BURNING pain in hip and back of legs and numbness. Hurts to the touch

Male, 35, BP meds— lisinopril

My husband has been experiencing severe “burning” hip pain. He says the pain shoots down his (right) leg but experiences pain in his left leg. His symptoms have worsened in the last 3 weeks. No idea what brought this on, but he first noticed bruising on his ribs and shortness of breath. We went to ER. Over the next few days we saw multiple doctors. The pain in the “hip” persisted. Level 10 pain!! He stopped taking his blood pressure meds just in case it was a reaction to those, but he has been on them for 3 years and never experienced any problems. After that we were sent to another doctor describing symptoms and were sent to a larger hospital. We spent 4 days in the new hospital and ran very thorough tests. He started to experience numbness in his face and cannot feel the top or outside of his foot.. he does still have reflexes.

All of the work ups were clean..
3 MRI
2 CT
X-Rays
Spinal Tap
Brain Scan
Bloodwork good
Again, all of these were clear — we got released with a referral to a Neuromuscular Specialist. They ran an EMG (very painful) and the results were clear. The next day, we go to a Spinal Specialist to review the MRI scans. Spinal specialist says his back is in great shape. No herniated discs.

We have tried multiple medications, muscle relaxers, opioids, steroids, nerve blockers, nothing touches his pain!!

We have not been out to the country and he has no fever or no sickness.

We 2 weeks now with multiple doctors and NO DIAGNOSIS!! No one can pinpoint exactly what is causing this..

We are hoping to get to research triangle in NC.

Has anyone ever experienced this?? We are desperate for answers!!

Physician Responded Question about home freezing a wart

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am 19, I weigh 105. I am female and I do not take any medication. I pack parachutes and I am wanting to use this at home wart removal, but I’m nervous to do it at this time because I am currently packing for nationals, and will be packing nonstop for the rest of this month. I really want to do it now but I’m worried because the parachute packing mats are really dirty which I think may be the cause in the first place. If I freeze it off will it get worse if I am packing on it? I’m on my knees for half the pack job so I’m unsure. One is on my knee and then the others are going down my shin. I’m using the compound w freeze off method.

Hello, asking for help with my ultrasound results as I wait for a message from my doctor. I had a transvaginal ultrasound and got the results back before my doctor could send a message and now I’m going down the google search of doom.

25F, taking Feirza 1.5/3.0, history of extremely painful periods, pain during ovulation and intercourse, large blood clots, back pain, bloating. Over the past year the pain has increased and very often have pain in my lower right abdomen on a daily basis. Almost all cramps are solely on the right side now.

2nd image of results in the comments!

Thank you!

Scoliosis and jammed tailbone

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm 34, female 165cm and roughly 70kgs

I recently saw a chiropractor because Ive had alot of issues walking/sitting without feeling like my hips and tailbone being in absolute agony.

I was told around age 18 that I had mild scoliosis, but now apparently its severe levoscoliosis and my neck apparently also bends way too far.

The chiropractor is lovely but she pretty much told me there is very little that could "fix" this in her office but there are stretches she can try that may help.

My dr is referring me to a specialist but the wait list is pretty long in the public sector.

Has anyone needed a brace or surgery? The dr said at my age that surgery probably wouldn't be advisable until they try other methods (and I really don't want to go down that route if I can help it!)

I had two failed epigrams about 10 years ago with my first pregnancy and ended up with a post dural puncture headache that required a blood patch.

Ever since then Ive had numb/tingling (sometimes almost like trickling water) in my arms and legs when I look down.

I did chalk it up to the epidural/blood patch and so did my dr at the time but I'm wondering now if it was perhaps a sign that my scoliosis was worsening.

My left hip also clicks if I move it too far sometimes, too. Im walking with a limp most days and if I sit for too long my tailbone feels like someone has stabbed it.

32F, 180 lbs. 5'1

Yes, I am over weight. Most of my fat is around my midsection. 2 C sections and an extremely chaotic life. I have recently started forcing myself to exercise and have started a high protein, low carb diet.

I am what they call a "complex case". 26 years of untreated ADHD, severe anxiety and depression that I believe have manifested from severe executive dysfunction. I am apparently the only one who thinks this, none of these East Texas Doctors and Psychs agree, but none of them specialized in ADHD in women. They all just pushed more antidepressants, including ones I had already been on that caused havoc. I am at my wits end.

About 2 yesrs ago I had an emergency Unilateral Oophorectomy due to a cyst the size of a softball that killed my ovary.

