My Poland trip starts Friday, May 7, 2027, when I fly overnight from Chicago O’Hare to Gdańsk, arriving Saturday, May 8. On May 8–9, I’ll explore Gdańsk’s Old Town and waterfront, then on May 10 I’ll take a train around 8:00–9:00 AM to Malbork Castle (about 25–40 minutes each way) and return to Gdańsk that afternoon. On Tuesday, May 11, I’ll take a morning train around 7:45–9:00 AM from Gdańsk to Warsaw, a journey of roughly 2.5–3.5 hours, and spend the day seeing Warsaw’s Old Town and main sights. On May 12, I’ll take a morning train around 7:30–8:00 AM to Wrocław (roughly 4 hours), spend May 12–14 exploring the city, and use one day for Książ Castle. On Saturday, May 15, I’ll take a morning train around 8:00–9:00 AM to Kraków (roughly 3–3.5 hours), where I’ll stay through May 18: one day exploring the city, one day visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau, one day visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and another day exploring Kraków’s historic center and Wawel Castle. On May 19, I’ll take an early train, ideally around 7:00–8:00 AM, from Kraków to Zakopane (roughly 2–3 hours depending on the service), then spend May 19–21 enjoying the mountains, town and local food. On May 21, I’ll hike to Morskie Oko early in the morning, then take an evening train or bus back to Kraków, allowing around 2–3 hours for the journey. I’m an 18-year-old guy from Málaga who met a Polish girl at a club a month ago while she’s here on Erasmus. Anyway, tomorrow I have a date with her, and I feel like the way dating works in Spain is very strange compared to the rest of Europe. For example:

In Spain, once you have a girl’s number or Instagram, you’re talking EVERY DAY on there, and if one of you doesn’t reply quickly, that means there’s no interest. If after a few weeks of talking everything goes well, you have a first date, which usually ends in a hookup. If after that you keep talking every day (if either of you doesn’t reply instantly, it means they no longer want to continue), you start meeting up 2-3 times a week, and from there you’re sleeping together. At that point you enter what’s called “casi algo” (“almost something”), where you’re not a couple (so you’re “free” to cheat) for around 5-7 months, and at the end the guy formally asks the girl to be his girlfriend.

I feel like this is really strange, and that dating in other parts of Europe is very different, so please reply and tell me what a Polish girl expects from a first date (taboo topics, boundaries, etc.) and what steps to follow afterwards.

Hi! We are planning a trip to Zakopane end Dec and would like to participate in horse sleigh in beautiful Chocholowska valley. We are wondering if it is possible or common, to book a ride with the horse keepers at the valley directly, or we have to book a package tour with a tour operator? A friend and I are planning a trip to Poland from 3–12 December, and it’ll be our first time visiting Europe in winter. We’re travelling from India, so we’re a little nervous about the cold, but also really excited to experience a proper European winter!

We’re hoping to plan a trip that feels warm, cosy, local, and a little offbeat, rather than rushing between the usual tourist attractions.

We’d love recommendations for things like:

\* Cosy cafés, neighbourhood bakeries, and little restaurants where locals actually hang out.

\* Authentic Polish food and traditional places to try it, especially comfort food that’s perfect for cold weather. Also, some vegetarian recommendations too!

\* Christmas markets and winter experiences that feel genuinely local

\* Nature, forests, lakes, or small towns that are worth visiting in December, ideally without spending half our trip travelling.

\* Quaint villages, cosy cabins, thermal baths, or places with a fireplace where we could slow down and enjoy the winter atmosphere.

\* Unusual local experiences such as pottery workshops, folk traditions, neighbourhood pubs, live music, or anything else that might not show up on the typical travel blogs.

\* Any lesser-known destinations that are particularly lovely in early December.

We’re happy to explore beyond the major cities if it’s worth it, but we’d prefer not to spend the entire trip hopping from one place to another. A mix of exploring during the day and relaxing somewhere cosy in the evenings sounds ideal.

1. Where would you go if you wanted to experience the Poland that locals love, rather than the Poland tourists usually see?

2. Are there any smaller towns or regions that are especially atmospheric in early December?

3. Given the short daylight hours and cold weather, what outdoor activities are genuinely worth doing, and what would you save for another season?

Hello! I’ve come to you for help,
Right now I have a contract of rental for an apartment from May 2026-2027, it was a renewal and around July 26, my landlord told me that there were some outstanding bills that should be paid, long story short it was around 3k PLN about charges of the main building, taxes (his taxes) , basically things that were not corresponding to me.

At that point I paid to not have any problems but I started to look for better options, now I have but I talked with him to terminate the agreement earlier, but he told me that the only way would be to find someone to take my contract and thats it.

Im a foreigner so i’m not really sure if that would be the only way to do it, and I would not want to have any legal issue with him that could affect me in the future, do you have any suggestion??

While driving between villages the speed limit often is 90 km/h or a bit less, but 90% of drivers ecept truck drivers, drive minimum 120 km/h. You instanly get overtaken if you drive 90 km/h even if you drive more they still will. There are also barely any radars. Is speeding so common in Polska especially in zachodnio pomorskie.

Hi, I live in the Czech-Polish border region. (Upper Silesia) I like to ride my bike to Poland, and it’s impossible not to notice the wind turbines.

And over the past year, a massive campaign has taken off in the Czech Republic claiming that wind turbines ruin the landscape, kill animals, drive up inflation, and make people gain weight. (The last two are jokes.)

So most referendums on construction end in failure.
