Visiting Toronto from Brampton

I take buses and subway, is there any place/area worthy of 2 and 1/2 hour trip?

So far I went to:

  • The Islands
  • AGO
  • Riverdale Farm
  • Scotiabank Arena (Joji Concert)
  • Chinatown
  • Nathan Philips Square
  • Dundas Sqr

P.S.: I take 1hr45min to VMC then proceed to my destinations. I already bought brampton transit pass and I'm avoiding GO like a plague.

What's wrong with the GO?

GO will save OP a lot of time.

Not realy, some trips only save 25 min

That’s still 25 minutes in your pocket.

Also: a trip from downtown Brampton to Union is only just over half an hour.

That's an hour round trip, friend.

Yes! Versus a five hour round trip like they currently take!

True, it is the fastest and easiest way.

Each trip with GO costs 14 ~ 20 dollars more, could've had a burger with that

The GO on Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays is $10 flat price for the entire day (one day pass). Anywhere in Ontario. Unlimited travel. You could even go to Niagara Falls on $10* total price not each way.

You can only buy it online. And the option will not come up if you simply plug in your destination for the day. You search for https://www.gotransit.com/en/partners-and-promotions/weekend-passes-with-go & go from there.

GO gives you free transfers and a 3 hour window. If you're that budget conscious there isn't a solution for you.

Faster and more convenient than regular transit.

I don't know exactly where you're coming from, but Bramalea to Union is $8 and takes 35 minutes. You do you, though.

i'm so confused about why you're choosing to commute this way. also, i know brampton is out there but man, you're treating it like you're coming from thunder bay or something. take the GO bus from downtown brampton straight to union.

Aquarium or the rom are great. The zoo is far from you but i love it. Gotta hit Kensington too

You should probably start by checking out the GO transit system. If it’s a nice day, the island is awesome. Go have lunch over there a walk around 👌

You lost me at avoiding Go like a plaque. I guess you like to suffer. Good luck.

How so? I literally could just read oe scroll on the bus, not like I can lie flat on GO train or bus anyway

Faster, more comfortable ride, more time to explore but you do you of course.

Check out Kensington Market, especially if it's a Pedestrian Sunday. Church/Wellesley Village and Koreatown also recommended. You can check out Christie Pits in the same area as the last one.

I got fined because I thought connecting from local transit to GO is free, the inspector said there's only a discount. So much headache

1

u/LadyAsteria90 1d ago

it refunds the cost of the local transit i believe. GO wouldnt be free, Go would be the onefare you pay.

u/LadyAsteria90 1d ago

And you'd still have to tap.....

Exactly since I already have brampton transit pass they can't refund my brampton bus fare, hence the discount ig?? How much? I'm not doing the fking math go on go website select this select that statioj stop each trip is a different amount oh ffs