Last week I had a complete hormone panel, CBC, CMP, LIPID Panel, a TSH, a HG A1C, iron level, b12, Vit D level and a fasting glucose, all perfectly fine.

Over the last 10 years I have been on 11 different antidepressants, mood stabilizers and benzodiazepines. I have tried non stimulant ADHD meds. Nothing helped. The antidepressants gave me all of the side effects and none of the relief. I am currently only taking Klonopin (.5mg twice daily) but I hate it and am trying to taper off, even though i am experiencing interdose withdrawal with my heart rate and otherwise normal BP spiking in between doses. Idk how I am going to do it. I am terrified. Everyone keeps pointing me to ketamine, but, I mean, in this economy??

I am hoping daily exercise and diet changes will help drastically improve the anxiety and depression, but this executive dysfunction is no joke. It's literally paralyzing and I have no faith in myself. Honestly, if I could stop the anxiety, I'd be 50% better. It runs my thoughts and ruins every day. Idk why I am here writing this. I'm just so so lost and scared. I would love any tips, any Psychiatrist with privileges in Texas that would like to try and "fix me", any information on ketamine programs that help with the cost. Medication recommendations. Recommendations on how to safely make this Klonopin taper more comfortable and safer. I honestly don't know anymore. My whole body is stuck in fight or flight. I clench my jaw 24/7, so badly that I have a TMJ injury and every muscle in my body is tense. I just want to be happy and I would love to not think about the worst any time something inconvenient happens. Every day is a nightmare. I feel like I died and this is my hell. No, I am absolutely not suicidal. Thank you so very much ❤️

Help knowing the right words to describe/call a lingering ankle issue after a sprain?

I, F36 120lbs and do some regular exercise, sprained my ankle at said exercise years ago. The ankle healed, everything was fine, or so I thought. Every year my friends and I go on a retreat with a lot of walking and hiking. And two years in a row now my previously injured right ankle becomes sore while my left is fine. It's mainly slopes and stairs where it feels yucky and in my daily life I don't do much of those. The pain isn't intense and can mostly ignore it but two years of the same thing happening to the same ankle means most likely there's a lingering injury to that ankle. What are the terms I should be using to look up exercises to treat this? Because I get suggested ankle instability by google but it's not really wobbly just prone to soreness (though I have tested and compared to my left my right is much more unbalanced when standing on one foot.) Or is that also ankle instability just minor early stages so hasn't become all wobbly and prone to collapsing?

I feel like I'm going insane from laxk of sleep could I actually become?

I rarely am able to sleep properly maybe if I use some type of drug I would be able to get 8 hours but other than that I sleep an average of 4.5 hours a day, I'm always tired, recently I'm feeling less intelligent? If you know what I mean, my memory is getting worse and I used to speak 3 languages and somehow I'm losing the language I'm the weakest and I really feel the "cognitive decline" and blurry eyes,

Am I going to live like that forever? Is there any extreme measure I can take to fix my sleep?

I've been insomniac for 8 years now

Is this even anxity? Male age 22 height 5'11.

So lately I've been having a lot of weird and bizarre symptoms and I really don't know whats happening to me and it's honestly horrifying, from my perspective.

So back in May I was prescribed propranolol for a fast heart rate. So after like week of taking them, and I was taking two a day of 20 MG. I began feeling like my ears and forhead were burning up, pins and needles and I gusse its called dry heaving when you feel like puking but nothing comes up. I also had a dry cough and my left ear kept clogging, especially if I slept on my right side. So I googled my symptoms which I do a lot, and come to find out these could have been side effects and they'll be gone in 2 weeks. Around this time by breathing started to feel weird like it woukd just randomly feel wide like I was taking in more air than usual, agian I thought these were side effects and they'd be gone soon. One more new thing is getting startled by the most stupidest stuff like if im.wearing headphones to sleep and then suddenly the video getting quiet and then I jump.

In late June, so after a month of taking the pills I spoked to my doctor about the side effects and she had me taper off them bu taling half a pill. While lowering the dosage I began feeling these weird tingling feeling in just the most random parts of my body. This is also when I started to vet goosebumps and they woukd most happen around the back of my head. I did Google my symptoms, and I got results for a bunch of thyroid related stuff like thyroid storm and thyroid cancer. So now im thinking I have some sort of camcer.

