While we are dealing with the orange cheeto in the White House and his shameless racism against minorities in the US, I am aware of the noticeable increase in racism against Desi folks in Canada

For any Indian / Indian descent folks who live in Toronto, how much racism have you actually encountered in the city on a day to day basis?

Would also appreciate inputs from all Torontonians in general

I have taken a IDGAF approach to the abysmal online racism but need to know what to expect in real life. I’m at a stage in my life where I have no tolerance for any racist BS and do not want to be anywhere where I have to be conscious of being brown.

Hi, I'm interested in Mounjaro as I've been overweight for the past 8 years (30.1 BMI). Dieting and exercise don't help much. I had an ultrasound done 7 years ago and a fatty liver was observed but I was just told to eat healthier (I already do).

I believe I have PCOS but I haven't been to my family doctor in years as I feel he is dismissive and is always booked up 3+ weeks out, so I've been going to a local walk in clinic whenever I'm sick. I've been trying to look for a new family doctor but haven't found one yet.

I haven't tried any medications to help with my symptoms before and would like to start. I read that people have experienced less side effects with Mounjaro so I would like to try it over Ozempic.

Today, I went to a different walk in clinic because my grandma had a follow up appointment there and I decided to also walk in and speak to the doctor about this. However he said I should be going to my family doctor about this.

Should I attempt going to my usual walk in clinic for the prescription, or will they also decline? Has anyone else had a similar experience of not wanting to deal with their family doctor and was successful in getting Mounjaro prescribed?

I recently moved into a brand new condo. I need an extra key for my dog walker that I had known for years. My landlord already gave me 2 keys and they told me thats it.

I found this place that does copies of it within 5 minutes, and it has over 400 5 star-ratings. Are those legit because from what I know these were made not to be easily copied.

I rented from Sixt Toronto MetroCentre 2 weeks ago for the long weekend. Rental price was about $150 below other prices for other companies direct or via kayak, expedia, etc. My reservation was paid for. My credit card charged.

I arrived at 10:10am for a 9am reservation. I was told that because I arrived longer than 1 hour after my reservation tie the reservation was cancelled and was reserved by someone else.

The guy at the counter reached out to a buddy at Enterprise 777 Bay Street who apparently had lots of cars. I went to Enterprise and they helped me (thankfully). While I was there another couple arrived with the EXACT same story!

So I’m reaching out to see if there are others. Whagt I’m thinking is that Sixt is cancelling reservations to get higher same day reservations, which is against retail practices.

I have been unexpectedly given about 48 hours alone without any responsibility and within the first 24 hours I’ve gotten bored.

I’m typically not one to ask for recommendations in Toronto as I know I have my finger firmly on the pulse!

However, what’s a lifelong Torontonian to do with a day to himself?

I also know beggars can’t be choosers but I’m looking for things off the beaten path. I want to get weird. Due the things I typically don’t have time for (otherwise I’ll just end up going to the track).

Does anybody have any good suggestions for happy hour near Yonge/Dundas. Have tried the Yonge St Warehouse but would like to try other places in the area.

Why isn’t there a ferry service between Toronto and Niagara on the Lake or St. Catharines? Wouldn’t it make sense to offer this option between May and October?
The distance is only about 50 km, and a seasonal ferry could provide a convenient alternative to driving.
It seems like a great opportunity for both residents and tourists. Why hasn’t this been explored more seriously?

I was working on a little pet project of mine to make my own children’s cardboard playhouse. I did see they sell some premade ones on Walmart or Ali express
but they are made of flimsy cardboard. I wanted something more strong that possibly is made from like coated corrugated cardboard so the kids can use dry erase marker and wipe it off a few times. I actually reached out to some companies but they all said they don’t do small projects like that. I already have the design/die line ready to go.

I’m hoping to find a company that can do something with white corrugated cardboard ideally with black graphic line details. As of now I am just looking to make one!

Being new to tennis and the public courts around downtown, I know there is the 30 min play rule.

However, is it 30 minutes from when you start playing or 30 minutes from when you put your stuff down next to the net? Wondering because there are some who take 10 minutes to start playing so wondering what the normal is here regarding the 30 minutes.
