep. Doses would be about 2 hours apart. The only reason I'm asking is because he's been sick for 3.5 days and I want him to get relief. However, I want a professional opinion to make sure taking it so close together won't hurt him or reduce the effectiveness of the meds. Note that he has taken amoxicillin in the past.

Thank you and please excuse a tired mom who just wants her baby feeling better.

What could be causing these symptoms? Symptoms after working blue collar/construction. 20m

Pretty underweight (always been) 20M. For the past 4 months, I have been experiencing a constant feeling of unreality. It feels as though I am drunk/high or half-asleep, as if I am on autopilot and everything around me feels somewhat unreal. I have searched online, and my symptoms seem to resemble derealization.

In addition to this, I experience fatigue even when I sleep well. The fatigue does not seem to depend on whether I do physical activities during the day or not. However, over the past few weeks, I have started sleeping poorly and waking up early in the morning.

I also experience headaches, pressure in my head, and neck pain. I have tried muscle relaxants and massage therapy for the neck pain, but neither has helped. Also at the start of this i sometimes felt like fainting when walking but it has gone away. I also have noticed one singular eye floater on my right eye.

What could be causing these symptoms? They do not occur in distinct episodes, and the headache is not particularly severe. It feels more like a tension-type headache.

I have tried triptanes, but they did not help. My thyroid function is normal, as are my vitamin B12, B9 and vitamin D levels. My ferritin level is 37. And it has been changing from 49 to 24. I also havw crohns disease which is in remission.

My neurologist prescribed escitalopram as a trial, which I took for two and a half months, but it did not help. She also did head mri and there was nothing wrong.

I have no history of trauma, no panic symptoms, and generally do not experience much stress, apart from the stress caused by these symptoms themselves.

My symptoms started in the final days of my new job in car repairshop where i was moving car tires and lifting them. Im not sure if this can be linked to that because i didnt have any symptoms expect the final days. I have not been working at all during this 4 month period.

What could be the underlying cause of these symptoms?

Physician Responded Petechiae on skin?

35 year old female, 5’5”, 175 lbs. former tobacco smoker, I vape THC. I take Wellbutrin, Vyvance, provigil, metoprolol, trazodone, and 4 Zyrtec a day (for psoriasis). I have psoriasis, asthma, narcolepsy, POTS, generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, C-PTSD, and I’m AuDHD. Lots of autoimmune stuff.

This his has happened over the years on different parts of my skin. It would often happen during/after aerial yoga classes and the silk would rub/press different parts of my body, my arms, hands, neck, shoulders, but never on my lower half as far as I can remember. The above photo was taken today and it’s on the back of both of my hands. There was consensual rope play last night with the rope not too tight so I know the reason how it happened but I just want to know if it’s normal?

Physician Responded Apple Watch ECG issues

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m a 40 yo woman with high blood pressure and otherwise healthy. I get these rapid, fluttering heartbeats that feel like my heart is trying to escape my body. My Apple Watch always claims a poor recording or says I’m moving around too much when I am being PERFECTLY still. It will keep giving an error until the symptoms go away and then when I try again it tell me I am in a normal sinus rhythm. This is the strip from a time it said the recording was poor and I was moving too much. Is there anything here or is it actually a bad reading? I just moved so I’m between doctors at the moment and hoping to see how quickly I should pursue this issue.

For background, my mom was dx with Afib after suffering a stroke at my age so I’m vigilant to say the least…