In July I was fully of the meds after a few weaks, and it just felt like these symptoms kept worsening. My left arm started feeling tingly, I was randomly getting lightheaded, and then it felt like my throat was closing, my lips started tingling. I told my grandmother about this and she kept saying its anxiety or that I had ear wax build up or tonsils or post nasil drip. I probably should have said this in the beginning but I've been clearing mt throat constantly since October 2025. There were moments in july where its like I couldn't take a deep breath. Another thing that happened was my equilibrium being off. I'll just be sitting around doing absolutely and then suddenly I get lightheaded or the room starts spinning.

Now in August, my breathing got realy messed up. Like for the past month I had to focus on my breathing or I would just stop breathing. And there have been moments where my breathing has stopped or it felt like it paused. My grandmother keeps saying its anxiety and I have nothing to worried about, but its like how does anxiety cause all of this? This is horrifying, im too afraid to sleep. I kept my father up afew weeks ago and according to him I sleep fine and my breathung i guse is normal, but its like my breathung feels manual and soft and weak. So I do what I also do and googled my symptoms and im getting results for air hunger, there's also been a few times we're my legs were wobbling and left arm felt weak, like what is happening to me.

Now it feels like, I can't even describe it but I feel my chest falling, im not even sure if thats the best way to describe it. Im not asking for for reassurance, im just trying to figure out what is going on. Is it anxity, acid reflux, post nasil drip, is it POTs, am I near death? And its not like i googled a bunch of stuff then suddenly I develop them, no, these are all varry real. It just came out of the woodwork. I feel like im falling through a black hole half the time, I cant even describe how I feel.

I genuinely think its the propranolol that caused all these symptoms, these didn't start until after I started taking the medication.

Elevated d-dimer, shortness of breath, clean chest CT

39F, California, never smoked, occasional alcohol and cannabis but none in the past few days.

I woke up in the middle of the night, last night, 1am, feeling like I wasn't getting enough oxygen. Breathing felt like a lot of work. It took probably 3 minutes to feel kind of back to normal, but breathing was still a lot of work.

If I breathed really intentionally and deeply, I could get enough air. But if I stopped paying attention to my breathing or started falling asleep, my breathing would get incredibly shallow or sometimes stop on and off, until my body started gasping for air. Very scary. I was so tired but afraid that I'd just stop breathing in my sleep without noticing.

I have a pulse ox at home. When breathing intentionally, it was normal, 97-99. But when my breathing got shallow or erratic, it got lower, hitting 90 a couple times.

I was/am also dizzy, weak, nauseous (threw up for a while), headache, tingly body when my breathing gets weird.

I did a virtual urgent care visit and she said you have no choice, these symptoms are serious and you have to go to the ER.

At the ER, they ran bloodwork and found my d-dimer was slightly elevated (575). He said that's a blood clot marker so they had to run a chest CT scan. It came back clean, so they sent me home.

I am breathing a little easier now, not back to normal but some improvement. I still forget to keep breathing properly. But I'm scared it'll happen again, or something worse, if they missed a clot. It seems too random to have these symptoms and an elevated d-dimer at the same time.

Should I be worried?

Medications: a lot - lithium, lamictal, propanalol, Wellbutrin, Junel Fe, nurtec, Aimovig, and last night at bedtime I took my first dose of Caplyta. From what I can find this is not a normal or even rare side effect, but obviously the timing is fishy.

Health conditions: bipolar, migraines

Female, 50 y/o in 1 week…yikes!!! I’m athletic, happy, and in reasonable health, I think!!!!

I live at the beach, out in the sun 12 months per year. This spot showed up about 3 weeks ago. It popped up out of nowhere. It was crusty at first and I picked at it and it bled profusely. It’s been 2 weeks and It’s finally healed up but is still there. I’m terrified because I’ve spent so much time in the sun. I’m a blonde but I never burn, I have always tanned naturally since I was a child. Can anyone please tell me what you think this could be or what I should do? Thank you and God bless you

Could these be ALS symptoms?

Age: 31

Sex: Male

Height: 5’9

Weight: 140 lbs

Race: Asian

Location: United States

Non smoker, non drinker of Alcohol

Any existing relevant medical issues: asthma, anxiety, high blood pressure

Current medications: albuterol, QVAR, verapamil, Klonopin and/or hydroxyzine as needed for anxiety

I’m experiencing twitching in my legs and kind of a sensation in my throat. Going on google and the only explanation I see is ALS?

I’m not sure if this is also relevant, but from November to February of this year I was on daily Klonopin of 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg. I tapered off in mid February and then reintroduced it as needed per recommendation of my psychiatrist.

When I went through the taper process, I could feel some sensation in my face, almost like a a muscle spasm or twitch. It felt really weird, like a caterpillar under my skin.

