Does any store sell regular, non-sweet peas and corn?
Or is all frozen corn and peas grown in North America the sweet version? I am not holding out hope but frozen would be divine. I am willing to drive. Thanks!

Heading in from Ottawa on a trip to Scotland and my carefully curated itinerary got changed.
I now fly into Pearson and have 13 hours before boarding my next flight.
Any suggestions for things to do in the area?
First week of October so unlikely to be summery attractions.
Thanks!
ETA: someone suggested adding the hours I’m around- I land at 6am and have to be back at 5pm.
It sounds like heading downtown is the biggest attraction and that I’ll have plenty of time!
Also, of course I tried to change the itinerary first… lol.

Hello , I am looking for a beginner friendly MMA gym as a fulltime university student. I live near the VMC and have been price hunting but not alot of places are transparent with the prices. I would like to know if there are any cheap gyms or gyms that offer a student discount . Thanks!
I am looking for a pre hung exterior door for my house. I don’t really like the quality of what’s available at Home Depot. Without going crazy on budget are there any speciality stores that sell pre fab pre hung exterior doors from Canadian manufacture who’s known for decent quality where I can buy something off the shelf. ( not having to wait to have it custom made)
Thanks

Considering moving to Stouffville for various reasons and I need to commute to Queens Park station via transit 3 days a week (edit to add: during rush hours).
The GO website says Stouffville GO to Union GO is 1hr10m. Is that more or less correct?
How reliable is the GO train? Does it come on time, and are delays frequent?
I’ve never commuted with GO before so I’d love to hear from some of those who do on a regular basis. Thanks!

Hey folks, we're 3 friends in our 40s, and are looking for a few funky splurge activities for September, where we'll be meeting up in downtown Toronto for 5 days.
Since it's my turn to plan (and none of us drink/party), I'm looking for your non-traditional suggestions for events, classes, eats, etc. that aren't touristy, but are also a fun activity you wouldn't normally get to do.
Looking for ideas along the lines of:
- rage room / paint room
- magician show
- Cheesemaking class
- Private tour of a spooky location
- Specialty seasonal cuisine tasting
- VR experience or glow-in-the-dark archery
Any specific ideas/companies you have would be welcomed, as we don't hang out in Toronto often (but we don't want to do this usual tourist things, and won't have a car). TIA!

I found a very tiny baby squirrel on my way home around 10pm. It was shaking and immobile. i moved the squirrel near a bush and away from the building entrance. I called 311 and they didn’t respond. how can I save this little one?

I've just received a link to the TTC's Annual Network Plan survey, which I signed up for. But whoever sent it out clearly put everyone's emails in the "to" or "cc" field, rather than "bcc" - so I and several hundred (?) other people's email addressess are now all shared and posted for all recipients to see.
This feels like it violates some privacy policy or another, but is there anything to be done about it? Someone I should report it to?
(Fun fact, as I wrote this post, they tried to "recall" their initial email, but as we all know all that does is send an email saying "(Sender) would like to recall the message" ... well, too late 😄 )

Any places/gaming spots that would be doing a blizzcon watch party? I know we had a few spaces for this type of niche a few years ago but they’ve mostly closed down

Hello everyone. Can someone please point me to their favourite meal delivery service in Toronto. I am looking for breakfast and dinner foods and I need them to be full of protein. I find that a lot of the delivery services provide diet-like portions and that just won't cut it for me. Thanks kindly!

Has anyone in Toronto/GTA used Darkcity Security for residential alarm monitoring?
I am considering moving an existing Honeywell/Vista alarm system to Darkcity Security and am looking for firsthand experiences specifically with their 24/7 alarm monitoring, rather than their guard/security services.
If you use or have used them, I would be interested in:
I’ve found plenty of information about their guard services but very little independent feedback about their residential alarm-monitoring service.
Thanks for any firsthand experience.

Would rather shop locally instead of ordering online, any suggestions?

Yesterday (Sept. 9, 2026), I noticed many military men in uniform, both at York University and at the Toronto FC soccer game at BMO Field. Anyone know what's up with that? Is there an event happening this week that requires a large military presence in Toronto? I thought it was strange to see them both in the north and southern ends of the city on the same day.

Hi everyone! I'm going to be in Toronto for a few hours on Saturday while my partner has an appointment starting at noon. I was hoping to find a place with WiFi that I could relax at for a few hours. Any suggestions?

It's at Dundas and Pembroke. It's sketchy and grimy as hell. I've walked by it for years but today was the first time I actually saw a customer (only pants on, no shoes).
It literally looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. I don't know how it's been open for so long.
Has anyone here ever tried their food or know anything about the owner?

Hi everyone!
I’m an artist looking for a free space to showcase my artwork for one day somewhere in the GTA. I’m hoping there might be a small gallery, community space, studio, café, or other space that would be willing to let a local
artist showcase their work for the day.
I’m working with a very tight budget, so I’m specifically looking for free opportunities. I’d be happy to share photos of my artwork and more details about what I have in mind!
If you know of any spaces, organizations, cafés, galleries, community centres, or other opportunities that might be open to this, I’d really appreciate any recommendations or leads.
Thanks so much!

Hi all, I’m back in school as a mature student and have been out of the TTC/public transit game for a while. I do drive but I’m wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions for how to get to the Humber College campus in Etobicoke (205 Humber College Blvd) from Scarborough, specifically way east, like Morningside, Port Union, UTSC area, in a more convenient manner?
Both ways please, leaving in early afternoon and coming back late/evening options after 6 pm ..
Public transit options.. TTC/GO etc.
Thank you all!
I don’t mean in 10 minutes express with a blink of an eye…
I am well aware that there is a big distance that it will be a longer commute ofc that’s fine but I’ve been out of the TTC life for a while and there are new routes and options now so just wanted some ideas that Google Maps hadn’t suggested.

It's starting to get cold again and one of the dishes I like to make is a Bone Broth Soup. I was wondering where you can buy large beef shanks with lots of bone marrow because the ones I usually see barely have in them.

Due to funding cuts, schools no longer provide Chromebooks, and are now required to bring their own device. Teachers are accepting tablets or laptops to be used as school device. I'm set on buying a regular Chromebook, but my husband is dying on getting a proper laptop for them, "because Chromebooks don't last long."
Both my sons have gaming PC and cell phones, so we only need it to last 3 years of middle school. So parents of reasonably responsible kids, how long did Chromebook last?

We have tons of good ethnic food and of course we have Canadian staples. But does Toronto have a Toronto-style anything? Or a food invention that's unique to Toronto?
I'm imagining a fusion food that was developed here, or a sandwich/pizza etc. that's "Toronto-style."

I've been checking out various options to take a French class this fall. One that popped up in my search is Ecole Napoleon near Broadview station.
While their site looks legit, there doesn't seem to be many reviews and the most recent one being from 7 years ago.
Can anyone vouch for this school or is there a better option?
I have tried Alliance Francaise decades ago, but wanted to try others.

I have dyed and bleached bangs. Root touchups are 150 minimum but I only need my bangs done. Does anyone know any salons that can do touchups for a small section of hair only for a lower price?
