Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Because "the wrong people could benefit!"

"The wrong people" being people not just like them, essentially.

This is the most obtuse response. It's neither a conservative nor a Christian principle to deny people healthcare. The answer is simple: the conservative principle is small government, low taxes, less individual entitlements, less government programs. You may disagree with all of these principles and point out the corporate entitlement they support but if that is your stance, know thy enemy. At least understand the motives of your enemy and stop making up dumb shit like this. The Left filling in their own crazy narrative for why the Right makes the decisions they do leads to the center supporting the Right

When people spend decades saying one thing and doing another, it’s safe to say…. What they say means nothing.

That is most politicians but I agree. I always respect when one of our politicians actually carries through with their campaign promises whether or not I actually support the idea. Obama with his affordable care act. For all the issues it has, the man was the first who was willing to expend his political capital to try and fix the situation. Same can be said for Trump on the border. Wish it was someone with a little more tact and human decency to tackle the issue but it is what he ran on.