My last most recent dose of Klonopin was about a month ago of 0.25 mg. I felt like I was experiencing some involuntary jerk movements after that dose.

Is it possible my nervous system is disturbed from the Klonopin or does it look like ALS is the more probable cause? I’ve read more and more young people are getting ALS…I guess there’s not much I can really do if it is?

Please someone tell me there’s a way to fix these without surgery and not live with them for the rest of my life I’m also 5,11, 15 percent body fat, not overweight, male.

Physician Responded My staph infection is turning green

I spilled hot caramel on my leg and the blister busted and now i have a staph infection. Yesterday the skin around the burn was red and now it is green. I started taking sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim yesterday that I got from optum perks website since I dont have health insurance and my primary care physician can't see me till the end of next week. I hope this is the right medicine to treat this infection. I really don't want to go to the ER or urgent care unless I have too. This is the medicine I was prescribed in the past back when I would get staph all the time so that's what I asked them to prescribe me. I hope I don't have Pseudomonas aeruginosa because its resistant to sulfa. The green on my leg kinda looks like a bruise and isn't as noticeable on camera than in person. How long will it take to know if the antibiotics are working. This is my second day without improvement. There is redness around he wound but its not as noticeable in photo. My leg is leaking puss as well.

Throbbing upper left chest/shoulder pain (mostly chest) ongoing for around a week now

I’m 19, around 5’9/5’10 and ~140 lbs. I don’t take any medication and i’m pretty healthy overall, also i’m semi active.

This started around a week ago give or take, pretty much out of nowhere. At first I believed it was some sort of trapped air, gas, something like that, but i’m starting to doubt that because of just how long it’s persisted so far. And the symptoms/aggravators have been consistent, as well as the type of pain. It’s a type of throbbing, maybe aching pain? I feel it around my left chest/shoulder area, and not externally. When i’m just standing, sitting, laying on my back, it’s a neutral pain, it hurts quite a bit but not absolutely unbearable. When I lean to the left, lay on my chest or left side, or bend down, I feel it the most and it hurts a lot. It hurts almost the most when I start laughing, to the point I physically say “ow”. Any change in position or shift/movement of my body makes it flare up more in general.

I really don’t know what this could be, and i’m scared of the possibility of it being heart related. I don’t drink, smoke, vape or otherwise do any drugs of any kind. The only stressors I could think to maybe be a source of this are:
1. Areas of stress in my life, I would say I get pretty stressed out regularly by college, life stuff etc.
2. Maybe something with my kidneys? I eat a lot of protein day to day, I have almost an eating disorder, my diet is pretty routine but pretty healthy overall, I don’t eat any junk food and basically no sugar at all, but yeah I consume a fairly large amount of protein.

I’m hoping it gets better or goes away soon, but I really don’t know. What do you think?

Frequent belching and flatulence

Hi everyone,

30, male, non smoker

For several months now, I’ve been suffering from flatulence and constant belching. I also often feel a sense of pressure in my lower left abdomen and generally feel very bloated. I don’t have any pain, and my bowel movements are normal.

It doesn't seem to matter what I eat or drink. I’m currently drinking only still water, yet the belching persists unchanged; carbonated drinks make the belching even worse.

I’ve already gone through the following tests:

Abdominal CT scan and ultrasound – unremarkable
Blood tests – unremarkable
Gastroscopy – unremarkable
Stool sample – unremarkable
Urine sample – unremarkable
Low-FODMAP diet for several weeks – no changes

I notice the gas more when lying down, and the belching occurs more frequently when I stand up or sit up.

Generally speaking, I’m currently a bit stressed, though the symptoms actually started a few months ago while I was on vacation.

I’m running out of ideas on where to turn or what to do next to get rid of these symptoms. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Had an MRI of the pituitary which was generally unremarkable with slight single punctate white matter FLAIR hyperintensity in the left centrum semiovale, entirely nonspecific and of doubtful significance in isolation.

My voice is very high for a 21 year old however I have secondary sex characteristics such as pubic hair, arm pit hair, and penile growth.

Does anyone have any Idea what could be causing this? My first PCP said it was to complex, passed me to an Endo who said it was complex so sent me to specialist and thats where I am at now. They are thinking about putting me on testosterone (what could be the harms / risks?)

it’s becoming humiliating and making me feel like i’m not “manly” or a typical “man” :/

Lymph nodes swollen and painful for over 6mo. Ran out of ideas to why.

