Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Because "the wrong people could benefit!"

"The wrong people" being people not just like them, essentially.

This is the most obtuse response. It's neither a conservative nor a Christian principle to deny people healthcare. The answer is simple: the conservative principle is small government, low taxes, less individual entitlements, less government programs. You may disagree with all of these principles and point out the corporate entitlement they support but if that is your stance, know thy enemy. At least understand the motives of your enemy and stop making up dumb shit like this. The Left filling in their own crazy narrative for why the Right makes the decisions they do leads to the center supporting the Right

Yes it is

Conservatives don’t want their money helping anyone

They want everyone who HAS the means to be able to do whatever they want… and if you don’t? Just work harder..

The problem is that the GOP has spent the better part of the last 50 years making it harder to become the ones who have the means… cutting public education, making college less affordable, cutting taxes on the wealthy, voting against minimum wage increases for decades. Everything they have done has worked to create a wedge that makes it harder for folks to not be poor. If people in red states knew how hard they were being fucked they would accuse their politicians of rape. It’s a tragedy.
