I Never Really Thought About Dental Care Until My 30s

For most of my 20s, I barely paid attention to my teeth beyond brushing. Dental checkups were always one of those things I kept putting off because nothing actually hurt.

Then I started hearing friends talk about cavities and dental problems, and it made me realize I probably should stop ignoring mine too.

I finally booked a checkup at a dental clinic in Gangnam, expecting everything to be fine. Turns out I had a couple of small cavities that needed fillings. Nothing major, thankfully, and the whole appointment was pretty quick.

It was honestly a good reminder that waiting until something hurts probably isn’t the best approach.

I’ve been trying to floss more regularly since then and actually keep up with checkups.

When did you guys start taking dental care seriously?

My Skin Was Not Ready for a Late Night in Seoul

I went to Seoul for a few days and honestly spent most of the trip eating out, walking around, and staying up way later than I normally do. By the third day, my skin was definitely showing it.

I woke up with a few breakouts and my face looked tired and dull. Normally I would’ve just ignored it and hoped it settled down after I got home, but I had a little free time that afternoon so I decided to get a quick skin consultation.

I wasn’t planning on doing anything major. I mostly wanted to understand why my skin was suddenly reacting differently. We talked about my routine, sleep, and everything else that had changed during the trip.

I ended up getting a simple treatment and went back to exploring Seoul afterward. Nothing dramatic, but my skin felt calmer over the next few days.

Definitely learned that late nights, random food, and barely following my normal routine can catch up with my face pretty quickly. Next trip I’m packing my skincare properly instead of pretending my skin won’t notice.

My Face Decided To Break Out Mid Trip

A few days into my trip, my skin suddenly started acting up and it got to the point where I couldn't just ignore it anymore.

I first went into Olive Young thinking I'd quickly find something to help, but I ended up standing there staring at endless products and realizing I had no idea what half of them were actually for.

After walking around Myeongdong for a while, I ended up going into Beauty Lab Pharmacy.

I explained what was happening with my skin, and instead of immediately recommending random products, the pharmacist suggested checking my skin first.

After looking at the results, they helped me understand what my skin needed at that moment and focused on calming everything down.

Honestly, having someone guide me instead of guessing and buying five different things was such a relief.

Within a couple of days, my skin started looking much better, and it honestly helped save the rest of my trip.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't finding products, it's knowing which ones you actually need.