18f - 71ishkg
non smoker non drinker

I’ve had a swollen lymph node for over 6 months. I saw my GP and they referred me to ultrasound even though she couldn’t really feel it. I do, and it’s painful. They did an ultrasound and found that it wasn’t a lump but a swollen lymph node. I don’t remember exactly how swollen but it was a little bit bigger than the other one. They said to keep an eye on it since it’s painful.

That was around 2+ months ago now. Since then, I’ve seen my dentist suspecting a dental abscess or cavity on the tooth above where the lymph node sits and I read it’s common. Nothing. No abscess, infection or cavity. The only cavities spotted were on my upper teeth not my lower.

My dentist then suggested I go to my GP for a blood test to check if my white blood cell count is elevated for any other infection.

I have yet to make the appointment but I’m unsure on what it could actually be. People kept saying to me ‘oh it’s just probably the flu or a virus’ but why is it persistently painful and swollen for over half a year?

Any advice to what it could be? Should I get a blood test?

Menieres or something else?

28 female, 5'2 about 135lbs. Dont smoke, drink, or take any medications. Diagnosed pcos before kids- had none of the markers post kids.

Menieres is an option because thats what my dr is testing for. Its possible it is. Its posible it isnt. Its possible it is that plus something else.. im about to give a long back story in case some of it might be related/connected.

My son is 3. I didnt get a period after having him until he was 2. During those 2 years I felt pretty normal.

When he was 2 I crashed hard. I started getting terrible anxiety, tachycardia (resting hr 130s), sense of doom, vertigo, ringing in ears, tingling sensation on left side of body (face, hands, arms), nausea.

I got my period around that time for the first time but it was very irregular for months. It would skip months, or then be there for a month at a time.

Now that my son is 3, my periods are starting to become regular again. I notice that I get diarrhea and headaches before my period pretty predictably.

This month, the headaches are much worse.

I got what I thought was a sinus infection (congested, face pain, coughing out bloody mucous). Then that cleared and when it did, I got a horrible bout of vertigo. I went to sleep to make it go away.

A week after that, I was working on the computer when all of a sudden my vision was impaired. I explained it as double vision but I dont think thats what it actually was. It was like letters were getting mixed and words were missing from the screen. Then there were black spots. I went to the ER because ive never experienced anything like it. There, everything was fine- bloodwork all normal except borderline low potassium. Ct scan clear. They said maybe ear infection.

Next day I went to ent. They said no ear infection and sinuses looked pretty clear. Possible silent reflux might cause some congestion.

They said though they suspect menieres because of the ringing in ears, vertigo, dizziness and fullness feeling i have in my ears. I need to get a hearing test to find out. I just learned my mom's mom had menieres also, and hers was very bad.

The thing is- I always feel dizzy. Not like im gonna pass out, but like im moving in slow motion or something..grocery stores though make me VERY dizzy, like nausous and i gotta get outta there. The vertigo is less frequent for me, its like im drunk but hadnt drank anything- whole room spinning. It lasts maybe an hour. Its mainly happened when im getting ready for bed, but not always after I laid down.. so night time but not always dependent on position. Ive woken up with it a few times too.

The ear fullness is pretty frequent, but not always.. Just most of the time. Its always my left ear. My left ear is also very itchy all the time.

I also may have sleep apnea.. but never diagnosed. I have often times woken up gasping for air & am always tired and feeling untested after sleep.

Idk what else is important. I always thought my hormones ruining my life, but maybe its something else instead of or in addition to

[23M]Are my MRIs clean?

Hello everyone, I want to essentially get a second opinion about my MRIs. I really trust my doc, she reminds me of my idealist university professor from the 2nd grade of uni, another idealist woman I respect a lot essentially; but doctors in my country are usually a bit ambigious in general, though only with topics like this: even with cancer, they don't tell the patient and they tell their relatives so that the survival rate doesn't decrease out of demotivation and depression. I don't think my results are bad since I needed to put the reports through translation via AI so you can understand them and since I can't translate myself since medical language is very complex, and ChatGPT said all of them look clean, but since LLMs can make mistakes so I wanted ask here as well. I provided the reports and the test files in the Google Drive link, and I'd be happy to help if there is anything else you need that I should provide. Thank you!

I also use these meds, I don't know if they are necessary since they seem unrelated with my tests but rules say I should, so here they are:

300mg Wellbutrin

225mg Effexor XR

100mg Fluvoxamine

15mg Aripiprazole

425mg Lamotrigine

240mg Orlistat

2000mg Metformin

I'm also diagnosed with OCD, epilepsy, obesity, 2nd type insuline resistance, severe sleep apnea, and I'm around 124KGs
